Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Most impressive collections.

OK, let's see what else...

I'll skip the complete collections of all sets, regular and parallel foil/1st Edition (except for a few missing Base Set 1st Ed cards).

interesting decks, packs, & giants:

3 Trainer Deck B
2 Trainer Deck A
2 packs of WB promo cards
3 Demo packs
2 e-reader tickets (to unlock Lati@s)
2 Giant Sneasel "Banned at the STS" cards (had all 4. sold one, gave one to Gym Leader Blaine for holding them for me). Five feet tall, the ones displayed at the 2001 STSs.
3 Giant cards: Horsea, Seadra, & Kingra, all delta species. About 2 feet tall each
all Staff Promos released since the beginning (forget what set that started with) included all Nationals and Worlds
all 9-card sets of all Worlds promos

interesting signed cards:

Shadowless Base Set Charizard signed by the artist
Shadowless Base Set Blastoise signed by the artist
Championship Arena promo signed by the two creators of Pokemon (signed on the stage after they presented the winners with their awards!)
Imakuni's Dodrio singed by Imakuni?
Lucky Stadium signed by Imakuni?
Tropical Wind (2004) signed by Imakuni? (note: These were all signed by him in different years and dated at Worlds or Tropical Mega Battle)
Speaking of the TMB, just got a Tropical Mega Battle playmat (rough shape, though)

Error cards:
(only listing the rare/valuable ones. Assume I have the easy ones)

"1st Ed" Pikachu Black Star 1
E3 Pikachu (red cheeks/shadowless)
Dark Persian promo (no HP)
Diglett Base Set (sideways energy symbol)
Wartortle Base Set (evolves from... Wartortle?)
Dark Dragonite #5 (holo missing the holo!)
Ancient Mew (copyright "Nintedo")
Base Set Square cuts: Alakazam & Ninetales
Mysterious Treasures "half square cuts": about a dozen different holos from that set with some duplicates.

That's it for now. I'll add some of my Japanese cards if there's interest, but I don't have any of the super rare ones of these, with the possible exception of the Vending Sheet #0 cards, and maybe my sheets.

What are sample card sets? And Im not sure if those exist in the us, we had some chrismas present thing here which contained 24 cards that had a snowfloke stamped on them, would those be considered rare as well :p? And are all the vs cards rare? I have 2 Darkness Energys in Foil from that set, used to play them but cant anymore :/

Sample cards were printed by Nintendo in violation of the WotC contract. Used to demonstrate the e-Reader. Very limited quantities were printed. Given out to a select few at the Pokemon Center in NYC and some in Europe.

I have the snowflake set. They were on sale in Canada, but not the US.

The VS Japanese cards are not rare.
However, if you have some that were printed in a different language for one of the Tropical Mega Battle, those are very rare.

Here's images of an English set given to SteveP's son at that event:

Wow Pop, nice collection.
I had never even heard of the Jumbo Horsea, Seadra, Kingdra line, where did those come from?

David Persin of California has what should be the most impressive collection of all time: Nearly every English Pokemon card ever printed. David is the guy that buys the No. 1, 2 and 3 Trainer cards after Worlds each year. His collection is missing only a few prized cards, like the No. 1 Trainer and No. 3 Trainer from 2004.

I always tell David he should take a picture of his collection. No one has seen it yet.

I put Mr Persin at #3 on my list, it is definatly the most impressive English collection of all time.
Like I put, it's only the fact that he doesn't collect Japanese cards which kept him from the top.

He's also a really nice guy (as are all the people on my first list, apart from the on who's a really nice girl haha) and it was great to meet him in Hawaii.

Also the cards he said he was missing were:
2004 Number 1
2004 Number 3
2007 Number 2

I know some others who've talked with him more than I have and they said they weren't sure if he has the English VS set or not, but he didn't mention that at Worlds.

Hey Dj why did you make this thread when we already have a thread about collections? What is the point of this thread exactly:confused:

The other thread was about what cards we added to our collections, this topic was about other people who's collections we found impressive.

It just happened to draw some people out of the woodwork about what their collections did contain.

shupunto, absolutely awesome! Why have you bolded some? Are those the ones you feel are most impressive?

(Also, I'm not your friend flaunting your full Pal Cities and Masaki promos at me but that's kinda because I'm jealous and want them so much )

I'm a collector, but I'm simply not into paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for a single card.

However, I do possess an RH TV Reporter from EX Dragon, as well as a Japanese Grand Party promo, a complete shadowless Base Set, a Lugia ex, many *s including 2x Charizard d *, and plenty more.

Mozz had an extremely impressive collection.

I myself had a "Impressive" collection at one point with everything from:

Base set shadowless to Legend awakened complete ,even had the different print numbers for the commons(3 of each per set) and uncommons (2 of each) for those sets that had them.(that took forever!!!)

All WofC promos
All jumbos
All Nintendo promos
Alll DP Promos
All HGSS to date
1st/ed ivy pikachu
E3 red cheeks pikachu
E3 yellow cheeks pikachu
E3 eon ticket sealed
prerelease clefable
Creator pack sealed
Complete sealed set of pokepark promos (individually packaged.)
Green and blue pokepark folders

all prerelease cards (except the raichu of course) and all staff that ever came out
2008 snowflake advent calendar x2 (one opened and one sealed)
All city, state, regionals, nationals promos + staff promos from 2004 up to date
alot of the japanese movie promos
sealed japanese pikachu Lv.X package

Every worlds set from 04 -09 plus top 32, top 16, quarter's, a couple semi's and all staff cards. (recently sold all to Mr Pratte :thumb:)

Wolrds 2010 finalist card (sold to Mr Pratte)
Worlds 2010 quarter finalist
worlds 2010 staff
worlds 2010 set/binder

wolrds swag like you wouldn't believe x2

my most prized card that is not mentioned to often, anywhere for that matter, is the Stadium Challenge Deoxys. I mean I have alot of rare cards but to me this one is a prize as it is very limited, only 1 stadium chapllenge that year, and who knows howe many are still mint. I have seen 3 go up on ebay and 2 of those being mine. I know the guy who sold me the last one and he wants it back BADLY!!! LOL Don't get this confused with the regional championship deoxys which was massively printed.

Didn't Will-iam have a PR Raichu @ one point or another?

And my collection, well, I've got a deck :).

Dogma,

Ya I highlighted the ones I thought were rare. I've been collecting for a long time and theres still so many cards I want. Obviously, money is an issue. I'm trying to sell my duplicates right now. I wish I knew you were looking for Masaki and Pal City cards, I just sold an Masaki Omastar and Pal City Hitmonchan + Magikarp and Pal City Snover + Teddiursa. Sorry :( I might be getting some Masaki promos soon though. I'll let you know.

Wow, congrats to those who have all those trophy cards! I don't collect those (yet). A while back I posted a slideshow of my collection on YouTube through 2009 (every complete master set Base-Arceus + an attached promo vid = 10,005 unique English cards). Since 2010 I have complete master sets of HGSS and Unleashed, and the Base Set of Undaunted complete, currently totaling more than 10,700 unique cards. However I recently found out about and started to complete a 4th print Base Set with copyright ©1999-2000 Wizards. I only lack 9 holos from this set, possibly 10 depending on Machamp. I'm still trying to verify whether the Machamp is included in the 4th print run, perhaps someone here knows?
