Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Making a strong team 6

SO how exactly do i get dragonites hidden ability?

Ok so tell me 1 more time what do i do to breed dratini and gastly to get the requirements I'm seeking for?
Tell me the step by step instructions?

ok- for Dragonite to be breed in Heart Gold/Soul Silver you will need to:

Have a Dratini and any partner Pokémon to breed in the daycare until you have an offspring that has the Adamant nature. If you can, try to get the IV's of 31 in both Attack and Speed.

After you have breed the Dratini to be the right nature and at least high IV (say 27-31) 31- preferred, you are ready to EV train. In heartgold/soulsilver, Dragonite has only one ability, Inner Focus. I suggested Marvel Scale for if you choose to use White/Black.

Use items like the Vitamins (10 each ) in Attack and Speed to boost those two stats and to make EV training take even less time. You will need to EV train for Attack and Speed of course.

After you are done EV training the Dratini/Dragonier to level 53- it will learn Dragon Dance. Then just level it up to evolve into Dragonite.

For Earthquake- use the TM
For Ice and Thunderpunch- you will need to go to the Move tutors in the game to get those two attacks onto Dragonite.

The idea is to on your first turn out is to take a hit, regardless. You will need to use Dragon dance to boost Dragonites speed and attack. The Yatche berry is there for just in case your first opposing opponent attack is Ice, you should survive the hit. Even if at first you used Dragon dance before your opponents attacked- it is worth the trade off to get the mass boost in speed and attack.

If you are able to use one of the three attacks to hit for a weakness- and got in the dragon dance first thing- turn two does not look promising for your opponent.

This Dragonite is easy to breed for, easy to EV train, quick leveling up if you have ev trained at the lower levels, and is really easy to obtain the attacks you want.

This build is also universal for the three battles: single, 2/2, and 3/3.

For your 2/2 and 3/3 battles- you must be able to work in that in the first turn that Dragonite will need that first turn for Dragon Dance, so think about that for how you will attack in those battles so that you can get in that boost for the much needed OHKO ranges.

ok well since I'm using heart gold (For now) eventually I'll trade my pokemon to White version and eventually to x/y version.

The final results will be X/Y version since that's the modern game for tournament.

Now when I get a LV 1 dratini and it is the right Nature/ability how do I make sure the Stats are right?
Let's say the numbers of the stats are wrong right off the bat from breeding?

Also how do I know if dragonite has that hidden ability? How would I test that out?

At what point do i give my pokemon Protein, carbos etc to boost the stats? is their a Certain way to time it right?
Should I max it out at LV 1 or do 1 item every 10 lvs or something?

What would get me the most out of it?

Also what pokemon do I compete against for the IV/ev train?

Also now what with Gastly?

You will not be able to obtain the hidden ability Marvel Scale in heart gold soul silver- but you can in White/black. If you are wanting the hidden ability, you will need to breed in white/black version for the Dratini to have it's hidden ability at hatching. If you want to know if the nature is correct- you will need to hatch the egg- to increase the chance of having the nature you want, have the mother parent hold the Everstone which has the Adamant nature. To make sure you have the right IV stats of 31- you will need to use an IV calculator, after you have used 49 rare candies on the Dratini to get it to level 50 (for best results): this is how you do the rare candy deal: Save the game. Hatch the egg, and use the 49 rare candies on the Dratini. When the Dratini is at level 50, put the information into an IV calculator and it will tell you the IV stats. Once you see that the IV's are 31, reset the game- as in do not save, you will be able to keep those rare candies for testing. Save before you use the candies!

Let's say the numbers of the stats are wrong right off the bat from breeding?

Hatch the egg, then rare candy the pokemon to level 50, use the IV calculator to see the IV stats- if they are 31- reset the game and then proceed to ev train the stats.

Level one (1) is perfect, as it gets in the ev's right away. Then ev train as normal after you use the 20 vitamins. 10 for attack, 10 for speed.

is their a Certain way to time it right?

no

Should I max it out at LV 1 or do 1 item every 10 lvs or something?

at level 1, use the 20 vitamins.

What would get me the most out of it?

not certain as to what you are asking here, sorry....

Also what pokemon do I compete against for the IV/ev train?

for attack- battle Machokes
for speed- battle Magikarps

Also now what with Gastly?

replies are in red- I will get back to you on the Gastly soon...........

