Hey all! After a long rest I've desided to finaly do part 2 as promised ^_^
If any of you havn't read part one, HERE is a link...Now for part 2!!!

Well as you just finished reading, in part one, I compared all three deck lists of the Worlds 2004 Champions, and now, i'm going to take my comparisons from before and come up with a single list. And with that list, I will change all the cards that are no longer in the R/S-on modified format and find appropriote subsitutes. And with the Modified list, I will look at cards from sets that came out after Worlds 2004, that would have an impact on this deck, such as Battle Frontiere which stops Claydol's power to move energy.

With out futher a-do, lets begain...

For the pokemon lines, I will use the ones used by both the 11-14 & 15+ Magma decks...please remeber, I already made all comparisons in Part 1, so feel free to go back and take a look at them...
Here's the pokemon list (both 11-14 & 15+ used this exact list)
Pokemon: 15
2 tm Baltoy #60
2 tm Claydol #8
4 tm Groudon #9
1 tm Numel #64
2 tm Camerupt #19
4 tm Zangoose #23

And the Energy...
Energy: 17
6 Fighting (used by the 10- list & the 15+ list)
1 Psychic (used by the 11-14 list & the 15+ list)
4 Dark (used by the 11-14 list & the 15+ list)
4 Magma (used by all three lists)
2 Rainbow (used by all three lists)

When I compared the trainers last time, I seperated them into 4 categories...
(s) = Search Cards (A card that lets you pick something specific out of your deck or discard pile.)

(d) = Draw Cards (cards that let you draw randomly from your deck)

(bc) = Offensive or Defensive board control (Cards like healing cards, or others that switch pokemon)

(o) = Other (something that dosn't fit above)

Here is the final list for the Search Cards
Search: 8
2 Maxie (11-14 & 15+)
2 TM Ball (10- & 15+)
4 tm Conspirator (15+)

All three lists used a different amount of TM Conspirator, so I went with what the 15+ list used.

Draw Cards: 10
3 Steven's Advice (all 3)
2 CopyCat (all 3)
2 TV Reporter (10- & 11-14)
3 Underground Expedition (11-14 & 15+)

The 15+ list used 3 TV reporter, I'll get back to that...This is the hard part...

Board Control: 6
2 Mr. B's Compassion (all 3)
1 Switch (15+)
1 Warp Point (10-)
2 Pokemon Reversal (not one muhahah lol)

ok...the thing is, besides the Mr. B's, everyone had a diffrent list...the 10- had 2 switch 1 Warp Point. The 11-14 had 3 Warp Point, & the 15+ had 1 switch and 3 Pokemon Reversal...so I did a bit of compromising...
And finally...
Others:4
3 Desert Ruins
1 Strength Charm

Once again i had to do some Compromising...10- had 2 Desert Ruins, 11-14 and 2 Desert Ruins & 2 Strength Charm, & the 15+ had 3 Desert Ruins.
Well the final List looks something like this...

Pokemon: 15
2 tm Baltoy #60
2 tm Claydol #8
4 tm Groudon #9
1 tm Numel #64
2 tm Camerupt #19
4 tm Zangoose #23

Energy: 17
6 Fighting
1 Psychic
4 Dark
4 Magma
2 Rainbow

Trainers: 28
Search: 8
2 Maxie
2 TM Ball
4 tm Conspirator
Draw Cards: 10
3 Steven's Advice
2 CopyCat
2 Tv Reporter
3 Underground Expedition
Board Controle: 6
2 Mr. B's Compassion
1 Switch
1 Warp Point
2 Pokemon Reversals
Others:4
3 Desert Ruins
1 Strenght Charm

15 + 17 + 28 = 60 Cards ^_^
so that means I don't need to Fix anything up here, now to change cards to Modified format!!!eleven!!!

Well the only thing we need to change are the 3 Underground Expedition...
I think 3 Professor Cozmo would do the trick...A) because you'd get to draw 2 or 3 cards where U.E only draws 2 and B) You can get cards from the bottom of your deck!!! Secert Japanise Trick...i think not! lol

Now for Cards that might effect this deck that came out since worlds 2004 (anything from Fire Red Leaf Green to Emerald...)
From what I can think of, Battle Frountiere stops Claydols power...that is if you evovled it...you can get around this by playing Claydol down with Maxie. So my first suggestions is to take out both Baltoy, and put in either 1 or 2 more maxie...if you put in 1 maxie, then you can either put in a 3rd claydol, another Desert Ruins or perhaps something else...I'd either put in 2 maxie or a maxie and a desert ruins....
For the sake of this lets just say I went with a 3rd maxie and a 4th Desert Ruins. And now, since we are not hurt by Battle Frontiere, why not use it since it counters Dragtrode, Rocklock, and decks with pidgeot.
Desert Ruins counters alot of the "turn 2 decks" like Muk, Medicham, and Zapdos ex.....I say take out 2 desert ruins and put in 2 battle frontiere to widen your range.

Another card that could help with the consistence of your starts is swoop! teleporter. this alows you to discard one of you basic pokemon on the field and replace it with one from your deck...aka a Groudon Start with swoop can be turned into a Zangoose start...+ you can always get your Groudon back with Maxie. I say 3 is a good number to use, but it's realy up too you what you want to take out. I'm thinking either Strenght Charm, and possibly the 2 Reversels...yea lets go with that for now...

Besides those cards I can't think of anything else that would have such a Major Impact on this deck...so lets take a look at it After the Changes...

Pokemon: 13
2 tm Claydol #8
4 tm Groudon #9
1 tm Numel #64
2 tm Camerupt #19
4 tm Zangoose #23

Energy: 17
6 Fighting
1 Psychic
4 Dark
4 Magma
2 Rainbow

Trainers: 30
Search: 9
3 Maxie
2 TM Ball
4 tm Conspirator
Draw Cards: 10
3 Steven's Advice
2 CopyCat
2 TV Reporter
3 Professor Cozmo's Discovery
Board Controle: 7
2 Mr. B's Compassion
1 Switch
1 Warp Point
3 Swoop! Teleporter
Others:4
2 Desert Ruins
2 Battle Frontier

And there we have it folks, That's how I'd Mix up Magma to Modified!
Feel free to post what you would change and why, or even your predictions to how Magma will do this year!
Enjoy!

(hey it only took me an hour and a half this time ^_^)

no i was looking at metagross ex's post and i think he was sincerely asking if they would be playing it again,so i did this: ...
but a nice modified magma aticle altogther

Ah, thanks ^_^, I know for a fact they won't be played nearly as much this time round, but there will be SOMEone who will play it, just cause it won last year...The deck dosn't have nearly as many good match-ups as last year...

I didn't mean that Japan would play it necessarily.

Ah nice one again Sdrawkcab

Magma did mix up the modified format, i have a theory about why the **** played magma!
But i'll tell that later.

Good Job Once Again,

Tom

Yeah, I wish magma was as good as it once was.
It has to be one of my favorate decks ever built by man.
I mean come on, a deck that runs Phychic/Fire/Fighting/Colorless pokemon, not to mention it runs so smoothly and has advantage cuz of weakness.......

It had to be some genius who came up with that deck.

or a 6 year old who got some nice magma cards at his pre-release :p
I wonder if magma could win vs T2..
anyway, the type advantages are pretty much gone now..
