I move that a new section be created called a Community Service. There would be two parts. One would be a League locator where folks could find locations near where they live to play. The second part would be a place where folks could advertise or ask for help. This stuff can get lost in a hurry in the Tournamant section. We are a community and the potential exists to promote and foster friendships and alliances far beyond what has been managed to date. Look at the Orlando crowd - Heidi, GymLeaderPhil, and Prof. Zuver are great examples of this type of community. Ask anyone who knows them - it's almost a Pokemon commune. When they went to Gencon - Heidi finds a place to all stay, they travel together in the van - they pile up on the floor like sardines in a extra small can - and they have a BLAST! Those folks are making memories that will last them the rest of their life - and they are sharing those memories with anyone who cares to participate.
What brought all this about is I have a two incidents where players live close to each other but have no idea there are other players within distance. In both cases some are coming (the have rides) and some can't make it (the have-nots/lost rides). Another factor is League - in both of those locations the folks are asking about Leagues. I believe that simply knowing there are other players about might encourage some of the older players to pick up the ball - run to the nearest store that has ever carried League and offer to start a new League. Win-Win. All it takes would be a simple way to do a lookup that won't get scrolled. Perhaps it could be organized by state and town.
PokeGym has the potential to be the glue that holds this community together. I think we'd all agree they already serve a big portion of this need. Let's take it to the next level.
