Chapter 18

Boy did this take a while. I spent so much time deciding how I wanted to portray Shade's past and the moments leading up to his first encounter wtih Team Chaos. Anyway, as requested by Lucario EX and a few other friends of mine here is the Chapter dedicated to Shade. It's such a long chapter. Hope you all like it.

Chapter 18: Runaway

Chase, Vik, Brad, Amy, Gwen, and Krystal stood in the wreckage of the Battle Simulation room that Giratina had nearly destroyed. They all stood around AJ who had injured his arm in the previous battle. Lucas was at his side panicking.
Lucas: “If we’re not going to take AJ to the hospital what will we do now?” Gwen was playing her Platinum game on her PRi.
Gwen: “Don’t worry. I have a solution. In the meantime just relax AJ and Lucas. We’ll wait here until Shade returns.”
Vik: “Hopefully without Jason.” Vik was also playing his Pokémon game on his PRi, as were Chase, Brad and Amy. Each of them were healing their teams and preparing for the next battle.

Amy: “What’s with Shade anyway? He has such an attitude problem.”
Gwen: “Shade is the closest thing I have to a friend here in Team Chaos. He’s had a tough life. The two of us know each other more then anyone else in this team.” Gwen finally shut off her PRi and then inspected AJ’s broken arm again. She gently pressed against his bicep.
AJ: “Ow! Not so hard Gwen.”
Gwen: “Sorry, I just wanted to see how bad the injury is. I’m sure I can fix this without needing any medical help.”
Amy: “If you don’t mind me asking Gwen, why are you and Shade good friends?”

Gwen: “We were recruited at the same time. During that time he wasn’t so stuck up and resentful as he is now. It’s quite a long story.”
Chase: “I wouldn’t mind hearing what you have to say. It could be a while before Shade and Jason show up anyway.” Gwen thought for a moment and then decided to do so.
Gwen: “Ok, have a seat.”
Lucas: “On broken glass shards?” Gwen forgot about how Giratina destroyed the glass ceiling.
Brad: “Thanks but I prefer standing anyway.”
Gwen: “This all happened to us two years ago. Back then I knew Shade as Matthew, his real name. I should start by telling you what I know about his High School days…”

- - -Two Years Ago- - -

Two years ago Matthew was a bit of a depressed teenager. Back then he had just his left ear pierced, constantly wore sunglasses no matter what the weather was, and always wore a black jacket that a motor cyclist would wear. He was attending his sophomore year in high school. The longer he stayed in high school the more he hated it. None of his teachers got along with him either.

Home was even worse for him then school. Matthew never met his father. His mother, Caroline, always told him that his father done terrible things and would die in jail, which is where he had been for the sixteen years Matthew had been alive. Instead of meeting his real father he had a step father who already had a son of his own, Victor. Matthew and his step brother Victor were only a year apart, Victor being the older of the two. His step father Brian tried to befriend him, but he didn’t want a step father. All he wanted was to meet his real father.

Matthew’s first step toward Team Chaos happened one day when he came home from “hanging out with friends.” It was past midnight and Caroline was worried sick. He came through the front door to find his mother displeased with him.
Caroline: “Where have you been Matthew? I know you weren’t where you said you’d be. I went to Ben’s house. His parents told me you haven’t hung out with him in over a month.” Matthew kicked off his muddy shoes. There was damp mud on his socks and lower part of his black jeans. Shade kept his sunglasses on so that his mother couldn’t look him in the eye.

Matthew: “I went motor crossing with a few friends. Obviously I used Ben as a scapegoat.” Matthew tried to walk toward his bedroom but his mother placed a hand on his shoulder. Her voice became cold and serious.
Caroline: “Matthew, we need to talk. Sit down on the sofa, NOW!” Feeling like he had no choice, Matthew sat on the sofa with his mother next to him. He removed his pair of sunglasses but placed them on top of his hair.

Matthew: “Don’t tell me, you know I’ve been skipping.”
Caroline: “Why Matthew? Ever since I remarried you’ve been slowly slipping out of school. Why can’t you at least get a report card with all C’s or better?”
Matthew: “School sucks. The teachers just pile on homework and don’t give a damn. School isn’t worth my time. Neither are the losers who go there.”

Caroline: “That has to be the saddest excuse I’ve ever heard. I managed to get straight A’s in my last three years of high school. So if I can do it so can you. It’s in your blood Matthew, so please try to make me proud.”
Matthew: “I’m not you mom. I’m not going to school to make you happy either. It’s all about you and your happiness.”
Caroline: “What do you mean ‘my happiness?’”
Matthew: “You let my dad rot in jail and then when I was ten you remarried and had your fairy tale ending. But I never liked Brian or Victor. I never get along with those two. You never asked if I wanted a step brother. You never even let me meet my father.”

Caroline: “Your father assaulted me and therefore I had to call the police. He was a criminal and refused to pay for what he did wrong. So Matthew, I had to make sure he went to jail. I’ve known your father long enough to know that he wouldn’t be the same loving and caring man Brian is. You just refuse to give him a chance.” Matthew sighed and then leaned back onto the last two cushions on the sofa. He got his muddy pants to spread mud on furniture.
Matthew: “You just don’t care. You only want me to go to school.”

Caroline: I do care Matthew. Now for your punishment-“ Matthew got back up and began yelling at his mother.
Matthew: “I don’t deserve to be grounded for doing nothing!”
Caroline: “Don’t raise your voice to me young man. As long as you live in this house you will show your family some respect!”

Matthew: “Then maybe I don’t want to live in this house anymore! You never cared! You’ll never care! So back off mom! I don’t need you!” He got up and ran to his bedroom at the end of the hall and slammed the door. His mother was not too far behind. She walked to his bedroom and opened the door.
Caroline: “Now you’re double grounded. All you can do is eat, sleep, homework, and that’s it! Tomorrow I’ll take you to school myself and talk to the campus monitor to make sure you stay in school. Now get some sleep and we’ll talk more about this tomorrow!” Caroline left after that. She thought that it was late and lack of sleep was taking a toll on them both. She only hoped that Matthew would make better choices soon, but he wouldn’t.

Half an hour had passed and Matthew was still wide awake. He laid in his bed with a poster of a grudge band called “Deadly Heaven” hanging on his ceiling. He thought about all his former friends and how they’ve ended up. All of them pathetic. He thought about how she kept saying “You don’t want to end up like your father now” before she remarried to Brian. He had enough. He wasn’t going to take it anymore.

Matthew: “Time to runaway.” He got out of his bed and emptied his backpack of all his school supplies and text books. Then he packed two changes of clothes in the biggest compartment in his bag. Then he quietly snuck out of his room. He slowly opened the pantry door and packed half of a Doritos bag, a bag of Gummy Worms, two Caprice Sun juice pouches, and stole Brian’s sandwich for lunch out of the fridge. Then he slipped on his muddy shoes again and slowly opened the front door, then left.

Right before he left the house he walked up to his mother’s blue minivan. He took his house key and scratched the word “Goodbye” across the driver’s and sliding door nice and big so that it’d be the first thing anyone would see when they came outside to the driveway. Shade lived in a quiet neighborhood that was one block away from his hometown’s main street. He began his long walk, but had no idea where he was going.

- - -Present Day- - -

Gwen: “So that’s everything I know about his family and high school days.” Gwen had just finished telling the first part of Shade’s story to the crowd.
Chase: “Wow, Shade’s a drop out and runaway huh? That actually explains a bit about him.”
Brad: “How did find Team Chaos?” Gwen pressed the On/Off switch on her PRi and then took a step back.
Gwen: “Hold that thought for a moment. Gardevoir, come on out.” The lens on the top screen of Gwen’s PRi flashed and a burst of white light came out. Gardevoir then appeared as the light died down.
Amy: “Oh, what a beautiful Gardevoir. I just love how this one looks in real life compared to seeing it on the Wii.”

Gwen: “Why thank you. I fed it Poffins to max out its Smartness and Beauty.” Amy and Lucas both took a closer look at Gardevoir and its green hair seemed to be shining in the dim moonlight.
AJ: “So what are you doing with Gardevoir?” Gwen walked up to AJ and gently placed a hand on AJ’s injured arm.
Gwen: “Gardevoir, my dear friend. You’ve been loyal to me ever since grandpa and his Gallade given you to me. Now is the time for us to be loyal to them. Please, use Healing Wish to restore the broken bone in AJ’s upper arm.” Gardevoir also placed a hand on AJ’s injured arm. Then it started glowing blue with psychic energy surrounding itself and AJ.

Lucas: “Wait, don’t tell me my Gallade is Gardevoir’s father.” Gwen laughed nervously. She never realized how tricky it would be to hang out with her relatives at a young age.
Gwen: “Lucas… when you capture a Ditto, make sure it’s Modest nature, ok?” Gardevoir was still glowing with psychic energy. AJ felt a tingling sensation in his left arm as Gardevoir was healing it. He felt like Gardevoir was injecting some kind of invisible serum into his arm. After thirty seconds Gardevoir and AJ stopped glowing and Gardevoir collapsed onto the ground. AJ wiggled and swung his left arm around.
AJ: “Wow, that feels much better. Thanks Gwen and Gardevoir.”

Lucas: “What happened to Gardevoir?”
Brad: “It’s fine. Healing Wish causes the user to faint, that’s all.” Gwen recalled her favorite pokemon back into her PRi.
Gwen: “Now where were we? Oh yeah. Well I don’t know much about how Shade found out about Team Chaos but I do know Jason and Xero had something to do with it…”

- - -Two Years Ago- - -

After running away from home, Matthew spent the next two days hiding from the police in alleys, abandoned houses, and parks just to avoid going home at all costs. It was on this particular day that his life would change. It was a cold morning and Shade was sleeping in a junkyard car that no one had bothered. The car was an old Ford Prius. He had just nodded off when he heard something. Voices! They were close and Matthew had no intention of anyone finding him. The voices belonged to Jason and Xero. They grew closer and soon Matthew began to make out what they were saying.

Jason: “…training. Then before long we got a powerful army of Pokemon.”
Xero: “Yes, then no one, no politician, no authority figure, no hero will be able to control us. We’ll do whatever we want when we want.”
Jason: “I know my father told us to dream big but not that big. We still need a few more recruits after all…” The voices died down again. Matthew didn’t know what they were talking about but he instantly began to get curious. He got out of the Prius and then looked for the two people he heard talking. They were nowhere in sight.

Matthew: “Hey! Anyone there?” Matthew looked around but still no sign of anyone. Had he dreamt the conversation?
Man’s voice: “Matthew…” The voice was right behind him. Shade was nervous to turn around, but he did. He dropped his jaw when he saw the man. It was his father! Matthew recognized him instantly from the only photo his mother kept of him. A tall serious man with dark hair, brown eyes, there were two lip rings that are shaped like a curved shake fangs on each side of his lips, and a scar on his left cheek.
Matthew: “Dad?” He could hardly speak. The odds of his father finding him in a place like this were so low. Matthew couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Mattew’s Dad: “Matthew, your mother lied and manipulated you all these years. It’s true, I’ve been in jail, but I got out and have been looking for you. I want to meet you ever since your mother told me she was pregnant, but that was the only time she ever visited me in prison.” Matthew was still in shock to see his father.
Matthew: “Dad… I have so many questions.”
Matthew’s Dad: “Those two you heard, they’ll help you.”