There are some key responses I would like to have with you but I'm in a rush right now so I'll reply later sunday.
But just 1 quick question

Do i still continue to breed dratini in heartgold till i have adamnant then trade to white and breed it again?

If anything- make your entire team on White version. If you happen to have an Adamant natured Dratini in HH/SS- trade it over to White.

Gastly

Modest nature
Levitate ability
Focus sash hold item
31 IV speed, 31 IV special Attack
252 ev in speed, 252 in special attack, 4 in hit point

Thunderbolt
Sludge bomb
Parish song
destiny bond

For Gangar, you can face almost anything with the build I suggested in being single/2vs2/3vs3-

if you want- Ice Punch (physical attack) or Icy Wind ( special attack) will be ok to have on Ganagr. The thing though is, that Ganagr has a way better special attack stat then physical, so ice punch is ok but not hard hitting. Icy Wind- not much really there since it will reduce the speed on opposing Pokémon, but won't hit to hard.

You want singles build- perhaps ice punch is better option over sludge bomb, and Shadowball for STAB over destiny bond.

If the main focus for Ganagr is for Parish Song, you will need to focus around that aspect and consider that for your 2/2 and 3/3 battles- Ganager does need to be able to live for 2/2 and 3/3 battles.

Thus, my suggestions is all for the above recommended build to suit the flexability and best use for being able to battle in all three categories.

I'll take that under consideration.
I'll also be looking at the other attacks for gengar.

Now what other 2 pokemon should I work with?

Is there anyway I can keep breeding and breeding until I have another pokemon wiht perish song?

Perhaps Spiritomb or dusknoir? Or some other pokemon that breeds with any pokemon with perish song?
You know a constant breeding until i get it right?

In Pokémon White- Misdreavus learns Perish Song by leveling up, at level 46 actually. Misdreavus can be caught at Abundant Shrine at level 48 (which it will have Perish Song in it's move set)- or trade over a Misdreavus and level it up- however/whatever works best to get Misdreavus onto White version to get Perish Song.

Use Misdreavus to breed with Gastly in order to pass on Perish Song to the Gastly offspring. Gastly will be female for the breeding, of course. Once you have a Male Perish Song Gastly, use it to breed with the female Gastly to pass on Perish Song, and, if at all possible the right nature by holding the Everstone on the female Gastly.

No I meant can I have gastly with perish song or any pokemon with perish song for that matter keep cross breeding until a certain pokemon that normally would not have it now have perish song?

Example best to my knowledge spiritomb, dusknoir and sabelye and claydol dont know perish song.
Is it possible to breed misdreavus with gastly then gastly with another pokemon and so on and so on until I have the desired pokemon (another ghost/levitiate type) have perish song that normally would not have it?

according to bulbapedia only a few pokemon can have perish song.

Is it possible to to a chain of breeding until sucession?

Here is a list of all the Pokémon that can learn Perish Song in B/W versions, found here: http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-xy/perishsong.shtml

This is the best way I can reply.

Compliments to Serebii for the info.

If you want to know what Pokémon can learn Perish Song in what version of the game, you can toggle it for the region you need for reference.
You will need to work with the Pokémon for your team with in each version that can Learn/have the move, as the move itself will not go onto any Pokémon just by continues breeding. There is no way to put a move on a Pokémon it can not learn or have it breed/tutored onto.

For Gyardos- do you plan to ever Megevolve it?

And, still centered on EQ-

also, hold item(s) have been a small "hang up" for double/triple- so, should I suggest an item for Singles and then based on what format/rules you choose you can toggle the hold items accordingly?

no mega evolves on any pokemon.
Unless mega gyrados mega evolve doesnot effect it's levitate of course.

Not sure what the down effects of megaevolve gyrados is.

Yes still EQ

sure i;ll take suggestions to held items.

^ OK, so a definite no on megavolving, as it loses levitate in the process. (well, loses Flying type, keeps intimidate)--

I am working to combine the best of the builds for the battles, it will need to lose/change move sets between the styles- so, as long as you can change it up and swap the hold items and the move set(s) will be TM or tutor moves, this will be based to build on a simple 252/252/4 Adamant Nature-

remember this about the move sets for the hold item, the hold item could stay or go for the build for the battle the Gyrados will be in-

I will fill in the move sets, like I said for a build on an Adamant nature with a 252 attack, 252 speed, 4 hit point EV spread with ??/31/??/??/??/31 IV need.-

I will get the move sets in here soon-
