Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

New Pokemon series to begin next week?

Actually, I always kinda liked it, simply because it's so stupid. That, and they've been doing various things to it lately -- interruptions, the fast-forward, etc.

i con cur. TR is great. ALthough i dont like the color change of Jessie's hair with the new animation, brock's too...other than that i think the new animation is a leap forward!

So i guess for sure we know that this week didnt start the ADV gen. My bet is in 2 weeks tho. Since the Silver conf is going to be aired this upcoming weekday week, that would finish off the season for all but one ep. Leaving that one for next Sat. So by this logic, i fortell the ADV gen to start in 2 weeks exactly.

Saturday's episode was a definite breath of fresh air in the storytelling department. Kinda makes me wonder if the writers had been watching some of the latter Evangelion episodes or something just before writing it.

Nah, the later Eva eps were about existance and the point of life and things like that. The last Pokémon ep was about Larvitar being traumatized and then un-traumatized.

On a related note: we need to see more Tyranitars in the series.

I meant in a more general sense. Semi-unorthodox imagery sorta reminded me of episodes 25 and 26 (TV series, not End of Evangelion). And the episode seemed to have a little bit of angst to it, which usually doesn't exist in Pokemon.

I concur with Orange Soda here. That episode really brought some much needed depth to a particular character, and offered trainers (and viewers alike) a glimpse into Larvitar's rather "fractured" past.

We need many more episodes like this one!

This was very good writing, and really gave me some hope for future seasons, that this anime really CAN break out of the "formularic" rut, which has been plaguing this series for so long.

Yeah, i loved the ep.

I couldnt believe what i was seeing! It broke the spell of interesting plots that pull punches. This one set up a punch and followed thru. There were a few really good eps that moved you, that really got u into the ep. This was one of them! 5 stars, easy!