Matthew: “What?”
Matthew’s Dad: “I know you have questions but I don’t have time. Just like you I’m on the run.” Matthew didn’t know if he wanted to hug his dad or just stand and talk. He hardly ever did both to his step father.
Matthew: “But dad, please tell me. I don’t know what to do with my life. Mom won’t tell me much other then ‘go to school’ and Brian doesn’t help much either. So please tell me what am I supposed to do in life?” His father just stood there, and then held out and hand as if wanting a high five.

Matthew’s Dad: “Take control of your life. Take control of your destiny and don’t let anyone stand in your way.” Suddenly it seemed like his father was disappearing.
Matthew: “Dad, wait!” Matthew woke up in the back seat of the trashed Prius he was hiding in. Had he dreamt the encounter with his father? At first he didn’t know what to think, but he knew he was talking to his father. Sadly, it seemed to him that was the only time he would speak to him.

- - -Present Day- - -

Back at the ruins of the Team Chaos Base Shade was on the lookout for Jason. He had walked about for the past 15 minutes but didn’t call out Jason’s name or anything. There was something else on his mind as well. When the second Giratina had looked him in the eyes he saw, or rather sensed, his father. Shade couldn’t stop thinking about how the ghostly dragon could represent his father.
Shade’s dad: ”Take control of your life…” Shade never forgot the only encounter he had with his father, even if it was a dream.

Jason: “Shade!” He turned around and saw Jason approaching him from where the wreckage of the central hub room of the base. One wall was blasted to smithereens but the others stood tall for about four stories high. The computers could be seen inside the room and they were all destroyed. Wires spilled out of monitors and computer devices like blood from a severed animal.
Shade: “Where have you been?”

Jason: “My father’s Alakazam just teleported the last of the injured Team Chaos members to a hospital. How did you manage to stop the Giratina?”
Shade: “Well…” Shade was going to speak about the second Giratina but decided against it at the last minute. “… Toxic attack had worn it down and eventually the Giratina fainted and disappeared. Just like a bad nightmare.” Jason’s facial expression stayed blank. For a moment he carried the same serious expression as Commander Serph.

Jason: “Let’s get Gwen and head to our Orbital Base. The boss wants to see us and I haven’t heard from my father in a while.”
Shade: “Follow me.” Jason had doubts about what Shade was telling him about the battle with Giratina. He knew from the moment he was sent to find Shade to recruit him for Team Chaos he would be a bit of a renegade. He remember the day he first told Shade about Team Chaos.

- - -Two Years Ago- - -

Jason is having breakfast at a local Best Western Hotel with Xero and Commander Serph, who at the time was not yet the commander of Team Chaos. During this time, Xero and Jason were partners are not quite yet Admins of Team Chaos since the team was just starting to take form. Xero was dressed like a normal teenager back then, wearing a pair of blue jeans and a blue tang top. Jason was dressed in a pear of cream colored pants and a white dress shirt with a pocket protected on his chest. He had sat down with a toasted Bagel and a side of cream cheese when the morning news was coming back on. Commander Serph was watching a report about a runaway child who key scratched “Goodbye” on the side of a blue minivan.

Xero: “Let me guess Hunter, we are going to find this runaway teenager?” Hunter was Commander Serph’s first name. He finished sipping his Coffee before he spoke.
Hunter: “Yes. I’m a little intrigued with this Matthew character. He’s obviously quite troubled teenager. It seems we can convince him to join our team easily.”
Jason: “How are we going to find him?” Jason finished spreading the cream cheese on his bagel slice and then took a bite.

Hunter: “You boys go find him. You two are in a much closer age range to Matthew then I am. You each now possess a Cartridge Ball to call out any Pokémon from Generations one through three. Good luck to you both. I’m off to make sure our new base launches into outer space later this week.” Hunter got up and left the two of them at the table. Xero was also drinking a cup of coffee.
Xero: “I’m thinking have a ghost Pokémon or three help us look around. Then we’ll get inside his head with that Hypno of yours.”

Jason: “Why do you obsess with mind reading using Psychic type pokemon?”
Xero: “Hey, the more you know someone the more likely they’ll listen to you.” Xero finished his coffee and then banged the mug against the table. That earned him a couple people looking his way. The two of them finished their breakfast, checked out of the hotel, and then began their search for Matthew.

It wasn’t until sunset on that same day they found Matthew. Xero was in downtown San Francisco when his Gengar called to him from a shadowy alley. Xero was intrigued when his Gengar signaled for him to follow. He went around the corner and hid under a fire escape ladder attached to an old brick building with his Gengar. He flashed the photo of Matthew on his Cell Phone that was linked to the internet. He had looked up the photo on the Channel 12 New’s website.
Xero: “You saw this guy?” Gengar nodded. “Excellent.” Xero sent a text message to Jason asking him to meet with him using Teleport on one of his Psychic Pokémon. Now all he needed was a Pokémon with Synchronize Ability.

Matthew was hiding in a Toyota Prius which was trashed in a junkyard in Oakland, not too far from San Francisco. It was close to nightfall and the first few stars in the night sky had already appeared. Xero and Jason had used a Porygon’s Trace ability to help locate his exact location, then they had a Kadabra out to use Synchronize so they could find out much about Matthew as needed. Kadabra’s eyes were glowing white as it read Matthew’s mind and showed the images it saw to Xero and Jason.
Xero: “So, this guy wants to see his father huh? I’ll make sure he sees him. Gengar, standby to use Hypnosis.”

Jason: “You just love those controlling attacks like Hypnosis and Confuse Ray, don’t you?”
Xero: “I’d say the same thing about you partner.”
Jason: “Don’t call me your partner.” Xero’s Gengar melted into a shadow and then slid into the wrecked Prius. Inside the Prius Matthew was growing tired and munched of the last of the cool ranch flavored Doritos and was starting to doze off. Then that’s when he thought he heard the voices of Xero and Jason and the illusion of his conversation with his father began.

Not long after the illusion was over Matthew got out of the Prius after coming to his sense. He was still unsure if he had met his father. Xero quickly came out of hiding and approached his confused target. His Gengar snuck over to Matthew’s Shadow from a nearby street light.
Xero: “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Matthew looked at Xero, then brought up his two fists as if being challenged to a street fight.

Matthew: “Back off man. Just who are you?”
Xero: “Relax Matthew, I want to help you.”
Matthew: “Shut up and leave me alone!” Matthew about to throw a punch when suddenly, to his own astonishment, his shadow grabbed his arm and then restrained him. “What the –“ Before Matthew could say anything else, his Shadow covered his mouth and then shoved him onto the ground. Jason then had enough of Xero torturing Matthew. He also came out of hiding from behind a pile of junk and ran to Xero’s side.

Jason: “That’s enough Xero. We were supposed to show that we’re his allies.”
Xero: “He tried to attack me first. Now Gengar, let him go.” Matthew’s own Shadow then faded and a Gengar took form and floated near Xero and Jason. Matthew then got up.
Matthew: “Who are you guys, and what is that… Gremlin rip off floating next to you?”
Jason: “Forgive my incompetent partner here. My name is Jason, this is Xero, and that is his Pokémon Gengar.”
Matthew: “Pokémon? You mean that old junk game like Megaman and those other wash up Video Game series?”

Xero: “Pokémon maybe washed up now, but we’re going to bring them back in a big way; a way that’ll allow us to rule the world.”
Jason: “Stop exaggerating. What we really want with you Matthew is to join our team. Think of this as an invitation away from ordinary life. Away from your high school, your mother and step father, and away from the authorities.” Matthew immediately grew suspicious about Jason and Xero.
Matthew: “How do you know about all that?” Next thing they knew, sirens could be heard in the distance.
Jason: “Now what?” Xero gave an evil chuckle and then put on his sinister grin.

Xero: “Just to make sure Matthew here makes his decision on the spot I arranged a little insurance. Those sirens probably belong to the Police Officers I tipped off that you were here Matthew.”
Matthew & Jason: “You did what?!”
Xero: “You choose Matthew, them or us?” Matthew shook his fist. He wanted to punch Xero right in the face for turning him in.
Jason: “Are you crazy Xero?”
Xero: “No, but I maybe insane.”

Matthew: “I’ll say.” The sirens in the distance grew louder. Matthew remained silent.
Xero: “Come on Matthew, what would your father say?” Matthew then gasped and remembers the last thing his father told him. Take control of your life.
Matthew: “Fine, take me to your Team Chaos leader. I’m through with this life. I’ll go where ever you want me to go.” The police sirens were still getting louder. Flashing red and blue lights could now be seen from the junk yard and they were getting brighter every second.
Jason: “Kadabra, Teleport!” In that instant the three of them plus Gengar and Kadabra vanished and reappeared at the building that would become the Team Chaos HQ.
Matthew: “How did that happen?” Matthew then saw Jason’s Kadabra.

Jason: “This is a psychic type Pokémon called Kadabra. It teleported us to our head quarters. Here we will train you to become one of our top operatives. Sorry about the tight situation back there but now you’re part of our team. So are you ready to make a difference in the world and change your life forever?” Matthew thought long and hard for a second. Was this the time for him to take control of his life? On the one hand, he wouldn’t have to worry about his school or family anymore.
Matthew: “You’re not going to turn me into your servant or anything?”
Xero: “If you behave, you could be an Admin like me and Jason are about to become.”

Jason: “Matthew you have my word, you’re safe here. Accommodations will be provided at no cost to you. The police and government won’t bother us here, so you’re free to relax and stop worrying about being caught and returned home. So what do you say, you in?”
Matthew: “Fine. I’ll join your team for now, but I decide I don’t like it I’m outta here.” Jason smiled.
Jason: “Congratulations, and welcome to Team Chaos Matthew, and welcome to your new life.” Jason reached out a hand to shake Matthew’s. Matthew then thought for a moment on his new life. He slowly reached out his hand to shake Jason’s.

Matthew: “Just one thing, don’t call me Matthew anymore. Call me ‘Shade’ from now on.” They finally shook hands.
Jason: “Shade it is then. Please allow me to show you around the base.” From that day on, Matthew, now know as Shade, spent days learning more about Pokémon and training to be a Team Chaos Admin.

- - -Presnet Day- - -

Jason (thinking): Even to this day, I sometimes think you're more trouble then you're worth Shade. The two of them continued heading to the wrecked Battle Simulation Room where Gwen and the others were waiting. Shade kept quiet as all he could think about was seeing a resemblance of his father in that Giratina's eyes.

Chapter 19: [DEL]To Infinity and Beyond[/DEL] Gotta change the Chapter title since I'd be using a copy righted phrase there. Anyway, Toy Story references aside, our heroes will now head to outer space with Jason, Shade and Gwen to meet with the Team Chaos Boss. However when they discover something is amiss onboard their Space Station, they maybe in greater danger then ever before.

Here's a little something something I've been working on. I'm working on some Character Bio's for this Fan Fic series and the first one is finally done. So for the fans who are interested, Here's Lucas' Bio.

I'm also working on character bio's for Chase, Vik, and AJ. We'll probably do something for Team Chaos but not sure right now.

Oh and if you think Shade had a rough life wait until you see the surprise I have for Chapter 21.

FYI, I was working on chapters 18 and 19 at the same time. This one was easier to focus on since it's moving the plot forward unlike the previous chapter. If you scroll down to my signature you can find links to some of the Pokemon I've created for this fan fic.

