Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

MD Hippowdon...hot or not?

Z is inefficient to play right now. I built it for fun to see how it ran, and it was a load of fun. Very fast, very quick to build thanks to his 2 colorless and he evolves from a great stage 1. The problem is he is a luck based pokemon. I can't count how many times I flipped a 3 tails flip. I even liked playing Meganium as a flip based card more because at least there was some damage being dealt (And I almost made a top cut with Megan in a cities and it placed 2nd at a Battle Road.)

If there was some base damage, Z would be a little better. In the long run, I still think its a fun card, it works with Magneton very well, and with a level X, he definitely has some potential, since the LX has some very effective powers. Compared to Hippo, its still way better as it evolves from a great Stage 1, is colorless so it can pretty much mix with anything, it can turn into anything, and works very well with LB. (I hit a Gallade for um.. 240. .XD) Its use isn't practical yet, but it could turn into something effective, now that you only will want to run a 3-3-3-1 line.

Its still a ton of fun to play though.

Infernape is... Better at attacking but i guess it isn't flipy. Oh well 1 scramble for 120, which is 10 more thn you if you flipped all heads. But i guess infernape has to discard, oh well.

This Hippowdon would be about three times as good if it had 10 more HP and therefore weren't so Flame-Busterable.

It's an interesting card, but merely average in my opinion. Its first attack might be okay with Swampert as an energy accelerator for a fighting-type deck, but that seems to be the only really good thing about it. The retreat cost and HP though just aren't appealing to me.

Sorry about being a nay-sayer, but it just looks like a Blissey with less HP to me.

Sure, it looks like it could be fun. But I don't think it'll see serious play.
