Majestic Dawn Ideas?

Hey, I guess on the official japanese battle road site, they just revealed 4 new promos. 1 is a reprint of E08 pikachu and then there's a Dusknoir, Buck's training (bill combined with 2 pluspowers,) and Cynthia's Hope. With the last three, the rest of the Dusknoir line, and burmy plant cloak (for mothim,) the total comes up to 97. LM and DR both had around this many cards, so this could be a pretty realistic list. I bet there will be over 100 though.

EDIT: Actually, I just realized 6 more cards that could be in the set. In Japan they have promos of Dialga, Palkia, and the 3 Sinnoh starters with pokemon tool card abilities. They also have an alternate version of Manaphy. You can/could get them through something called Player Club. It seems kinda unlikely, but what if those cards (and any other Japanese promos that we've missed from the DP era) end up in the set? I think that'd be awesome.:thumb:

Hmm, well, consider the fact that those player club promos were in Power Keepers and that is a likely theory.

Well that's awesome. I always hated how Japan got so many cards that we didn't; maybe that's gonna change. I hope so. BTW, what were the player club cards in PK?

If I remember correctly, it was just Vaporeon *, Flareon *, and Jolteon *. Which are kinda special cases.

I seriously doubt that the recently revealed Battle Road promos will be in Majestic Dawn, if simply because it's too soon. They obviously won't put two Pikachus with the same attacks but different art in the set (The alt art will likely be a promo of some sort), and there's no reason for them to make new Duskull/Dusclops/Burmy/Bronzor to go along with the japanese promos. Remember, there was a Weavile in Secret Wonders but no Sneasel.
As for the supporters - if you take a quick glance at the Japanese DP5 set list, you'll see that they're in there. The battle road promos are either alternate art or just holo versions of them. Since they're in japanese DP5, they won't be in our Majestic Dawn; they'll be in our version of JPN DP5.

So... yeah. The recently revealed cards won't be in Majestic Dawn, except *maybe* Dusknoir. Maybe. My guess is they'll hold him off till our sixth DP set, or, more likely, throw him in POP 8 or something.
I'm going to say POP 8 for the Pokemon tool Players club cards as well.

Yeah, I just noticed that Buck's Training is in the Japanese DP5. Well, as long as we get the cards, I'm happy.

Oh yeah, actually BT, there is a new Bronzor in Entry Pack 08 which would go along perfectly with the blister pack promo Bronzong. Only time will tell...

Ah, I forgot that the Entry Pack 08 had a bunch of random basics. You're right, it would make sense for them to put that Bronzor and Bronzong together.
On that note, then, possible America-first cards might be the evolutions of some of those other random basics:
-Lopunny
-Lickilicky
-Drifblim (Unlikely; there's one in JPN DP5)
-Purugly (Unlikely; there was one in GE)
-Ambipom (There's probably going to be one anyways; it was one of the GE cuts)
-Staraptor

Well, I'm not exactly sure, just a body and a 50 for 3 attack I think. But the strange thing about it is that it has a resistance to fire. This is because of that one ability it can have in the DS games that gives it a small resistance to fire and ice attacks. It's a psychic type, by the way.

The ability is called "Heatproof", and it's something beyond "small" resistance, it like halves the effectiveness of fire moves (thus cancelling out Bronzong's weakness); but we're talking cards here. Credit to the beach.

Bronzong Lv.44 - Psychic - 90 HP
Stage 1 - Evolves from Bronzor

Poke-Body: Cursed Alloy - As long as this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, in between turns, place 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokemon that has any Poke-Powers.
[.] Damage Amplifier: Place 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Pokemon that already has damage counters on it.
[P][C][C] Coating: 60 damage. During your opponent's next turn, any damage done to Bronzong by attacks is reduced by 20.

Weakness: Psychic (+20)
Resistance: Fire (-20)
Retreat: 3

I really like it.

It's good, but I don't know how it "revives" Empoleon. It has to be active to use the body, has 3 retreat, and does what Prinplup already does.

Imagine this one active in a 2on2 with Prinplup and Ampharos on the bench... it'll be Steelix-KOs-5-at-once all over again! :p

We need that Dusknoir. :/

If we don't get it, Nationals and Worlds will be dominated by G&G and Garchomp Lv.X with no space for other decks. ._.

I even don't need to know what its power and attack side effect does to say that it's a great counter against both decks.

And 91 cards are too few for a whole set. They have to add something, and the Battle Road promos (along with the Winter Challenge stuff - Leafeon & Glaceon) would be perfect to fill the set up to a good amount of cards. In addition to that, we would have everything except for Temple of Anger / Cry from the Mysterious and could get the full and unmodified Japanese DP-5 as our DP-6 to finish the DP season.

I couldn't agree more, ShadowGuard. I hope this year's modified doesn't get turned into a 1 card dominated format like unlimited has been for years (that dang Sneasel...)