Chapter 19: Out of Orbit

Chase, Vik, AJ, Lucas, Gwen, Krystal, Amy, and Brad were all waiting for Shade and Jason to return. Gwen already received a text message from Shade saying that they’d be there in a minute. However it was getting late and the weather continued to cool down. Even for Californian weather it was chilly.
Chase: “Brr, and here I thought it was cold back at home. Hey Gwen, I know we’re sixty years ahead of our time but is it still winter here?”
Gwen: “Today’s Febuary 24, so technically it is still winter.”

Lucas: “Aw, I missed my birthday.” Lucas kicked a glass shard on the ground and it slid over toward a destroyed flat screen monitor. Gwen then walked over to him and handed him his PRi.
Gwen: “Here Lucas. I’ve healed all four of your Pokémon. Gallade should be fine now.” Lucas took the device from Gwen.
Lucas: “Thanks Gwen. Spiny, come on out.” Lucas pressed a few commands on the touch screen and released his Nidorino. The Pokémon then came by Lucas’ side and rubbed its face against his leg.
AJ: “You always let Spiny out at night time.” Lucas knelt down and petted his Pokémon.

Lucas: “Well we get so much homework and busy with football and baseball practice we hardly ever get time to hand out with our Pokémon.” Spiny’s ears twitched and then it turned its head toward the direction of a sound it heard.
Spiny: “Nido?” Spiny’s ears kept on twitching.
Chase: “Does Spiny hear something?” Spiny closed its eyes and kept on listening. Its ears kept on twitching. Finally it began running off.
Spiny: “Nidorino Nido!”

Lucas: “Wait, Spiny, where are you going?” Lucas began running after his Pokémon.
AJ: “Oh no, not again.” AJ began to follow Lucas.
Vik: “What’s up?”
AJ: “Last time Spiny heard something we couldn’t we ended up running into Espedow and it kidnapped both of Lucas’ Pokémon. I’m going with him to make sure that doesn’t happen again.” AJ continued to follow his younger brother.
Gwen: “Well at least he didn’t hear Shade or Jason.”

Amy: “Hey Gwen, here they come.” Sure enough Jason and Shade were approaching the destroyed room where everyone else was waiting.
Gwen: “Here come the fireworks.” Meanwhile Spiny ran to another area of the wrecked base. It then stopped for a minute and listened. Lucas caught up to it and watched as its ears twitched for another moment.
Spiny: “Rino!” Spiny ran off and continued to run along side the wall of the base. There were two leaves sticking out of chunks of concrete. Lucas wondered weather if it was a plant or a Pokémon buried under the wreckage. Giratina had left its mark by leaving huge holes in the wall and chunks of concrete piled around on the ground. Someone placed a hand on Lucas’ should and he jumped.

Lucas: “Ah! Back off!”
AJ: “Hey bro, take it easy. It’s me.” Lucas took a deep breathe to calm himself.
Lucas: “Don’t sneak up on me like that.”
AJ: “So, what’s out here?” Lucas pointed at the rubble in front of him and Spiny.
Lucas: “Something is buried here.” Spiny jumped up with its tail glowing. It used Iron Tail and slammed it on the concrete slab. It shattered it smaller pieces of concrete crumbled and fell down to the ground. Lucas and AJ then walked over and then started to dig out the Pokémon buried in the debris. Lucas then reached down and felt something hard. He then struggled for a moment to lift up the Pokémon.

Lucas (struggling): “Gr, you should… take me… weight lifting… with you… more often… AJ.”
AJ: “As if my coach would let you into the weight room.” AJ removed another chunk of concrete and then the Pokémon came free. Lucas was almost thrown off balance from the sudden shift of weight as the quickly picked up the Pokémon. He caught his balance and then took a closer look at the Pokémon he was holding.
Lucas: “Cool, it’s a Turtwig!” Lucas looked at the turtle Pokémon. It was now unconscious and there were visible bruises and scratch marks all over its shell and head.

AJ: “It’s injured. I wonder if it just cried for help and Spiny was able to hear it.” Lucas looked even closer and saw that the back of its shell had been chipped off. The scar was about the size of a nickel. Lucas wondered how much it hurt for Turtwig to be damaged that badly. Then he soon realized that his arms started to get sore from holding up the 22lb turtle. He set it down on the ground and then held out his PRi.
Lucas: “I’m going to take care of it. Turtwig, you’re going to feel better from now on.” He pressed a button on his touchscreen. “Capture on!” A white beam shot out from the lens on his PRi and it recalled Turtwig. An animation on the top screen then played on his PRi fo Turtwig being placed into a pokeball. Lucas then noticed something as the Turtwig sprite entered the Pokéball.

AJ: “So now you captured you’re favorite Sinnoh starter?”
Lucas: “AJ, Turtwigs are normally green, right?” AJ gasped.
AJ: “Wait, you think it was a shiny Turtwig?” In the dim moonlight it was hard to tell if the Turtwig’s skin color was the usual green or turquoise. Lucas then looked back at his PRi screens and a message was displayed.

Give a nickname to the captured Turtwig?

The three Team Chaos Admins got together and talked in private by stepping away from Chase and all his friends.
Jason: “Why would I want to help Chase and his friends? They caused me quite a bit of grief the last time I saw them.” They were debating weather or not to take the group to their head quarters in their space station so their PRi’s could be reprogrammed to hand calling out legendary Pokémon.
Gwen: “Jason just let it go. If they leave we’ll never have to think about them ever again and move on with our own lives. It looks to me that in the end Xero got what he wanted. Team Chaos is finished and must now disband.”

Shade: “No. We aren’t finished. Xero maybe gone but that pesky fifth gen Pokémon of his is still running around causing us too much trouble. I say we get rid of them and Espedow.”
Jason: “Not to mention they stole out technology. If we help them they must give back the PRi’s.”
Shade: “Heck, I’ll be more then happy to take their PRi’s by force.”
Gwen: “Fine, I just want to send them back to their time. Since I’ve spent the most time with them I’ll ask them to agree to our terms. Jason get ready to send us to the Team Chaos Space Station.” The three of them broke from their little meeting and then Gwen walked over to Chase and the others.

Chase: “So, what’s the plan?”
Gwen: “We’ll send you home. Once someone hands over their PRi to Jason he can reprogram it to call out a Celebi and send you guys back home.”
Brad: “Howcome his PRi doesn’t contain a Celebi?”
Gwen: “Shade’s reprogrammed to handle Darkrai. Jason’s calls out Regigigas. As for me, I got Suicune. So it has to be one of you guys who will receive Celebi.” Vik and his fellow Team Rocket cosplayers Amy and Brad looked at each other. Chase looked through his Pokémon storage boxes on his Diamond game.
Brad: “No worries. I got a Celebi in my Diamond game. Chase and Vik can just use whatever legendary they want.”

Chase: “You sure Brad. I also have a Celebi from the Journey Across America event couple years back.” Chase looked at Brad who was adjusting his Team Rocket bandana tied around his head.
Brad: “Yeah I’m sure.” He put his hands down after retying the knot on his bandana.
Lucas: “Hey guys!” The group looked over and saw AJ and Lucas running towards them. AJ was a faster runner then his brother and caught up to the group first.
AJ: “What’s the plan?” AJ was breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath.
Gwen: “I’ll explain in our space station. Ready Jason?” She looked over to Jason and Shade. They had released a Claydol. Gwen then released her Gardevoir once again.

Shade: “We Teleport on Jason’s signal. Ok?” Gwen nodded.
Jason: “Alright, to the Team Chaos Space Station. Ready… Teleport!” Claydol, Jason, and Shade disappeared first. Then Gwen along with her new friends also disappeared. Everyone then found themselves in a metallic room designed to look like a hotel room. Vik stomped the steel ground and heard the clanging sound echo around the room.
Jason: “Could you please not do that?” He and Gwen then recalled their Pokémon. Chase looked around in astonishment. The walls, ceiling, and floor were just steel panels, with light panels across the ceiling that stretched from one end of the room to the other. There was a window that looked down to the Earth from where they stood. Chase found himself looking down at Europe and Africa.

Chase: “This is amazing.”
Amy: “Wait, shouldn’t we be weightless in zero gravity?” Jason chuckled for a moment and pushed his eye glasses upward back on the bridge of his nose.
Jason: “Ever heard of the Pokémon Jirachi and Clefable. We have a dozen of those pokemon onboard constantly using Gravity attack to generate artificial gravity on our space station. As for our electricy, of course we have solar panels to receive power from the sun, but there are Raichu and Manectric on board who discharge their electricity when needed.” Brad whistled in amazement.
Brad: “Big props on cleverly using Pokémon to make this space station function in such a way.” Brad then looked over to a mirror and saw that his gut was a bit rounder then he originally though. “Man, I look fatter in outer space then I do back down on Earth.”

Amy: “Oh, maybe the fake gravity just adds ten pounds.” She went up and gave Brad a hug.
Shade: “Yeah, yeah, I can see you are all impressed with our HQ but now to get down to business. Jason has a laboratory on board and now if all of you would be so kind to hand over your PRi’s for reprogramming we’ll get to work on sending you home. (thinking) And out of our lives..
Brad: “You just need one PRi, right.” Brad voluntarily handed over his PRi to Jason.
Jason: “Everyone’s.”
Chase: “What?” Gwen tapped Chase on the shoulder.

Gwen: “Do as he says. Now’s not the time to hold grudges.” Reluctantly, Chase, Vik, AJ, and Amy eached gave up their PRi’s, but Chase was the only one who decided to take out his Diamond game and slip it into his pocket. Shade then approached Lucas.
Shade: “Hand it over kid.” Lucas kept his PRi in his pocket.
Lucas: “No!”
Shade: “That wasn’t a request, you little pest.” Gwen then stepped in between Lucas and Shade.
Gwen: “Let me handle this. I’m better with kids then you are Shade.”
Shade: “Fine.” Gwen then bent down so she was at Lucas’ eye level.

Gwen: “Lucas, could you please give me your PRi?” Gwen was talking in a very polite manner.
Lucas: “Why, I don’t have Diamond or Pearl so what’s the point? Besides, Twigster’s not healed yet.”
Vik & Chase: “Twigster?”
AJ: “Spiny heard a Turtwig so Lucas captured it soon after.” Jason was then alarmed at what AJ had just said. The Turtwig Lucas captured must have been the one he was experimenting on with their newest Pokémon modification program.
Jason: “Wait, the brat caught a Turtwig? Is it a Shiny Turtwig?”
Shade: “Why do you care? Turtwig is pathetic.”

Lucas: “Says you.”
Jason: “Gwen, I want that kid’s PRi, and I don’t care if he has a game card to call Pokémon from or not!”
Gwen: “No Jason. Lucas is right. There really is no point in reprogramming his PRi. Now let’s go.”
Jason: “Fine, the kid can keep it… for now.” Jason walked to a metallic door which looked similar to an elevator door. The motion sensor detected him and the doors slid opened. He and Shade walked out.
Gwen: “Now, let me show you to your rooms.”
AJ: “Huh? We’re spending the night?”

