Miami is still the only perfect team in NFL history! NY Giants Win SB LXII

Me too!

I won bets vs my Girlfriend and my Brother!!

I had no real favorite, but I was kind of rooting for the Pats cuz my friend was lol. Great game. I was worried that it would get to the 2nd quarter and it would be certain who would win. I'm glad I wasen't dissapointed. Congratulations to the Mannings, and of course, PLAX. What a catch, PLAX!

Wha about the DSRL Championships???

I was at the game. Quarters 1 - 3 wasnt all that exciting, but the last quarter was amazing. It went back and forth and made the game a classic. We were sitting in the upper deck and the seats were amazing. We were lucky to see all but 1 scoring play at our endzone. The New England TD that gave them the 14-10 lead was the only TD not in front of us. I was pretty happy to see the Pats lose to the Giants.

The Dolphins deserve the attention they get bc they are the ONLY team in NFL history to finish the job! BTW, back then, best record didnt get you home field adv. in the playoffs. The Fins had to go on the road to win the AFC championship. That wont ever happen again. Likewise, their starting QB (Griese.....HOF) broke his leg in week 5 and Earl Morrell came off the bench to lead them the rest of the way to the playoffs until Griese returned in the playoffs.

IF the other teams were sooooo great, why didnt they go unbeaten? (Dont say tougher schedules bc the NFL determines the schedules from the season before and your finish in that season) You can only play and beat who the NFL lines up in front of you.

So, wait...you're actually going to rank the '72 Dolphins above those other teams I listed just because they were unbeaten?

That's a joke, right? It's neat that the planets aligned for them, but they were not that good. They were an average team that had an amazing season. It happens sometimes. But they would have been smoked by any of the truly great teams.

Glad to see the Giants win!

And House afterwards was great.

No one will remember the Pats in 2 yrs. Can anyone tell me who lost the SB 2 yrs ago? (w/o thinking more than a minute?) You gotta finish the job to go down in history.

Keith

Everyone will always remember how the huge underdog won the game. Years from now some people will not remember who won this one but who lost it.

I am a Big Manning fan. Archie was the geatest QB ever but no real team to prove it. There were bigger MVP's in this game. The rookie Smith, Davis, and without the defense putting the pressure on brady then the Giants don't win this game. The front line gave Manning time to play. But still the defense is the MVP.

Go "72" fish.

Another one jumps on the bandwagon with his first post ever about the team.

I'm getting reports that Chuck Norris secretly replaced Eli during the second half...

And also, if the Patriots "Cheat"...wouldn't they have won?

^The Coaches on the Giants were covering their mouths when they talked on their headsets, so the Patriots couldn't tell what they were saying, The Patriots just got outplayed.

Believe it or not, I did see someone in Giants uniform sitting on the bench who looked EXACTLY like Chuck Norris. I also believe I saw Tom Brady in a Giants outfit at the end when they were bringing the trophy down so all the players could touch it. i guess Brady really wanted that trophy...

the giants dropped the dang ball soooo many times.
but it was an awesome game.
i knew that the giants would win.
the patriots got too cocky, star fox...

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Bob Kuechenberg (C) should have made the HOF this year, along w/ Ray Guy, the best punter ever (Raiders....same era)

Agreed!

And don't I feel old just knowing who these guys are :(

Sparta said it best. The G-men outplayed the Pats.- they seemed
to want it more.

And LOL at Bianchi!

John: Not sad to know (and to have watched them play!), be GLAD! Too many players flip-flopping from teams. Real teams were built in the past, not bought, like a Moss, Seau, A Thomas Welker et al.

Dont get me wrong, the Pats are an excellant team, but many of their parts are bought, not developed.

Kaga: Yes, I would rank the Fins at the top. Did any of those other teams you listed lose? Yes, they did. So, they were not as "good". I will not bend from that position. Welcome to Perfectville, population 1. It isnt like the Fins were a splash in the pan. They played the Cowpokes in the SB the year before, so back to back SBs arent bad, winning the 2nd in unbeaten fashion. Heck, they were even underdogs to the Skins in the SB in '72! The Fins would have had the only shutout in SB history, if Garo Yapremian doesnt try to turn into a QB, instead of staying a K.

NFL security confiscated a video camera and its tape from a New England Patriots employee on the team's sideline during Sunday's game against the Jets in a suspected spying incident, sources said.

The camera and its tape were placed in a sealed box and forwarded to the league office for investigation, the sources said.

"The rule is that no video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game," the league said in a statement from spokesman Greg Aiello. "Clubs have specifically been reminded in the past that the videotaping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals on the sidelines is prohibited.

"We are looking into whether the Patriots violated this rule."

The Patriots' cameraman was suspected of aiming his camera at the Jets' defensive coaches who were sending signals to their unit on the field, the sources said. The league also is investigating some radio frequency issues that occurred during the game.

The league's competition committee could conduct a conference call about the incident, which violates NFL policy, and ultimately recommend a penalty that could cost the Patriots a future draft pick or picks if it verifies that the team was spying on the Jets.

It's not their first time.

• Chris Mortensen says the Pats could lose future draft picks if the allegations prove true. Listen
"It's not their first time," a member of the committee, who did not wish to be identified, said.

In fact, Green Bay Packers president Bob Harlan confirmed a similar incident that occurred when the Patriots played at Lambeau Field last Nov. 19. The same cameraman who was questioned by NFL security on Sunday was also the one whom the Packers removed from the sideline and escorted from the field during their 2006 game, according to Packers security official Doug Collins.

"From what I can remember, he had quite a fit when we took him out," Harlan said. "We had gotten word before the game that they [the Patriots] did this sort of thing, so we were looking for it."

A Jets official declined comment Monday, directing an inquiry to the league office.

"There is an investigation going on now, and perhaps an adjudication of it, and I think it would be inappropriate at this time to make any comment," Patriots chairman and CEO Robert Kraft said Tuesday after a charity appearance at an area supermarket.

"With anything along those lines, those are all league-related matters, and anything that deals with an issue like this or anything on a team-by-team basis, those all go to the league," coach Eric Mangini said in his news conference Monday.

New England cornerback Ellis Hobbs said he was unaware of the controversy, and unwilling to believe his team had cheated.

"We put too many hours in as individuals and a team to have to go out and cheat," he said. "If it's true, obviously, we're in the wrong. But I'm standing behind my team, my coaches. I don't think we do that stuff."

Chris Mortensen covers the NFL for ESPN. Information from The Associated Press contributed to this story.

Keith, it's not possible to build a team in this era. The structure of Free Agency almost completely prevents the forming of a dynasty like the 70s Steelers, 60s Packers, 80s 49ers, and 90s Cowboys. It's remarkable that the Pats have won 3 SBs and gone to 4 with very different rosters each time.
