Im always collection pokemon, since the base set but never played the game. I have no idea how to start building a deck, and would like to build one to start playing online. I have about 50 codes, and 30 codes from plasma freeze. Any tips on what packs to buy with the 50 codes and would anyone care to share a deck to start out playing?

With the code changes coming shortly, you will be stuck with whatever booster the code came in.

The game gives you some basic decks of pretty much every type except Metal, Dark, and Psychic.

If you enter the names of the last 3 sets (with no spaces) you get another deck.
This deck is called Power Relay & has a pretty decent Eel set-up.

My suggestion is to play the Trainer Challenge with all the decks it gives you.
Once you do that against 7 opponents on each deck, you can take those apart to get the better cards.

Play on Expert level & try to get 4 stars against each trainer.
That way you get free boosters as well.

Make sure to log out & log in every day to get free tokens (will be redeemable for boosters/starters soon), and free boosters.

I think once you redeem all your codes & get familiar with the rules & deck types you can probably come up with a deck you are comfortable playing.

Anything in the Black & White legal list.

Though you probably want to focus on what kind of deck you want to run to focus your card selections.
Since if you unlock all those decks I mentioned, you get at least 2 of alot of "staple" cards.

Stuff like Level Ball, Ultra Ball, Hammers, Catchers, Skyla, Colress, Cheren, Bianca, Juniper.

Plasma Freeze & Plasma Storm only unlock those boosters.
If you want Dragon Vault you need codes from those.

Since the cut-off date is today, not sure if they will let you keep booster credits.

If you like dragons you can try running 4 swablu 4 altaria 4 gible grabite garchomp. It's a fun and potentially quick set up deck. Use grabite with dragon call will get you whatever dragon you make need. Garchomp with dragonblade does 100 for 2 energy which is amazing. And for each altaria you have on the bench you dragon attacks will do 20 more damage to the opponents active Pokemon. Imagine doing 120 -180 damage for only 2 energy. All cards are from dragons exalted set. It's fun but I haven't done to well against top competitive decks.