Gwen: “We have on board dormitories. Didn’t you notice the couch in this room?” AJ looked back at the brown couch sitting against the wall. Then Gwen stepped out of the room and they all followed her down the metallic hallway. Chase felt a bit claustrophobic in the small hallway. Lucas looked up and the row of hallway lights above him. He noticed that one light panel above him was burned out. The hallway then split into two pathways. Gwen led them toward the left.
Chase: “Where does the other way go?”
Gwen: “Our onboard R&D center, along with Jason laboratory.”
Vik: “Does this place have a battle arena as well like the one back on Earth.”

Gwen: “Nope, we don’t allow battles onboard otherwise we could destroy this station.” Finally they arrived at rounded chamber with seven doors. The chamber had the ceiling rounded up in a dome shape. At the center of the dome was a chandelier with transparent crystals hanging on the side.
Gwen: “That door in the center of the other six doors is the lavatory. The other six doors are where you’ll spend the night. Now in the morning we’ll send you home. There are extra night gowns and pajamas if you need them, although probably not in Lucas’ size.”
Chase: “Not too bad. What about you Gwen?”

Gwen: “I’ll keep an eye on Jason and Shade. Then I need to meet up with Krystal again.” Chase and the others finally realized that they have left Krystal behind.
Vik: “Hey is Krystal anyway?”
Gwen: “Let me worry about her and your PRi’s. Not get some sleep.” Gwen headed back up the hallway from where she came from. Chase took the room on the furthest left while AJ and Lucas decided to share the room next to him. Amy and Brad took the next room closest to the restroom. Vik took the other room next to the restroom. They each said goodnight to one another and one by one fell asleep.

Later that night Lucas heard a noise that woke him up instantly. He removed the covers and got up. He could hear footsteps in the chamber outside the door. He looked at the second bed where AJ was sleeping. The footsteps outside grew louder. Although he was feeling nervous he steeped in front of the motion sensor that opened the sliding door. The figure outside was his Gallade. It appeared to be standing guard. The odd thing was he didn’t remember releasing his Gallade.
Lucas: “Phew, Gallade you scared me for a moment. What you doing out here?” Gallade had its back turned Lucas. Then it turned around with its eyes glowing red. Lucas had seen this before and then remember Espedow’s ability to control other Pokemon. Gallade then used Confusion to life Lucas and pinned him against the wall.

Lucas: “Gallade, stop! It’s me, your friend Lucas!” Lucas then heard a sinister evil laugh. Then out of the dark hallway stepped forward Espedow. It was controlling Gallade.
Espedow (telepathically): We have some unfinished business. Gallade’s right arm began glowing blue. Here came a Psycho Cut attack.
Lucas: “Gallade, stop! Please, Gallade come back to your senses.” Gallade swung its arm and blue blade was heading right toward him. It was doing to cut him in the stomach.
Lucas: “Nooooooo!”

Lucas: “Ah!” Lucas sat straight up in his bed breathing heavily. It was all just a nightmare. He then placed a hand on his chest and felt his heart pounding rapidly. He soon caught his breath and got out of bed. After that little panic attack he felt like he needed to use the bathroom. He looked back at the second bed where AJ was sleeping. Despite Lucas screams he was still sound asleep.

Lucas slipped on his shoes and headed out of his dorm room. The chandelier was turned off, but small lights along the wall made it so that he could see where the restroom door was. He walked along the wall and then used the bathroom. After flushing the toilet he began to wash his hands. He wondered how Team Chaos managed to get water onboard a space station. Something wet then touched Lucas. Had the toilet over flown?

Lucas turned and to his surprise an aquatic monster was coming out of the toilet. Its body was pure liquid, seemingly made out of water. It had two bulky arms with three curved fingers. When the fingers joined one another it made the arms look like giant fins. The creature’s head was round with the back of its head forming a dorsal fin. Its eyes were two round dark blue saucers. The lower part of its body was still in the toilet with water spilling out. The creature then let out a vicious roar.

Lucas screamed and ran out of the bathroom. He heard his shoes squeak against the metallic ground as he ran back to his room. He got inside, turned on the lights, and then shook AJ vigorously.
Lucas: “AJ! AJ! Get up! Monster’s on board!” It took AJ a while but he swatted Lucas’ arms and then stretched. Then he slowly got up and brushed his bangs of hair to one side.
AJ: “Knock it off Lucas. You’re having a bad dream.” Lucas then took off one of his shoes.
Lucas: “Look, my shoe is wet.” He forced it into AJ’s hand. AJ could feel the damp shoe. “There’s something in the toilet. It was going to attack me.” AJ found it odd that Lucas’s shoe was wet. Then he noticed that part the back part of the sole of Lucas’ shoe was melted.

AJ: “Lucas, how did the back of your shoe melt here?”
Lucas: “Huh?” It was melted, but only a tiny bit. Was the liquid the monster he encountered made out of some kind of acid?
AJ: “I’ll take a look outside.”
Lucas: “Wait, you don’t have your Pokémon, remember?”
AJ: “OK then, you get your PRi and get ready to release a Pokémon if necessary.” Lucas was still scared, but he followed his brother’s instructions. Then AJ slipped on his sneakers and waited for the motion sensor to open the door.

Lucas: “You sure about this?”
AJ: “Relax, I’m sure you probably just got your shoe wet while washing your hands.” The chandelier had come back on. AJ and Lucas gasped at what they saw. There were footsteps in the steel ground. They were rounded with hot steel glowing red that was risen up around the foot steps. There were drops of magma within each footprint in the floor, and they went all the way around the chamber going to and from the hallway. Lucas remembered hearing footsteps outside his room. That part of his nightmare was real!
Lucas: “I think I probably stepped in one of those footprints in the dark and that’s what melted my shoe.”
AJ: “Yeah, and it looks like you were right Lucas. Something is onboard.”

Another awesome chapter Cyber, I wonder what the pokemon is (as if I didn't already know by looking at your signature:wink:). I hope the pokemon gets captured and I hope Twigster gets better since it got the same punichment Chatot got from Giratina.

Chapter 20

OK, I'd say 5 chapters away from this story's end. For now enjoy.

Chapter 20: The Future of Pokemon

After leaving Chase and all their friends to rest in the on board dormitories Gwen headed back up the hallway to regroup with the other two Team Chaos Admins. She went down the other hallway that was across from the chamber. The hallway to the laboratory went downhill with a hand rail on the side and curved along with the round shape of the space station. Soon she reached a double door and pressed her hand against a green panel. The panel flashed as it read her hand print and granted her access. The double doors slid opened and she walked in.
Jason was in the lab holding a blue PRi in his hand that was connected to a super computer. The LCD monitor linked to the computer displayed a progress bar slowly filling up with a PRi icon above it. Shade was standing next to a window panned that stretched from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. He stared out back to the stars and moon which shifted eastward as the space station continued its orbit around the Earth.

Gwen: “Our ‘guests’ are taking a break right now. We shouldn’t have anymore problems until we send them home.” Shade and Jason remained silent. The progress bar on the monitor then filled and the letters “OK” appeared. Jason then disconnected the PRi from the computer and carelessly tossed it on the counter with the other PRi’s.
Jason: “My job’s done here. Shade, care to join me for a latte?” Shade sighed and walked toward the door as Jason prepared to press his hand on the scanner next to the double doors. Then they all heard a loud footstep. The footsteps steadily grew louder and louder.

Shade: “What the heck?” Gwen tapped Shade on the shoulder. When he looked at her she held a finger up to her lips signaling him to keep quiet. Soon the footsteps were outside the lab door and the three Team Chaos Admins could hear a pokemon roaring as it walked by. Each footstep near the double doors seemed to shake the lab. The PRi’s rattled on the steel counter with footstep. Shortly after the shaking stopped the footsteps began to fade away. Gwen looked around the lab and saw that hooked into the super computer was a flash drive. She rushed over and pulled it out to inspect it.

Gwen: “Jason, did you know this was here?”
Jason: “No. Why?” He pressed his hand on the scanner so the doors would open.
Gwen: “This is Krystal’s flash drive. This thing has data on some of the fifth generation pokemon that Ken Sugimori and Satoshi Tajiri designed. I think Espedow may have Teleported here and used to flash drive to call out a deadly Pokémon.” Jason then became concerned. The scanner flashed green and he took his hand off.

Jason: “That’s impossible. A Pokémon cannot teleport anywhere unless it has either been there physically. All of our security data has no records of Espedow being on board before.”
Shade: “Jason, you idiot. A Pokémon can also Teleport to a place if the trainer visualizes the place. Xero has been on board this space station before so it probably knew of this place.” The doors then slid opened. Jason and Gwen gasped at what they saw. The footprints the Pokémon left behind were red hot on the steel ground. Drops of magma were in each of the round footprints and red hot steel had risen up around them.

Gwen: “You don’t think a Camerupt did this, do you?”
Jason: “No, Camerupt’s footprints would be hoofed shaped. These are perfectly round and slightly bigger then a Camerupt’s would be.” Gwen looked back at the flash drive she held in her hand. She wondered what horror had been unleashed in the space station. If the Pokémon did have volcanic powers, the space station could easily be destroyed. If it melted a hole in any of the walls the air pressure would decrease and everyone on board could suffocate. She decided not to imagine the worst and grabbed her PRi from its sheath on her belt.

Gwen: “Gardevoir, I need your help!” Gardevoir appeared and Shade and Jason walked out into the hallway.
Shade: “Where are you going?”
Gwen: “I’m going back down to Earth to find out more about this pokemon. In the meantime make sure everyone on board is safe. Gardevoir, Teleport!” Gardevoir nodded and then the two of them vanished. Shade and Jason then split up. Jason headed toward the Boss’ room further up the hallway where the footprints originated from while Shade followed them down the hall.

It was an hour later when AJ and Lucas discovered the same footprints outside their dormitory. They were both nervous as to what had passed by their rooms. Lucas was the only one who didn’t give his PRi to Jason so he’d be the one to do all the battling. They both stared at the chamber’s floor from where the footprints coming down from the hall were cooling down while the footprints heading back up the same hallway were still red hot.
Lucas: “What do we do now?”

AJ: “We wake the others and find a way off this space station. I’m checking out of Hotel Chaos right now.” AJ and Lucas split up and went to different rooms. Lucas headed into Vik’s room while AJ went inside Chase’s. Lucas saw that Chase decided to sleep without any sheets or blankets. He slept on top of the covers instead with his iPod headphones tangled around his right arm. Lucas decided to turn on the iPod nano. He placed both headphones in Chase’s ears and played The Pokegym Roundtable Podcast at full volume. Chase woke up instantly.

Kim Carrey: “Welcome to the Pokegym Roundtable Podcast episode –“ Chase paused the podcast and then growled at Lucas.
Chase: “What was that for you brat?” Chase took off the headphones and wrapped the cord around his iPod.
Lucas: “Hey, you told me you’re a heavy sleeper so I wanted to make sure you’d wake up.”
Chase: “That doesn’t mean you can barge in and cause me to need a hearing aid.”
Lucas: “Nevermind, Chase. We’re in danger!”
Chase: “Huh?”

AJ didn’t have much trouble waking Vik up. He just flicked him on the forehead and he was awake instantly.
Vik: “Dude, what the heck?”
AJ: “Vik, we gotta get out of here. Look out the door.” Soon all four friends came out into the chamber. Chase and Vik could not believe the footprints they saw.
Vik: “Is this a joke? Are those Admins trying to kill us?”
Chase: “I wouldn’t be surprised.”
Lucas: “No way! Gwen wouldn’t hurt us.”
AJ: “But Jason and Shade would.”

