Ok, you guys may remember me, maybe and maybe not, i used to come to the old pokegym on wiards, i used to go to the gs bot too, all under this name. Now for my question. I'm also returning to pokemon card battling.

I know you need 60 cards, i'm using 25 energies, 13 of 1 and 12 of another. That leaves 35 cards, how should i split it up between trainers and the two types of pokemon?

Well, I recommend you not use that many Energy, first of all. I've found that, for Modified, decks seem to do well with approximately 18 Pokémon, 24 Trainers, and 18 Energy. Of course, that's a guideline -- I think my current deck has 20 Pokémon, 24 Trainers, and 16 Energy cards. In Unlimited, the good decks seem to tend to be more like 15 Pokémon, 30 Trainers, 15 Energy cards. Often, there will be even fewer Pokémon and fewer Energy, and even more Trainers. For more info, look at the links in my signature. They may be a bit outdated, but I think they'll still be useful.
