Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon 2010 VGC Support & Discussion

so when do the give you a chance to switch pokemon/ items

You can only choose from the six Pokemon on your team info sheet, but you can choose which four Pokemon you want to use at the start of each battle. You can swap items around between battles as well. You're probably going to be sticking with the same 4 Pokemon and items through the whole thing, though. Since you don't know your opponent's team, there's no reason to change what team you use between rounds.

I thought he ment switch out pokemon from his box.

How good is Snorlax now choiced with self destruct? Dusknoir for a trick room team could be incredible if you start dusk and lax.

Yeah, I don't know if you necessarily do self destruct off the start for the fear of protect. The lax can take some hits and has a really good move pool, I don't know a trick room team like that might be pretty solid. Lax, Dusk, Groudon, and Dialga.

Lax is a good choice! Because of thick fat and his high special defense. add thick fat for ice resistence and it is a solid play

Idk, looking at the Videos there from San Fran I saw some good ideas of course there was a lot of Kyogre but just as much groudon. Abomasnow was heavy from what I understand, Snow's too risky IMO quad weak to fire is tough against non Kyogre teams.

I forgot to post here. I was at the San Francisco VGC a few weeks ago. I won 3 games and then lost the 4th (So I got in top 32). There's a picture of my first opponent in the pictures section of the VGC website. He's the one that's praying. If anyone cares, my team was:

Shiny Smeargle
Shiny Palkia
Shiny Cresselia
Shiny Mewtwo
Shiny Shedinja
Shiny Ho-oh

And my Ho-oh was holding a Big Mushroom.:lol::lol:

Looks like its my one this Saturday then :p Looking forward to it a lot, but there's some question that haven't been answered on their site that I'm wondering about... I mean, I know it's single elimination first X amount of rounds, but if you 'survive' that what happens? Someone mentioned a winners lounge, so when you reach thaere does the format change to best of 3 or still single elimination? Thanks guys, appreciate it a lot!

The first 4 rounds are the preliminary rounds - they flood the players until all the players have either won 4 in a row, or got knocked out. After all the other players have either won 4 rounds or been knocked out - then the players in the finalist lounge continue playing. If the player count is not to the power of 2 (2/4/8/16/32/64/etc) then some people will receive byes this "5th" round to make the player count even for the 6th round.

The entire tournament is single elimination. Swiss is saved for Nationals and Worlds.

Hope that helped.