Vik: “Who’s checked on Amy and Brad?” The four of them looked at one another and then carefully avoiding the hot footprints walked over to the door where Amy and Brad had decided to spend the night. The room was empty. They checked the other rooms just to be sure. Amy and Brad were no where to be found.
Vik: “Where did they go?”
Lucas: “That creature from the toilet must’ve attacked them.”
Chase: “What on earth are you talking about?”
AJ: “Lucas claims that a water Pokémon came out of the toilet and attacked him.” Chase and Vik looked at Lucas with puzzled looks.
Lucas: “Quit looking at me like that. I know what I saw.”
Vik: “Dude, Lucas just calm down. If you really saw a water Pokémon then what made these molten footprints on the ground?” At that moment they heard a roar. The creature that was in the chamber earlier sounded enraged.

Chase: “We should get our PRi’s and get out of here.”
Vik: “What about Brad and Amy?”
AJ: “They can take care of themselves. Now let’s go.” The four of them began to follow the footprints up the hallway. The set of footprints on the right were cooled while the second set on the left were still red hot. They had to be cautious as they walked so that they wouldn’t burn themselves. Soon they heard someone’s voice echoing through the metallic hallways.
Shade: “Why is this happening?” They all heard his voice echo and knew they were getting close. Soon the sounds of two pokemon battling could be here. They reached the fork in the hallway and followed the sounds of the pokemon battle. The molten footprints were cool here as the warmer set of footprints went the other direction.

Lucas: “Why are we walking toward Shade?”
Vik: “He probably has our PRi’s.” There was a loud metallic bang. Something hit the wall up ahead pretty hard.
Shade (echoing): “Careful or you’ll bust a hole in the space station.” A pokemon roared and then there came more metallic clanging sounds. Chase and his friends walked past the double doors to the lab where their PRi’s were being kept. Soon the hallway split again.

“<-- Experimentation Room
Life Force Chamber -->”

The footprints seem to have originated from the direction of the Life Force Chamber. The sounds of battle came from the direction of the Experimentation Room.
Lucas: “What’s a life force chamber?”
Chase: “I don’t know, but whatever Shade is battling it’s coming from that direction.” They began walking toward the Experimentation room following the sounds of battle. The Experimentation room was a short walk down the hall with another set of double doors, but one door was jammed with an electrical cable sticking out from the top of the door’s arch. They were wrecked and left opened. The four friends then crept closer to the door to peek inside. Just as they got to the door a wave of water flashed by.
Lucas: “That’s it! That’s the creature I saw.” Another Pokemon appeared. It was Shade’s Luxray.
Shade: “Zap that aquatic freak! Thunderbolt now!” Shade’s Luxray sparked and then let loosed a bolt of electricity at the water monster that Lucas saw. The monster was struck and then melted into a puddle. Chase and his friends came into the room and saw the water creature moved about while staying in its puddle form.

Vik: “What is that thing?”
Shade: “What are you bozos doing awake?”
Chase (sarcastically): “You woke us up.” A fountain of water bursts out from the living puddle. Then it took a more human shaped form. The head curved into a shark like fin. Both arms were long with three fingers each. The creature’s eyes were dark blue saucers. The bottom half of its body was still in the puddle shape. It roared in anger.
AJ: “A humanoid water creature.” The creature then spun around its body and created a whirl pool. The attack headed for Shade and his Luxray. Luxray struggled to stay on the ground but was soon lifted up and sucked into the whirlpool. Lucas then got out his PRi.

Lucas: “Twigster, help us out!” Lucas held out his PRi and a flash of light burst from the top lens. A shiny Turtwig then appeared with a nickel sized hole in its shell that was previously chipped off.
Shade: “Stay out of this battle kid! This thing is way out of your league.”
Lucas: “Fine. Twigster and I will just go and play then.”
Luxray: “Lux-raaaaaaay.” Everyone could hear the Pokémon howl as it spun around in the towering water cyclone. They could see its claws slashing through rings of water as it struggled to escape.
AJ: “Lucas, this water creature’s dangerous. At least set Luxray free so if can finish it off.” Lucas checked Twigster’s status screen for its attacks.

Lucas: “Ok fine. Twigster, use Leaf Storm!” Twigster’s leaves on its head began glowing. Then it charged forward and unleashed a cyclone of bright green glowing leaves from the two leaves on its head. The water creature roared in pain and Luxray fell to the ground. Then water splashed down all around Twigster and Luxray. The water Pokémon was reduced to a small puddle that lay motionless on the ground. All the trainers were in shock that Twigster was able to take it down in one hit while Shade and his Luxray had to struggle.
Lucas: “Woah, that was an epic leaf storm.”

Shade: “Luxray, ice that sucker with Ice Fang, now!” Luxray’s fangs glowed with white-blue energy and it bit the puddle. The puddle became frozen solid.
AJ: “Uh, here little bro. Let me see Twigster’s stats.” AJ took Lucas’ PRi and touched a few buttons on the touch screen to check Twigster’s summary. Lucas then gasped.
Lucas: “No way! Attack, Defense, HP! Everything is…” He took a deep breath before speaking again. “… Over NINE-THOUSSSSSAAAAAND!” After hearing Lucas’ reaction everyone else collapsed from hearing the bad joke.

Vik: “No Pokémon can even get a stat over one thousand.”
Chase: “Besides, that joke is over used Lucas. Makes me wonder where you get that sense of humor from.”
Lucas: "It's used on Youtube alot. So I've always wanted to do that." Lucas smiled and then reached down to pet Twigster.
Shade: “Wait a sec, I think that’s the same Turtwig Jason was reprogramming.”
Chase: “You mean hacking.”
Shade: “Whatever. Luxray, return.” Shade touched a command on his PRi’s touch screen and a red retractor beam hit Luxray and called it back into his Platinum game. Shade then began to head out of the room.
Vik: “What a sec, dude. Where are our PRi’s?”
Shade: “In the lab. Get them yourselves.” Shade walked out past the damaged door. Chase and his friends followed. As they left, the frozen puddle began to crack and melt.

Shade walked down the hallway until he saw the molten footprints leading away from the life force chamber. He wondered about what other pokemon that was on board. His PRi then beeped signaling him that he received a message. He slid the device from its sheath on his hip, unfolded the device, and then read the message on his screen.

Need help! Boss’ room!
~Jason

Shade closed the PRi and then heard Chase call his name.
Chase: “Shade, give us back our PRi’s. We’re ready to head home.” Shade scoffed but then walked down the hallway where the footprints were headed. They quickly arrived at the lab door. He placed his hand on the panel next to the doors and waited for it to scan his hand print and grant him access to the lab.
Shade: “When the door opens grab your PRi’s and head home. Jason reprogrammed just one with Celebi.” As soon as the double doors slid opened he began walking out. Chase and his friends walked into the lab. Lucas’ Turtwig was still outside of his PRi walking by his side. Sure enough there were five PRi’s sitting on a desk next to a flat screen monitor mounted on the wall.

Vik: “Who’s going to hang onto Brad and Amy’s PRi’s?”
AJ: “Why not you? You’re part of their cosplay team after all.” Vik closely inspected the PRi’s that belonged to his friends and discovered something fishy. Both of their PRi’s had their game cartridges taken out. Apparently they had other plans. Then suddenly they heard the sound of water dropping.
Lucas: “Did you guys hear that?” Soon the sound of water dropping turned into the sound of water running.
Chase: “You don’t think…”

Lucas: “Over there!” Lucas pointed out the lab door and the same liquid puddle they battled earlier was moving in the hallway and coming into the lab. Twigster then left Lucas’ side and prepared to battle it a second time.
AJ: “Get ready.” The puddle then began to form its upper body. First the arms formed, then the head with the dorsal fin on top. The two saucer eyes came last. It roared at then formed an icy fist.
Lucas: “Twigster, Leaf storm, again!” Twigster fired a cyclone of leaves but this time the water creature was able to resist it. After the leaves vanished it punched Twigster with its frozen fist. Twigster was knocked back into the counter.

AJ: “Lucas, Leaf Storm loses power every time you use it.”
Lucas: “Oops, and I know Ice attacks are not good for Grass Types. Come on Twigster, get back in action.” The water creature then began to form a ring of water. It was a Water Pulse attack.
Vik: “Guys, incoming!” Twigster was down for the count. Apparently this water type Pokémon was also hacked for perfect stats. The water Pokémon then fired rings of water. Just then a flying bird pokemon flew into the lab.

Chatot: “Chatot to the rescue!” Chatot flew in and used Heat Wave to evaporate the Water Pulse attack. Krystal, Gwen, and Gardevoir could be seen through the water creature’s transparent body.
Gwen: “Gardevoir, Teleport that thing into our water basin!” Gardevoir then held out an arm while its eyes began glowing white. The water creature then vanished.
Chase: “Phew, good timing.”
Gwen: “You guys alright?”
AJ: “Just what was that thing?” Chatot then flew onto Krystal’s shoulder who was looking through her small lap top.

Chatot: “According to Krystal’s lab top, that was Liquoid. Water type Pokémon and a Stage 1 evolution capable of evolving further. Liquoid humanoid Pokémon capable of manipulating its own body to travel anywhere and maintain any shape. Liquoid was science experiment modeled after the Mewtwo cloning experiment.”
Gwen: “Thanks Chatot.” She petted the bird on its head while Krystal closed her lap top and put it in her bag that hung from her shoulder.

Lucas: “Yeah, you came in the nick of time.” Chatot then flew over to Lucas.
Chatot: “Aren’t you going to thank Chatot?”
Lucas: “I thought Gwen thanked you for all of us.”
Chatot: “Chatot saved you and your friends. Bogus needs to learn how to be a better trainer for battling.”
Lucas (irritated): “Get my name right. It’s Lucas.”
Chatot: “Bogus Lucas.”
Lucas: “Why you!” Lucas reached behind Chatot and yanked out a green feather from its rear end.
Chatot: “Rawk! Watch it buddy or Chatot will Pluck you right where it hurts, and Chatot knows that your – Rawk!” This time it was Krystal who pulled a green feather. When Chatot saw its own trainer it knew it had to quiet down.

AJ: “OK, now that that’s over what do we do next?”
Gwen: “Where are your friends Brad and Amy?”
Vik: “We have no idea.”
Gwen: “There’s an emergency in the Boss’ headquarters. We should head there and find out what’s going on. Follow me.” Everyone left immediately except AJ and Lucas. Lucas looked back at his injured Pokémon. He then held out his PRi.
Lucas: “Thanks for trying Twigster. Now return.” Twigster was called back into his PRi.
AJ: “Think it’ll be ok?”
Lucas: “I thought a hacked Pokémon with perfect stats would always win.”
AJ: “Well that’s the theory, but not always the case. Even a hacked Pokémon has weaknesses like how Leaf Storm weakened its Special Attack power.”
Lucas: “I still don’t get it.” Lucas slid his PRi into his pocket.

AJ: “Let’s go.” Lucas looked up at his older brother and nodded. The two of them decided to follow the group. They were walking up the hall following the molten footprints. Vik and Chase were talking to Gwen while Krystal held out her lap top again showing them a picture of a fire type pokemon. It was composed of lava and looked like a hunch backed humanoid creature while resting on all fours. Its back contained hardened magma, making it appear that a volcano was forming on its back.
Gwen: “According to the information Jason sent me, the creature that left these footprints is a Volcanoid. It’s the fire type counterpart of that Liquoid we just fought.”
Vik: “Fire and water. How typical.”

