Well, gee, Idk maybe we could use this to MAKE the energy for the Lv. X? I mean, I get to use 3 energy for 120 damage+ with Pluspowers etc, and then I get to return them to my deck with Flare Up? Who could have POSSIBLY forseen THAT combo?
 
This and Togekiss could make a potential broken deck.
First you deal insane amounts of damage with the MD Ape, then use the Lv. X. Turn after, Togekiss, prolly get 6-8 energies (at least later in the game) attach to pokes. Repeat.

Maybe Empoleon will overpower this though. Who knows.
 
That Infernape may well be better than its DP counterpart, for reasons mentioned above. I like it. The fact that it's a non-holo rare is cool in itself.

I definitely want to see more MD scans, especially the Lvl. X's.

that with the newest blaze (and probably the rs one yes) will make an awsome deck!!! havn't been on in ages, this is a nice 'comeback to the gym' suprise!
 
Wow, with Scramble's effect, 120 damage! That's good for a comeback. After the release of this set, I wonder what will be played more; Magmortar or Infernape?

What I find most interesting about this is the free retreat (making it very like Raichu already posted). It can jump to the bench back and forth while the energy just sits there.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Furret? I think Furret would be good because:

  • General fast setup.
  • Pull the scrambles out and then they are safe when played down.
  • Scapegoat Furret for the big 120.
  • Free retreat means energy stays and drops can be used carefully.
  • Baton pass setup is plausible and effective.
  • Not another stage two. Two lines is simple.
  • No poké-powers or poké-bodies so you can use cessation crystal.

I'm not sure how badly it would lose to Gardy-lock?

no, it says discard FIRE energy. rainbow energys do not count towards this.

the only problem i see with this is that once you use it once, you have to give your opponent like 2 turns, even with typhlosion, to power it up again. and late game, you will be screwed cuz all yer energies will be in discard while you are not powering it fast enough with typhlosion. even togekiss doesnt work, as it only works once. sure, youll do alot of damage, but only once.

I give it a B+.

Rainbows are still Fires. You not only CAN discard Rainbows for the damage, you MUST discard Rainbows for the damage (as it states "all"). It's the same logic that allows DP Ape to attack for 80 with a DRE, and then the DRE MUST be discarded.

Actually, that leads to a REALLY fun idea involving Multi and DRE. I wonder if it could work...

Sorry, you are the one that is incorrect.
If it had said "discard all Basic :fire: energy cards", then Scramble and Rainbow wouldn't count.
 
So with so many cards wanting a Stack effect on the bench and now with even more sniping, CG Dugtrio just went up in prices!

Nice Ape.... too bad it didn't get at least 120 HP!

Oh, I understand. That's just the interpretation I got from the way some of the people where talking. And yes I am very sick of GG and Mag.
