Kenosha's 1st tournament-The CMT Challenge!/Upcoming new tourney, vote in prizes!!!

Great, I'll be there. Hopefully a lot of people come! Anyone around Kenosha should come down and play. :biggrin:
 
I'm coming along for the ride, still need to decide what has a chance for Regionals, even WITH the next set coming out soon. Hopefully, STPika will come as well, I could always use a ride up there...
 
So, I want to know of all of u guys....who's going to make it for sure....I need to prepare the prize set up asap. Please make sure your schedule for sat. is free.....remember on that day we will also take a vote on what the 2nd tourney will be.

Yes, we need as many people as possible. Please bring a bunch of people ST Pika, lol. Hopefully our first tournament here is a success.

I just got back from the CMT Challenge. I got 4th. Out of the eight of us there was only 2 Rock-Lock but they took 1st and 2nd. After the tournament Rulemaster and I went to White Castle and got some Cheeseburgers.

Props to CMT for holding the tournament.

CMT Challenge-

Well, we left around 11 and drove to Kenosha, WI for the first Charizard Master Trainer challenge at J Dub’s card store. I decided to refine my Rock Lock last night and play that in the tourney. Pooka was already there when we got there, and we played 4 practice games. He had a new deck, which was Metagross/Metagross ex/Registeel ex. I won 1 out of those 4. Bad starts kill rock lock. After awhile Abe, Ice’Cold, Bullados, and ST Pika showed up.


First Round vs. ST Pika

I had an OK start. He got out Ludicolo, and I powered up my Dark Amphy to knock it out. I powered up a Dark TTar, and when we went to sudden death, I used Rocket’s Tricky Gym and Sand Damage to KO the Jirachi on his bench, which had 40 damage on it.

Second Round vs. Pooka

Another OK start. He couldn’t really get going, and a took some early prizes. I used the other Dark TTar to KO 2 of his pokemon towards the end.

Third Round vs. Ice’Cold

Rock Lock vs. Rock Lock. I knew he was playing his brother Jeffrey’s “faster” version of the Lock. I didn’t have a good start at all, so it was a bad game.

Fourth Round vs. Bullados

He had a really slow start and some bad luck. I flipped heads twice when his lone Dratini put me to sleep, and I turn 3 Pidgeot’ed him with a QS for DRE.

Fifth Round vs. Ice’Cold

Hmm….again?! OK…well another crap start. I gave up after about 4 turns. I know that once rock comes out it keeps killing till they’re dead. So anyways, I just kinda fooled around with the deck and tried to mess with adam’s head. He caught me trying to evolve my sparce into a dark ttar…that would’ve been great.

Hey Guys,​

First of all, thanks to all who came, a great event, ran smoothly (I believe), I really appreciate your guy's support for coming to this little poke-less town...lol...and playing a small tourney to promote the game. Its cool cuz we have slowly gained more people for the league, we an all-time hi of 8 people come play for the league this last week around....lol. So Thank You guys very much, I hope you had as good a time as I did. My 1st tourney and it was 99% problem-free, and to those who won, dont worry I was informed that the store owner will get the box this weekend, either weds-thurs and I will send out the prizes this coming weekend. I hope next time we can get more people next time, and here is where we decide what the next tourney format and prizes will be.
Remember, no unlimited, sorry but i can't really handle that kinda format till my experience is top notch. Now I want to have it before any of the prereleases, so anytime from the beginning of April till the beginning of prereleases should be fine. Let me know what you guys think.

Pictures are being uploaded now. Whats wrong with unlimited? Should be exactly the same as modified, and rulings should be difficult at all. Might give local players a chance to play.
 
Yea, I know unlimited is cool, I would be willing to do unlimited...after I get enough experience with modified...Im not against unlimited, so dont worry, im sure I will get that started after I feel like I can pull one of those off...