Chase: “Well Volacoid and Liquoid and better counterparts then Volbeat and Illumise, Plusle and Minun, and Wailord and Camerupt if you ask me.” They all made it to where the hallway splits. They found more recent footprints that were still emitted heat. When Gwen stepped on a piece of molten steel it snapped and the chip fell into the round footprint.
Gwen: “We’re close.” From behind them another Pokémon followed. A Pokémon they already knew. Xero’s Espedow followed closely behind but kept enough distance to where no one heard its footsteps. It was going to follow them to check on the battle between Volcanoid and the Team Chaos Admins.

Chatot: “Remember, stay away from Volcanoid. Touching it will hurt big time. When humans get burned they can’t recover and Volcanoid’s body is made of magma. Magma hurts. Magma burns.”
Lucas: “OK, we get it.” The footprints in the hallway were redder and redder as they proceeded. Suddenly they heard something hit the wall near them.
Chase: “What was that?” The wall next to them began getting red and they could hear the metal sizzle.
Chatot: “Duck and cover! Do a barrel roll!” Everyone got away from the steel wall as it began to liquefy and melt. Then two huge round arms punched through the hot metal. It was Volcanoid and it was causing havoc in the base.
Chase: “Woah, too hot to handle.”

AJ: “Not for me, I live for water types. Now let’s go RustBucket!” AJ brought out his PRi and then from the flash of light a shiny Kingler appeared. Vik was the most appalled by AJ’s choice of a battler.
Vik: “What the heck is that?”
AJ: “Chase isn’t the only one good at chaining Shinies. RustBucket, use Crab Hammer.” AJ’s Kingler jumped up with its huge pincer glowing. It then smacked Volcanoid on the head. Volcanoid roared with anger and then absorbed the hot liquid on the ground into its body. Then its lunged at RustBucket with the hot liquid being contained in its fore limb.

Chatot: “Krystal says that’s Magma Impact attack!” The arm with all the hot liquid hit RustBuck. AJ looked at his screen and saw his Pokemon’s HP dwindle down to less then half. Then the red BRN icon for burn appeared. RustBucket has been severely weakened.
AJ: “Think we should retreat?”
Gwen: “What about Shade and the others?”
Chase: “Frankly, I don’t care about the other Team Chaos members.” Just as Chase turned around a Dark Pulse attack shot right by him and hit RustBucket. AJ saw on his PRi screen that its HP was now down to one forth. Espedow then stepped forward.
Espedow (telepathically): Nobody’s going anywhere.
Vik: “What?”

Espedow: You hurt master Xero. Allow Volcanoid and I to return the favor. Espedow began charging another Dark Pulse attack in its hands and four fingers. Vik and the others could feel the heat radiating from Volcanoid’s body.
Vik: “I get it, you want revenge. You know dude, you should just chill and get a better trainer like me.” Espedow fired the Dark Pulse attack but aimed right above Vik’s head on purpose.
Espedow: The next one won’t miss. Chase could feel sweat forming on his face. He couldn’t tell if it was from nervousness or the heat being given off from Volcanoid’s body. AJ stared at his Shiny Kingler and wondered what attack to use next. He knew his burned Pokémon couldn’t stand up to the both of them. Vik considered sending out his Scizor but didn’t dare to do anything rash as Espedow held a Dark Pulse attack aimed at him. Vik gulped and closed his eyes.

Oh darn it! I knew I was forgetting something when editing this chapter earlier today. Oh well, I'll have the Giratina Origin Forme in the next chapter, but gotta find the right spot to add it in. As usual it'll be 1-2 weeks before I post a new chapter.

Chapter 21: Vengeance

Jason ran down a curving metallic hallway in the space station following Volcanoid’s footprints from where they originated from. They came from the one of the two Space Station’s main rooms, his father’s office. The door leading into the room was destroyed with a huge hole that was supposedly melted. Inside was Commander Serph, but was lying on the floor and silent.
Jason: “Father!” He ran over to his father who was soaking wet and lying near a computer. His PRi was on the ground next to him unfolded with the touch screen displaying his team of six Pokémon asking him which one he wanted to send out. Jason put two and two together and saw that someone had attacked Commander Serph without giving him enough time to react. He then decided to walk over to the computer and review the security camera.

Jason typed in his Team Chaos ID and password on the computer and then accesses the space station’s security. He then accessed the video files of his father’s office. Commander Serph was wearing a headset to communicate with Shade and Gwen back down on Earth after the battle with Giratina. He could see his father sitting in his office chair looking down through the wall to ceiling window to the planet.
Commander Serph: “Reunite with Jason and come here to the Space Station.” Jason couldn’t hear Gwen’s side of the conversation but then he saw something move in the corner of the screen. He paused the screen and rewound the footage frame by frame until he saw the thing that moved.

It was a moving puddle of water. The water type Pokémon that Shade battled before, Liquoid. Jason then played the footage at normal speed and then saw the surprise in his father’s face when he turned and face the direction of his office doors.
Commander Serph: “No, not you.”
???: “Goodbye… Hunter. Now Liquoid!” A fountain of water exploded around Commander Serph. He quickly reached for his PRi on his desk but was soon trapped by the walls of water that surrounded him. The headset he was wearing was knocked off and fell on the floor. The chair slid away on its four wheels as Commander Serph found himself under water and holding his breath. He dropped his PRi.

???: “Ha ha ha, this is the beginning of the end!” Jason was too shock from the horror he watching of his father drowning in Liquoid’s body. He didn’t pay attention to the voice that taunted Commander Serph. Commander Serph looked toward the person who was commanding Liquoid to attack him with a face of anger. Soon that face was turning blue from the lack of oxygen to his lung. Then Commander Serph finally gave up and Jason saw bubbles erupt from his mouth, along with his life. He thrashed about in Liquoid’s body for another moment and then gave in. Jason stopped the footage after that. He couldn’t bare to watch his father’s death any longer.

Jason: “Father… Nooooooo!” Jason slammed both of his closed fists on the counter next to the mouse. He gritted his teeth and squeezed his eye lids shut as tears slowly leaked out. His eye glasses slightly slid off but hung onto his ears. It was hard to believe what he had just witness on the video and he hoped against all hope that it was a hoax. After grieving for a few minutes he whipped his tears and collected his thoughts. He had to find another Team Chaos Admin and locate his father and the Boss.

Gwen was feeling hot from the intense heat from Volcanoid’s body being given off. She began sweating under her Team Chaos uniform. AJ’s shiny Kingler named RustBucket approached the magma Pokémon but was scorched across its huge claw and main body. AJ stared down at his PRi screen showing RustBucket’s HP bar slowly depleting due to the Burn it received from the earlier attack. Xero’s signature 5th generation Pokémon Espedow was standing next to Volcanoid with its glowing red eyes set on Vik.

Chatot: “Let’s leave. Chatot doesn’t like the heat.” The parrot Pokémon was perched on Krystal’s shoulder as she scrambled through her lap top to find a way to stop the two 5th Generation Pokémon she and her friends were facing. Then Gwen’s PRi beeped to indicate another message being received. Meanwhile AJ decided to attack again.

AJ: “RustBucket, Crab Hammer!”
Espedow (telepathically): Oh no you don’t! Espedow attacked with an invisible energy that seemed to make RustBucket stretch out and distorted. AJ recognized the attack as Extrasensory.
AJ: “Vik, some help here.” Vik was searching though his game.
Vik: “Almost done, just got to save a truck load of data.” Volcanoid roared a second time. Then it formed stone shards around its body. A Stone Edge attack was on its way.

AJ: “Vik!”
Vik: “Still saving.” The Stone Edge attack shot straight forward and aimed at RustBucket.
AJ: “Use Protect!” RustBucket quickly formed a green barrier around it and the Stone Edge attack was blocked. AJ looked at his PRi screen once again. RustBucket’s HP was now in the red zone. Meanwhile Gwen tapped Chase on his shoulder as he watched the battle take place. He looked at her and wondered what she wanted.

Gwen: “Let’s go!”
Chase: “Go where?”
Gwen: “Find the Team Chaos Boss. I think he’s in trouble and Commander Serph is…” After reading Jason’s message Gwen found it hard to accept his fate and what could possibly happen to the rest of them.
Lucas: “I’m staying with AJ!”

AJ: “Lucas, go with her. It’s getting too dangerous here.”
Lucas: “That’s not stopped me before.”
AJ: “Just go, and Vik are you done yet.” Vik finally held out his PRi.
Vik: “Just finished saving. Now Ludicolo, let’s go!” There was a flash of light and Vik’s Ludicolo appeared while appearing to be dancing.
AJ: “About time.”
Gwen: “Come one Chase and Lucas. I could use your help since I can’t get a hold of Shade.” Lucas looked nervously at Volcanoid and Espedow, then he looked at Chase who just looked back with determination in his eyes. Then he finally looked over to his older brother and Vik.

AJ: “Go Lucas.”
Vik: “Take off Chase. We can handle these clowns.” Chase grabbed Lucas’ hand and slightly tugged him.
Chase: “OK.”
Gwen: “This way.” Gwen signaled them to follow her back the way they came.
Espedow: Get back here. Espedow began charging a Dark Pulse attack in its right hand but then Chatot flew off Krystal’s shoulder. It attacked by continuously smashing its beak into Espedow’s head. When Chatot was done it began flying back to Krystal who was also following Gwen.
Chatot: “Pluck off, loser.”

Espedow: Why you annoying bird! I should’ve finished you off with Giratina Origin Form when I had-
Chatot: “Rawk! The Horror!” Suddenly Chatot appeared frightened and then flew off at amazing speed and right back on Krystal’s shoulder. After landing on her shoulder it had its wings holding its head, eyes closed, and its tail shaking very rapidly.
Espedow: The… chance… AJ and Vik looked on with puzzled expressions wonder what the heck got into Chatot’s mind. Even Vik’s Ludicolo had stopped moving from the awkwardness that had just occurred.
Vik: “Dude, what was that all about?” Volcainoid roared again, reminding the two trainers that there was still a battle going on.

AJ: “Rustbucket, use X-Scissor on Espedow!”
Vik: “Ludicolo, Hydro Pump attack on Volcanoid!” Rustbucket's two claws glowed with a light green aura while Ludicolo launched a high pressured stream of water at Volcanoid. Volcanoid then gave off even more intense heat and flames from its body and performed a Heat Wave attack. Espedow let the X-scissor attack hit it. When the Heat Wave and Hydro Pump attacks collided steam exploded everywhere, and made it difficult to see the battle.

Gwen guided her group to the Life Force Chamber where Volcanoid had supposedly originated from. She and Jason sent messages back and forth and hypothesized that someone brought the Pokémon to life using the super computer onboard the space station in the lab. Gwen was grateful that there was more then one entrance to the biggest laboratory in orbit. Chase looked back at Krystal and Chatot, who was still shaking in fear.
Chase: “What’s with your interpreter, Krystal?” Krystal looked over to Chase and made a few signs, but Chatot wasn’t doing its job. Then she tapped her Chatot on its head and it squawked.

