Well, you people have waited for a while, and I finally have it...The review for Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution.
Story: The story is different depending on which side you choose- the hunters, which is a group that protects the government using weapon data that are stored in cards (hunters items are green), and the Arkz, who want to reveil the true intentions of the government and broadcast these intentions to the people of Pioneer 2. No matter what story you choose, the game takes place 21 years after Episode II.
Graphics: Although the graphics really aren't a revolution, i did do some comparing between the different games, and the graphics in EP3 are a little smoother. Speaking of graphics and art, the art designs on the cards are very well done
Sound: The sound was pretty good in this game. Although there were a lack of sound effects when in battle mode, the music was so good to make up for the bad sound effects.
Gameplay: It is very hard to understand how to play this game at first since it is a completely new card game to play, but it does make sense after a while
Dice- Roll 2 dice: one for attack points and one for defense points
Set- use your attack points to equip items/summon monsters
Move- move your characters to attack your opponents
Action- if you have any AP left, you can attack your opponent
Draw- you can now discard cards from your hand and draw new ones to keep your 5 card hand
Defense- this is where your defense points are used. If you have any defense cards (like Guard or Reduce), you may use them to reduce the damage inflicted on you.
Overall: this was a great game. Not only is it great offline, buts its great online. If you already have EP 1&2 and a hunters license, you can enter the EP1&2 Serial Number and Access Key on EP3 and you would be ready to play online instantly.
Positives:
+ better graphics
+ great music
+ its online
+ great storyline
Negatives:
- lack of sound effects
- complicated gameplay at first
-online quests arent available right now
Overall score: 95%
And if you guys ever want to find me on PSO EP3, the name is the same, Arthas Zero...
