Overflow play space will be available (if needed) at the Spring Hill Suites nearby (21 Gateway Blvd, Mooresville, NC 28117).
Special hotel rate for Pokémon Players of $114/night – good for both Friday and Saturday nights at the Hilton Garden Inn. To book your room at this rate, ask for the Pokemon rate. Block of rooms will be released on 3/12.

Schedule of Events:
NOW –register online at www.DarkMoonCardsandGames.com for TCG main event, VG Midseason Showdown, and League Challenge. Entry fees (see below) can be paid via PayPal or Credit Card. Registration will be capped to ensure we have seating for everyone. If the cap is reached, players may sign up for a wait list (no fees will be collected for players on the wait list). Wait list players will be seated at the event as space permits, in the order in which their registration request was received. If space is still available, walk-in players will be seated after wait list players.

Saturday, April 2
  • 7:30 am – 8:00 pm – vendor on-site - Dark Moon Cards and Games.
  • o Selling Pokemon singles, accessories, dice, sleeves, and Japanese merchandise. Limited buy list will be posted and updated throughout the tournament.
  • 8:00 – 9:00 am – check-in for TCG State Championship (all registered players must check in during this time.) Each player must bring his/her own 60 card deck in the STANDARD format, deck list, randomizer, damage counters and status condition markers. You must be in line by 9:00 am in order to avoid a round 1 loss.
  • Blank decklists will be available inside the ballroom, completed decklists will be collected at the Player Meeting
  • All divisions playing 6 rounds or less will finish play on Saturday. Any division with 7 or more rounds will have Top Cut on Sunday morning.
  • 9:30 am – Players seated for player meeting. Players need to be in their assigned seats with their deck lists.
  • 9:45 am – (or sooner) Round 1 begins
  • Lunch break will be taken after Round 2 (around Noon). Return times will be posted prior to the start of Round 2.
  • 2:00 pm – TCG side events begin. Side events will begin earlier in the day if space permits. Listen for announcements.
  • 8-player “Win-a-Box” - $15 entry. Everyone gets 1 pack of BREAKpoint. Winner of this single-elimination event gets a sealed booster box of BREAKpoint.
  • 8-player “Win-a-Mat” - $8. Everyone gets 2 packs of BREAKpoint. Winner of this single-elimination event gets an exclusive Pokemon playmat.
  • 8-player “Win-a-Pack” - $5. Single-elimination, “King of the Hill” event. Guaranteed 1 pack. Round 1 – each table gets 2 packs, winner takes one to Round 2, loser gets the other. Round 2 – each player puts their R1 pack at the table, 1 more pack added, winner takes 2 packs to the next round, loser gets the third. Round 3 – each player puts their 2 packs at the table, 2 more packs added, winner takes 4 packs, loser takes the other 2 packs.
  • 8-player “Win a Box”Roaring Skies edition - $20 entry. Everyone gets 1 pack of BREAKpoint. Winner of this single-elimination event gets a sealed booster box of Roaring Skies.

Sunday, April 3
  • 7:30 am – 4:00 pm – Vendor onsite
  • 8:00 – 9:00 am – check-in for MidSeason Showdown (all registered players must check in during this time.) Each player must bring his/her own DS System with Pokemon Omega Ruby or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon team in Battle Box, and completed team list. You must be in line by 9:00 am in order to avoid a round 1 loss.
  • Blank team lists will be available outside the ballroom, completed team lists will be collected at check-in.
  • 8:30 – 9:30 am – check-in for TCG League Challenge (all registered players must check in during this time.) Each player must bring his/her own 60 card deck in the STANDARD format, deck list, randomizer, damage counters and status condition markers. You must be in line by 9:30 am in order to avoid a round 1 loss.
  • Blank decklists will be available outside the ballroom, completed decklists will be collected at check-in.
  • 9:00 am – Players are seated for TCG State Championship Top Cut.
  • Lunch break will be taken around Noon. Return times will be posted prior to the start of the last round before lunch.
  • 9:30 am – 2 PM – TCG side events continue (as space and supplies permit)

* VIP Package can be added to TCG State Championship or Midseason Showdown: Includes exclusive States playmat, and VIP table seating. Keep your seat throughout the tournament and let opponents come to you. - additional $10

• League Challenge: $7
• TCG Side Events: Side Events will range from $5 to $20

Tournament Structure: players are divided into divisions based on age. Juniors are all players born in 2005 or later; seniors are all players born in 2001-2004; masters are all players born in 2000 or earlier.

Trading Card Game – Standard format – decks of 60 cards. Players may use cards from XY, XY-Kalos Starter Set, XY-Trainer Kit, Flashfire, Furious Fists, Phantom Forces, Primal Clash, Roaring Skies, Ancient Origins, BREAKthrough, BREAKpoint, Double Crisis, McDonald’s Collection 2014 and Black Star Promo Cards XY01 and higher.

Video Game Players – 2016 format – double battles. Players must have Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Each Pokémon may have one item and items may not be repeated. All items will be allowed except Soul Dew. All Pokémon must have a blue pentagon. All discovered Pokémon are allowed EXCEPT the following Mythical Pokémon: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, , Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Diancie and Hoopa. Teams may have no more the TWO of the following Pokémon: Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde,

Video & Trading Card Game
• Players play Swiss rounds – meaning all players play all rounds regardless of win/loss record. (number of rounds will be determined based on the number of players in each age division)
o TCG is match play – best 2 of 3 with 50-minutes + 3 turns.
o VG is single game Swiss rounds – 20 minute time limit
• Once all Swiss rounds have been played, standings will be posted. Top players will have a hack check performed (video game) or a deck check (trading card game) then Top Cuts will begin.
o Top Cuts are played as best 2 of 3; single elimination
o League Challenge will have no top cut

Prizes: Organizer reserves the right to increase prizing

Pokémon North Carolina Trading Game Championship – each player will receive 3 Play! Points and a Pokémon State Championship promo card, State Championship die, and entry for door prize drawings; while supplies last.

A 1st-round bye at the US or Canada National Championships (byes do not stack)

2nd place:

Door Prizes: Door prizes for State Championship and MidSeason Showdown participants will be awarded in each age division, and an overall grand prize among all participants for each event. Additional door prize drawings will be help for those turning in a computer-printed decklist or team list.

For anyone interested, Dark Moon Cards and Games will be buying a limited list of Pokemon Singles at the North Carolina State Championships this weekend. Any Expanded format on: EX, Full Art, or Secret Rare cards in NM condition will be considered. A price list will be finalized prior to the store opening on Saturday. See you there!

Pokemon plushes, deck boxes, sleeves, dice, pins, play mats and a limited selection of singles will also be for sale.