Chatot: “What? what is it?” Krystal began signing a few things in front of Chatot’s face. She was obviously annoyed with it.
Gwen: “Last thing I know is that Espedow said Giratina Origin Form and-“
Chatot: “Rawk! Don’t say that!” Gwen was a little puzzled by Chatot’s reaction, but she decided to ignore it as they all approached another corridor and directed the group down the new hallway.
Lucas: “Say what? Giratina Origin Form?”
Chatot: “Rawk! Knock it off!” Chatot was holding its head with its wings and shut its eyes again. Lucas suddenly became very amused.

Lucas: “Oh this is so much fun. Giratina Origin Form! Giratina Origin Form! Giratina Origin Form!”
Chatot: “Ra-awk! Nightmares!” Even Chase couldn’t help but chuckle at Lucas taunting Chatot.
Chase: “Apparently Krystal’s Chatot had developed some sort of Giratina-phobia.”
Lucas: “Finally I can get my revenge on you Chatot!” Lucas had a huge smile on his face. It seemed to him that Chatot had annoyed him too much in the past 24 hours. Now he finally got to the return the favor.

Gwen: “Here we are.” Gwen came to a single steel door with a small square glass window looking to the gigantic laboratory. It was the same laboratory that the Boss had Giratina tested in earlier. She pressed her hand on the scanner next to the door and waited as a green flash read her hand print and authorized her to enter. The door swung opened automatically and they entered high above the ground floor of the laboratory. They stood on a balcony with stairs circling the huge round room all the way to the bottom. They were at least four stories above the ground.
Gwen: “Down there!” Gwen pointed at a small slab of dried magma with a man with curly grey hair encased in it against the wall. Krystal tapped Chatot and signaled it to fly down. Then Chatot hovered in mid air.

Chatot: “Chatot use Tailwind!” Chatot began flapping its wings and an air current appeared.
Gwen: “It’d be faster if we hovered down then running down all these stairs. Chase and Lucas nodded and where the first to jump over the hand rail and slowly floated toward the ground with a gently landing. Gwen and Krystal did the same with Chatot following its trainer. When Krystal landed, she tapped a command on her PRi. Chatot’s wings glowed white and it sliced the concrete trapping the Team Chaos Boss. It had to slice the dried magma with Steel Wing three times before the Boss came free. Gwen then ran to his side and helped him get back on his feet.

Gwen: “Boss! Boss please speak to me.” He slowly opened his eyes. In his hand he managed to hang onto a cigar the entire time he was unconscious, but it was put out from lack of oxygen.
TC Boss: “He’s back.” He spoke very quietly. It was obvious that he was tired out from the attack. At that moment the main entrance to the Life Force Chamber had opened and Jason entered.
Gwen: “Who Boss?”
TC Boss: “What happened to Commander Serph?”
Jason: “He was murdered!”
Chase & Gwen: “What?!”

Jason: “You heard me. That water Pokémon trapped him in his body and drowned him.”
TC Boss: “Oh no. I feared this. It’s all about vengeance.”
Jason: “Boss, don’t tell me. Is what my father said about the experiment true?”
Chase: “What experiment?”
TC Boss: “I made a terrible mistake letting Xero join Team Chaos.”
Chase & Lucas: “Xero?” The two of them looked at each other with disbelief.
Lucas: “Xero is dead! Vik’s Scizor killed him!”

TC Boss: “Yes, he is but…” The Boss paused for a moment searching for the right words to say. Suddenly Chase began feeling nervous.
Chase: “Is there something we should know about.”
Jason: “There’s a secrete between me, my father, Xero, and the Boss you now see before you.”
TC Boss: “No need to be formal Jason. Our ‘guests of honor’ may refer to me as Blade.”
Lucas: “Blade? What kind of name is that?”
Chatot: “What kind of name is Bogus?” Lucas grunted with annoyance and then turned to Chatot and yelled at it.

Lucas: “Giratina Origin Form!” Chatot panicked and then flew off into a corner of the laboratory. Krystal sighed and decided to ignore it this time. With everyone silent for a moment they could hear the low hum of the machinary that kept the space station in orbit.
Blade: “Well children, did you ever wonder how we created the technology to bring Pokemon to life.”
Chase: “Once or twice.”
Lucas: “I’d love to know. How’d you guys do it?”
Blade: “Well, we drained the life force of a human and then use that energy to digitize Pokemon from the games. In other words and human gave their live and was revived as a Pokemon.” Chase and Lucas weren’t believed what they were hearing.
Chase: “Wait, so what does this have to do with Xero?”

Meanwhile, the steam from the collision of Heat Wave and Hydro Pump began to clear up. The first thing AJ and Vik saw were a fainted shiny Kingler and a happy go lucky Ludicolo dancing about. Volcanoid and Espedow were nowhere in sight.
AJ: “RustBucket, return!” The red retractor beam shot out from the PRi and AJ’s Kingler returned to his Pearl game.

Vik: “Dude, do you think we won?” The steam was still thick further down the hallway. They wondered if their opponents had fled the scene. Then suddenly Espedow leapt out of the steam cloud. It then used Teleport to disappear, but it too AJ and Vik with it. The two of them reappeared in the Life Force Chamber where Gwen and the others were talking with Blade, but they reappeared high above ground and found themselves falling. Vik grabbed onto his Ludicolo had had his Pokémon break the fall. AJ landed on top of Vik. Chase and Lucas were surprise to reunite with their friends so soon.
Chase: “Nice entry guys. I give that an 8.1.” Vik shoved AJ off of him.

Vik: “Believe me, it was no picnic.” He got off of his Ludicolo which seemed to be have been knocked out from the fall and having two teenagers land on top of it. Vik then recalled it back into his Diamond game.
Lucas: “Where’s Espedow and Volcanoid?”
AJ: “They just… disappeared.” Suddenly there was the sound of one person clapping. It was coming from the laboratory’s main entrance. Everyone looked and there he was. Top of the hair dyed silver with the lower half and sides colored brown. A matching brown cloak that covered everything except the Convers tennis shoes he was wearing.

Xero: “Impressive battle boys! You all sure know your Pokemon!” Everyone felt a sense of dread. Xero was alive after all!
Gwen: “No! This can’t be! You’re dead!” Xero chuckled evilly and then looked straight at Vik.
Blade: “It’s true Gwen. That’s Xero alright.” He finally had Gwen let go of him and stood on his own two feet, but he seemed to have lost a lot of strength. When Gwen let him go he had to regain his balance and dropped his cigar.
Xero: “Mucho Gracias for the fatal injury. It provided the perfect cover for me to disappear and make my way to this space station. Now I can put the final phase of my plan into action. The four of you have been a greater help to me then I could ever hope for. My trip back in time was more then worth it.”

Vik: “How on earth did your wounds heal from that attack? I saw bits of your flesh tear out from when Scizor hit you.” Then AJ gasped and remembered Gardevoir using Healing Wish to restore his broken arm to normal.
AJ: “He must have used a Pokemon to heal him. Well doesn’t matter, this time I’ll get you good!” AJ ran toward Xero and then launched a punch right at Xero’s face. Xero just stood there and let AJ’s fist press against his left cheek. Then to AJ’s surprise, his fist litterally pressed agasint his face and left an imprint of his fingers and knuckles. He freaked out and took a couple steps back. Xero had an odd shaped crater in his cheek.
Chase: “Ew, what’s with this guy?” AJ looked at his fist he used to punch Xero with. It was the first time anyone had physical contact with Xero.

AJ: “His – His face. It felt like punch silly putty. Your skin is so cold. I wonder if you… Are you even human?” Xero laughed with much amusement.
Balde: “He’s no ordinary being.” Gwen looked at the Team Chaos Boss with uncertainty. She wondered how and why he kept a dark secrete for so long. Jason on the other hand didn’t seem surprised.
Xero: “Well the secrete’s out. I might as well show you then tell you.” He pointed at AJ, and the imprint that was on his left cheek still disturbed our heroes. “You are absolutly right AJ! I’m NOT human! I’m really…” Xero’s entire body, along with the cloak he was wearing began glowing.

Vik: “What the heck is going on?” Vik’s Ludicolo had stopped dancing once again as Xero transformed infront of them. From the shape of a human to the shape of a blob, he stopped glowing and had turned into a pink blob with dots for eyes and a mouth that could’ve been drawn with a pencil.
Xero: “…Ditto!” Everyone except Jason and Blade couldn't believe what they had just witnesed, and were too shocked to speak. This whole time they were all being manipulated by a Pokemon!
AJ: “But… but how?”

Christmas Greeting Gone Wrong

Well I lost my flash drive with the new chapters on it (stupid me, stupid me, stupid me) so in the mean time I came up with this season's greeting Pokemon AR style.
~Cyber~

Chase is holding a video camera taping Krystal, her Chatot, and Lucas standing in front of an Abamasnow decorated with ornaments all over it.
Lucas: "Hi Pokegym readers! we got a little caught up with the Holidays and have to delay the next chapter. So we decided to update this thread with this neat Holiday greeting instead." Krystal then takes a green cord and plugs it in. Abamasnow then has Christmas lights lit all over it. Abamasnow then activates it's Snow Warning Ability and it starts to snow very heavily.
Chase: "Hey that looks neat."
Lucas: "Chase, be quiet."
Chase: "Oh yeah, still rolling." Krystal then looks toward the viewing audience and signs "Merry christmas."
Chatot: "Krystal, Chatot, and Bogus wish everyone Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all the other Holidays out there." Lucas grunts at sound of his mispronounced name.

Lucas: "Get my name right, it's Lucas!"
Chatot: "Don't interupt Chatot, Bogus."
Lucas: "Stop saying my name wrong or you're be on the Naughty list. Heck, you're even Naughty Nature."
Chatot: "Chatot not Naughty! Chatot is Awesome and Bogus can wake up with no presents." Lucas gets angry and grabs Chatot by the neck. Snow piled up on Chatot's back falls to the ground. Abamasnow in the background tips over the chord and smashes the ornaments it's wearing. Chatot begins to choke from Lucas' grip.
Lucas: "Then you annoying bird brain can GO TO H-" Chase cuts the transmission off.

Chase: "Sorry about that folks. Happily Holidays!"

Chapter 22

I had to retype the entire thing from scratch, and just fixed a couple things here and there. I really wanted to post the one I had on my flash drive that I had lost becuase I know I wouldn't remember every single thing I had in the original chapter 22. Oh well, I'm still very pleased with how this turned out and I hope everyone reading this will enjoy it too.

Chapter 22: Origin of Evil

Everyone in the Life Force Chamber Laboratory was in shock at what they had just found out. The entire time, Xero, their enemy, was actually a Ditto! Chase couldn’t believe he and his friends had been set up by the pink blob sitting in front of them with a sister grin.
Chase: “How the heck can a Ditto Transform into a person?”
Jason: “Ditto can transform into whatever it sees. However, how it Transform into Xero I don’t really know.” Blade, the Team Chaos Boss stepped forward.
Blade: “I can explain. Xero was the very first person to sacrifice his body to make the very first Pokémon Realization technology.” He took a moment to pause, take out another cigar he had in a leather case he kept in his back pocket, and lit it. The smoke curled upward from his mouth as he spoke a second time. Meanwhile the Ditto in the room glowed again and took the form of Xero.
Xero: “That’s right. Technically I’m already dead but my conscious lives through the technology behind cartridge balls and PRi’s.”

