QFT. I've surprised a few opponents by using the little old 'weak' first attack Flame Blast for some heavy damage.

yeah, ive done double scramble when they thought theyd take 90(DRE and scramble) i instead slapped on a second scramble and did 120 and then added a fire and did bazooka the next urn.

prefer sw. Its second attack is like lucario's, but with one more energy, it does more damage and hit extra pokemon

SW one for SURE. It's infinitely better.

SW for sure is better. And, water types aren't really common any more.

On Magmortar SW, it's ENERGY, not ENERGY CARDS. That's why it's such an incredibly good attacker - Double Rainbow and Scramble make it incredible.

Was that necessary? I love the SW card and KNOW why it is 'infinitely better', but there is no need to be insulting because I played ONE MT.

It is all personal preference and that is what the thread author was asking. I do like Smoke bomb on the MT but I just couldn't get it to work in my deck after I switched to mostly SW and dropped the Magbys.

Magmortar SW is way better than it'sMT counter part for these main reasons, It has a poke-body and its a good poke-body mind you, its attack does 60 for 3 energies and it doesn't need to be evolved from magby, its fireball bazokka is pretty good to. 4 and 2 20s's are amazing... and it has 110 HP not 100

The only thing that is even slightly good about magmortar MT is because of its smoke ball attack... but that isn't worth having in, and not having it in makes the deck more consistant and better.

WHY would you be "planning" a deck but not know which main guy you want to use? SW Magmortar is the good one.
