    "Premium card odds- 1:27"

    Emphasis on "Premium"

Also note that if you look up "odds" in a Theserus there is no "garuntee" listed under there.

WPM- You could do that, but most people get their boxes at below retail. And it also gives the game its 'Trading' aspect ;)

Low retail? Explain wise one. Besides E-bay, is there any other place to get them at outrageously low prices.

Well, I consider $70 per box to be pretty low (less than $2 per pack!) - and that's what the gent we purchase from charges currently (plus very reasonable shipping)!

$70 is cheap for a box? Wow, then I guess the 1st edition Gym Challenge box I won for $28 on E-bay was ultra cheap.

I consider it cheap for a box of the newest expansion...

the older boxes...or atleast some of them go for much lower since the cards have been for the most part rotated out of the playing arena...or format. There are still people who would like to atleast collect the old cards and thats why people still buy the boxes, just for not very high.

The only game I've noticed boxes going for mad high are some of the original sets of magic which sealed boxes go for well over $1000. Insane one could say since you can't even play them in current formats unless its like type 1 (or is it type 2...i don't really play and cant remember)

Also, if you buy packs from different stores, you might have a chance at getting all packs with NO holos...so really getting em all at one store pretty much ensures you some holos unless someone like yourself has tried to pick out the holo packs and got lucky and left before you came =/

but interesting card sorting flaw this is...rofl watch some box somewhere have a pack full of these RH reporter cards...and i dont get why anyone wants it except for perhaps collecting RHs which is insane to do anyways, drawing 3 for one is pretty lame =/

Some of us like to complete sets. Or 3 sets. Can i count on you trading yours to us if you get any???

And 10 boxes yeilded 1 complete set of regular holos. Came up needing doubles of 2 cards!!!

Also ex Pokémon count as a "Premium card" so you do get 12 Premium cards in a box, it's just 6 are ex cards.

If I understood you correctly, did you mean it took you 10 boxes just to finish the holos? If that is true, then I think something is scwoowy with Nintendo. We should put up an online petition for them to increase the chances of getting holos to 1/3 like it used to be.

Basically, does everyone agree that you can't get a holo out of every 3 packs like you used to be able to? I am pretty sure that this is not the case with the Nintendo sets and that their 1/3 pack label should be changed.

Since i have 3 boys, i make 3 sets. After opening up 10 boxes, we still needed 1 X Minun, 2 X Plusle & 2 X Shedinja! So in reality we completed 1 set.

And ex Pokémon are Holo. They take a Holo spot in the box. They are a Premium card. It's just that there are only what 8 ex Pokémon and you pull 6 in a box so you get 3/4 of the ex Pokémon in a box. With regular Holos, there are 15(?) Holos in the set and you get 6 of those to a box so you get 2/5 of a set (unless you get duplicates).

You DO get 12 foils per box :)

    EX Pokémon ARE foils!!

I really wish for a day where there is no Ex's. Ex's are a cheap holo that I would give up to get the real good holos. THere are more holo's than EX's, so the EX's should be harder to get, not the same odds. If my dream world came true, the odds to get a EX would be 1/9 packs and holos would be 1/2 packs. And then in the end, you would get a holo in every other pack. But see Nintendo doesn't want people completing their sets by buying just 10 boxes, they would like to see every player buy 20 boxes.

plus there are people who try to complete the RH set,so there is a few more boxes there considering you only get like some 5 rare RHs a box

the reverse holos are in a sense bringing back the "1st edition" so atleast collectors will have to get a RH and a regular...just like it used to be 1st edition and unlimited (though some just went with one or the other)

Maybe they could be like the japanese and just have a holo (not RH) every pack. Then everyone would be happy and would get to buy less product. Perhaps a slight raise in the price per pack could get them to do that.

Okay, here's a gripe. EX cards are easier to pull than normal holos. However, almost any decent deck that uses EX Pokemon usually only uses 2 (or at the most 3) of these cards. However, decks like Blaziken usually use 4 of these foil cards. So, why is it so much easier to pull an EX card than a normal foil? (Just another rant about how negative I feel about the Nintendo rarity scheme.)

SteveP - I'm totally in agreement on that one!!! 7 boxes and 42 EX holos later, we're only 2/3 done with our holo collection, and nearly nothing left to go into decks or trades... :(  :p   :nonono:

Well, we had just the opposite. 3.5 boxes, we've got all but 2 RH cards, Bagon (the one after the Vibraras) and TV Reporters.

Okay, I mean 12 REGULAR holos. EX Pokemon seem to be much more common than regular holos, so I think they should increase the rarity on them and decrease the rarity on regular holos. It is just impossible to complete the sets without opening a buzillion boxes.

My 2 cents: 2 boxes and only 11 holos in each (including EXes). In my case the same thing happened with Sandstorm.

OK. That's a valid point but much different than saying that you only got 6 Premium Cards in a Box.

The complaint that seems to be widespread is that people don't like getting so many EXs at the expense of "regular" holos.

There are also boxes containing 10 premiums, in each set i had such boxes. Not to many but it happens

Gee, I am glad we pulled 12 holos per box!! (still had to go overseas for that last RH, though!!! ;))

Strange that they aren't more consistent, though :(
