New Pokemon X cartridge

Ok, looks like my old game cartridge accidentally got nudged off a table and into the trash. I had quite a number of valuable pokemon on that cartridge (at least they were valuable to me), so I'm a bit bummed. I'm about to go buy a new game. Fortunately I was saving it to the cloud at least once per day when I was playing the game, so there's a chance I can get most of that all back. Can anyone let me know what steps I'd have to go through to get the new game at the state of my old one?

To my understanding main thing that when you save while online is to transfer the poke miles from what i understand; it doesn't transfer the save of your game

Oh no! Really? Ouch. Now I'm seriously bummed. If that's the case, I lost a lot of event pokemon, legendaries, and I was within 20 pokemon of filling out my full pokedex from transferring pokemon from my earlier games! Not cool.

Wow, I thought my game was gone. Seems as though it was just misplaced after a bit of trading. I'm so relieved! Now I just need someone to keep me from losing my head, and things should be fine!
