This just needs a lot of work, kind of like I suggested in the other Garchomp thread. Also, playing Mr.Stone's Project when Roseanne's Research does the EXACT SAME THING AND gets basics is just senseless.

Not entirely; since stone's searches deck or discard, it's more versatile for energy grabbing. Sure, early game roseanne's is the play, hands-down. However, mid- to late-game, when you've already used (and probably discarded via ko) the only two fighting (for example) energies you have, Roseanne's isn't going to be of much service. Night maintenance + roseanne's will do it for you, but it's alot easier relying on the one card rather than two in combination.

I think Mr Stone makes sense here. It can get 2 energies from either the deck or discard (Roseanne's only searches your deck). It just gives extra flexibility when trying to get that one energy needed to exploit a weakness.

Good luck,
Jeff

Yes, 70-30 banette! Actualy, I've never lost to one. :thumb: ( I've played about 5-8 battles agaist them, so I don't know how acurate that REALY is) Also: Yes, they have resistance, but I never fail to get a weakness energy on chomp. They just can't do enough to take me out, eather. Besides, It's quite fast anyway. Banette's easy.

Well take it this way, when i KO your furret T2 with a Strenghtcharmed Banette, and you are sitting there with a Gible or gabite on your bench with one energy on it and a banette in front of you that you cant OHKO what do you do? Get a Garh Lvlx and restore your furret?

That match up need to be changed. It would be at least 50-50 because if i cant outspeed you i prolly loose . But it is NOT 70 -30 !

Take out that Bebe and add in felicitys, you might need the discard and 4 celios is enough

how is it possible to have a bad gg matchup with garchomp? how could you NOT play claydol? OR any energy acceleration? any decent deck would have a field day with this!

Playing 2-2 claydol is a given but as for energy acceleration what do you suggest? Togekiss? Leafeonx? Rotom? Chatot start place energy on gible?

After reading through some Nationals reports, this is a build I quickly typed up:

Pokémon: 24
4 Gible
2 Gabite
2 Garchomp
2 Garchomp LvX
1 Diglett
1 Dugtrio
1 Duskull
1 Dusknoir
1 Ampharos
1 Rotom
2 Phione
1 Pachirisu
2 Baltoy
2 Claydol
1 Absol ex

Trainers: 21
4 Bebe's Network
3 Roseanne's Research
2 Holon Mentor
3 TV Reporter
4 Rare Candy
3 Crystal Beach
2 Night Maintenance

Energy: 15
8 Psychic
5 Lightning
1 Water
1 Fighting

1 squertile. for blastiose. i know u use rebirth to get teh blastiose but then u waste it on that then u cant get a garchomp. bye the time u get the lvl.x and the blastiose in teh discard pile. it will be useless in most cases. anotehr night maintennce.

I see why people might want to put other Pokemon in this deck but honestly I would play straight Garchomp 110 a turn w/o discarding any energy, 130-140 HP Pokemon, A LV.X whose power brings everything into KO range w/o PP and has a ridiculously broken attack.......SSU FTW.

are u kidding me 24 pokes thats just slowing you down the whole point of this deck is to be fast and not run a whole ton of pokes thats just wasting good energy and trainer line room

thtas a good idea ill try playing a squirtle

^ That doesn't work. A few people I know have tried that and have had a lot of prizing problems.

If you use a squrtle use a SW one. If you start with it you can try to stall with bubble until you get something good.

If you are running a mainly Restore deck, 2-2 is definitely the play. If you are sweeping with Garchomp, I'd say stick to 3-1.

I'm playing 2-2 and using Kabutops as my main attacker. Dragon Pulse greatly helps out Chop Up.

M_U: I gotta say, that list scared me. Way too many pokemon. Dusknoir is probably unneeded. Along with Absol ex and Rotom. You could probably drop some Psychic NRG for Water...

The infernape and gg match ups should be a little less.. depending on the way the play the deck they ussualy will set up a lot faster... The way I had infernape built beat this deck almost everytime.

way to many pokemon for my taste and the matchup is right i rarely ever lose and i play against some of the best and fastest bannettes

I dont think so honestly,no bashing you but you couldnt have, cuz If you are using Furret start, Banette will rip thro, for 1.Banette plays Wager and more than 2. The matchup cant be right since you you have no energy accel or draw accel,so its now your gonna keep up with the damage output early. No way.The best, nah,Its probably a decent banette at best.

no way your just missing the fact that i dont have to play garchomp t2 i can send some1 else up

Yea you send up one of your other pokes,80,not fully charged yet??bring up another.80 Oh you didnt get any energy or have accel,80,Im gonna do 80 all day,if I win wager,Im pretty sure I win the game,I play cessation, yea no 110,only 50 then Ima still do 80. U think Ima let u setup garchomp on the bench?? Warp points 3-4.

Im gonna argue the Banette matchup cuz Ive played against Garchomp/Kiss,Garchomp/Furret,Garchomp str8 all had claydol and I still outspeed them.Garchomp/Kiss is the best variant since u have a quick accel and has the best chance.

i'd use rotom so you don't have to worry about being power locked. i used 2-2 weavile for regionals though.

ector was using banette with battle frontier at regionals and vs my garchomp round 5ish and i don't even remember him taking a prize. sooooo yea.

So far as I see it, the ways chomp is played so far is:

Togekiss: By far the fastest, and powers up quick, as would be expexted.

Furret: Sets up slowly, but gets a better overall setup.

Rotom: Iffy, but works fast and leaves room for other cards.

As a tech: Garchomp is sometimes run as a tech insted of a main attacker.

With only techs: Garchomp only with a horde of techs, Felicity's, and TVR.

ive won agaist bannette 7/10 i play them the only reason they win is because i get a terrible setup (which happens to every deck except G&g)