Chase: “I still don’t understand?”
Jason: “Why did you think we call this room the ‘Life Force Chamber?’ Any guesses? Well the secret behind digitizing Pokémon from the games is human life force energy.” Chase and his friends were shocked again.
Vik: “You mean… the Pokémon are brought to life from people like us? I still don’t get it.”
Blade: “I’ll make it simple as possible. Tell me young Chase, Vik, AJ, Lucas, do any of you time travelers understand what the human body is made out of.”
Lucas: “Skin, heart, lungs –“
Jason: “No. Not quite.”
AJ: “Cells.”
Blade: “Yes, but what are cells made from?”
Chase: “We’re still studying that in biology.”

Blade: “Energy. Every human, every animal, every plant are made out of energy.” As the Team Chaos Boss spoke, he moved his hands around making shapes of plants and animals to emphasize his points.
AJ: “I’m confused.”
Blade: “Take a look at your hand for instance. Look under a proper microscope and you’ll not only see your skin cells, but you’ll see the energy vibrating within them. Everyone in this room, including myself and Xero, are not just physical beings. We are all magnets and we attract all sorts of energy within us. Energy created everything; from our solar system to the tiniest dew drop.”
Chase: “Are you Atheist?” Blade seemed to take offense to at Chase’s comment. He pointed at him with smoke trailing from the cigar in his hand.
Blade: “Do not question my faith in forces beyond our universe!” Chase let out a soft cough. He couldn’t tell if it was Blade’s attitude or the cigar smoke that sickened him.
Jason: “After a few years of research we found a way to convert a human’s physical body into the kind of energy we needed to bring Pokémon to life in the real world.”
Xero: “And I was the first human to be transformed into a Pokémon. You see, I was adopted by Blade here from an orphanage when I was nine.”
Vik: “Why does that matter?”
Xero: “It matters…”

Eight Years Ago

Xero (narrating): “The day my life changed is one I’ll never forget. Blade was with the mistress of the orphanage looking for a ‘child prodigy’ and I was picked.” Xero remember back to when he was nine years old. Back then he was a thin child who was teased and picked on, calling him names like “Zero.” He remembered sitting in a corned reading a book called The Secret with a red wax stamp of the S in the word Secret on the cover. Blade walked up to him and patted him on the head.
Blade: “What’s your name sport?”
Young Xero: “The lady here says my name is Jared, but all the other kids here call me Zero.” Blade seemed a little intrigued.

Blade: “Why is that?”
Young Xero: “Because I’m nothing. No one plays with me. All I do is read books. I’m no good at sports, no good at math, no good at anything the other kids are good at.”
Blade: “But I see you are a good reader…” Blade took the book and showed the cover back at Young Xero. “…And you seem interested in something I want to harness. Tell me young Jared, would you like to have a new home?”
Young Xero: “What kind of a home?” Blade sat down next to Young Xero, explaining how he wanted a buddy but couldn’t have a kid because of his wife leaving him. Then he went on to talk about a game he was interested in, Pokémon.

Blade: “I want to bring back Pokémon like never before, and you can be good at something that none of these other kids here will never be good at.” Blade sat with Young Xero for half an hour talking about his big Pokémon project.
Xero (narrating): “I’ll never forget how excited I became about the idea of being the first to fly high on a dragon’s back, lighting fires from a lizard’s tail, or hypnotizing people using a ghost. Blade promised me a lot that day, and like the foolish child I was I believed him. I was adopted and taken to his house the next week. For the next year I spent playing all the Pokémon games from Red and Blue to Platinum. I was fond of the creatures and I could imagine myself as the trainers.

Present day

Blade: “A year after taking Xero in I reunited with my friend Hunter and his son Jason. A few years after that, we began forming Team Chaos. At first we didn’t care who joined. Those who proved useless to the Team offered up their life force instead to bring me closer to my goals.”
Xero: “They didn’t offer their life force Blade. You took it from them, just like you did with me.”
Blade: “Not necessarily true Xero. I saved your life.”
Xero: “Not the way I see it.”
Chase: “I still don’t understand this one hundred percent.”
AJ: “Yeah. Explain what you meant by ‘taking away their life force energy.’”

Blade: “Let me start by asking this; who do you each think you are? Chase? AJ? Lucas? Vik? Those maybe your names but that’s not who you are. The four of you, along with my valued Team Chaos members, and myself are souls. Souls dwelling inside these physical bodies. Xero here is living proof that death is not the end of the soul’s journey!” Blade’s ranting made Chase and his friends think of him more of a madman then a calm boss.
Xero: “I maybe a soul but thanks to you Blade, I can’t have a proper life. I haven’t aged in the past 3 years you’ve placed me in this Pokemon’s body. Plus despite having my old face, I still don’t have my complete human body when I transform.”
Gwen: “What? What do you mean? Is that cloak you’re wearing something you generate when you Tranform Xero?” Xero pulled up a sleeve and revealed the rest of his arm from his wrist to his nick was still pink and blobby like the original Ditto’s body.

Xero: “A Ditto can only copy what it sees. Since I saw myself in clothes I generated the cloak but the body underneath is incomplete. In order for me to fully regain a human body I must see without clothes.”
Chase: “Ok… kinda creepy. Oh!” Chase suddenly recalled his battle with Espedow and his Manectric. Manectric had used Discharge to Paralyzed Espedow and then Espedow glowed pink for a moment and regained Limber ability. Chase then pointed at Xero.
Chase: “You’re not just a Ditto! You’re also that dark Pokémon Espedow, aren’t you?”
Gwen: “Huh? Chase how do you know?” Suddenly Chase began sweating.

Chase: “Well, I’ve noticed every time Espedow appeared Xero was nowhere in sight. Also Expedow had used Limber ability, which is Ditto’s ability, when my Manectric paralyzed it.”
AJ: “That makes sense. Lucas was Espedow’s first target, probably because Xero had kidnapped Kirlia at the time.” Xero let out one maniacal laugh.
Xero: “You idiots finally get it! Yes, I stole file X-G5 and programmed Espedow’s data into my memory so not only could I be my human self or any Pokémon, I could also be one of two Pokémon Gamefreak gave the ability to control the minds of other Pokémon in the form of an attack.”
Vik: “Who’s the other Pokémon?”
Xero: “Mewtwo, but Espedow was an easier Pokémon to absorb and it’s a dark type, my kind of Pokémon.”

Gwen: “And that Giratina that saved us at the base, that was you as well.”
Xero: “Yes sweetheart. I did save your sorry butts.”
Gwen: “Stop calling me ‘sweetheart’ you -” Chatot flew in cut Gwen off.
Chatot: “One mean jerk. And not just any jerk, a jerk that -”
Xero: “Giraina Origin Form!” Chatot once again panicked and flew on top of Krystal’s head.
Chatot: “Rawk! The Horror!” Krystal covered her eyes with one hand and shook her head in disappointment.
Lucas: “It’s official. Chatot’s pathetic.”
Xero: “Moving on with my story, I’m a Ditto because I suffered an accident.”

Xero (narrating): “My accident occurred one week before Blade, Commander Serph, and Jason were prepared to launch the Pokemon Digitizing technology for the first time. I was helping Jason with a shipment that came in to our original Team Chaos Headquarters. We were receiving one shipment of super computer and another shipment of food or our cafeteria. The truck that had our food supplies however, contained something deadly.”
Xero, or as he was known back then as Jared, opened the back door of a 16 wheeler truck with crates of groceries and preserved food. The refrigeration unit near the trucks cabin buzzed loudly and kept the inside of the shipping container cool. Whenever Xero exhaled inside the truck he could see the vapor coming out of his mouth.
Jason: “Just slide the boxes one by one. We’ll get the grunts with hand carts to move them into our cafeteria.”

Jared used a pallet jack to carry three crates. He was about to move the forth which contained bananas from South America. Then he saw something crawl out of the corner of his eye. He didn’t move for a whole minute.
Jason: “Jared, what’s taking you?” Goose pumps began appearing all over his arms. Something was in the shipping crate, and there was a small hole on one side.
Jared: “Hang on, I just needed a rest. These things are heavy and I’m no weight lifter.” Jared then took another ten seconds to relax himself and then he lifted the crate and placed it on the pallet jack. Something moved again, and it moved quickly!
Jared: “Uh, Jason?”
Jason: “What?” Jason was waiting with a Team Chaos Grunt who had a hand cart, waiting for the next crate.
Jared (scared): “Something’s in here.” Jared couldn’t help but keep the panic out of his voice. He could sense something in the crate moving, and waiting. It was pretty dim inside the truck but there was enough light to make out a creature with eight legs. A spider, but not just any spider.

Jason: “Jared, don’t move! That’s a Brazilian Wandering Spider, one of the most venomous spiders in the world!” Jason turned to the grunt. “Forget the stupid crate. Alert my father and get help immediately.” The grunt nodded and ran off. Jason then turned his attention to Jared and the spider. The spider was extremely intimidating. It was covered in black hairs and had red fangs. The multiple eyes all staring down at Jared, who’s heart rate had increased dramatically. Then Jared made his mistake.
Jason: “Jared don’t!” Jared reached for his DSi and decided to squish the spider with it. The spider dodged the attack and then crawled onto Jared’s arm, and bit him. Jared gripped his bitten arm and screamed in agony. He instantly felt the neurotoxin drain the feeling from his arm. Thirthy seconds later he had trouble breathing. Jared could feel burning pain all over his body and his short breaths made the experience worse.
Blade: “Jason, move out of the way!” Blade and Commander Serph appeared Commander Serph saw the spider crawling its way onto the loading deck and out of the truck. He took a crowbar and swiftly swung it downward so that it squished the deadly spider. Then Blade proceeded to rescue Jared. Jared was bleeding from where the spider bit him, his face had turned red, his neck had swollen, and soon he would die. Blade picked up his adopted teenaged son and carried him out of the truck.
Blade: “Without an anti-venom he’s done for. There’s only one choice left. Let’s take him to the life force chamber.”

Xero (narrating): “I don’t remember much after being taking out of the shipping truck. All I know is that I felt intense pain for hours and each breath was like breathing through a straw as thin as stirring stick with gum clogging up the end. I do know that I was hooked up to sophisticated biofeedback equipment and my head was hooked to a machine that monitored my brain activity. The next thing I remember was waking up from a flash of light with Jason and Commander Serph looking down at me.”
Jason: “We’ve done it father. We finally took a Pokémon from the video games and made it come to life.”
Commander Serph: “Yes, thanks to your friend Jared. Even in death he had proved useful to us.”
Xero (narrating): “Here’s what they didn’t know. I still had all my memories; from staying at the Orphanage to living with Blade and helping to set up Team Chaos. To their surprise, I transformed into my human self, but I generate clothes as well. The clothes however, were just as fake as the everything else about my transformation.”
Jason: “Jared? Is that you?”
Xero (narrating): “I thought long and hard for that moment. Then I finally replied, ‘yeah, but from now on, I think I’ll refer to myself as XERO, but I’ll spell it with an ‘X’ instead of ‘Z’ to differentiate myself from my past to my present.’ From that day forth I was never the same.”

Present Day

Xero: “So there, that’s how I died. As for becoming a Pokémon, my life force energy was absorbed and then was used to digitize the first Pokémon.” Chase and his friends found it hard to believe.
Chase: “So what you’re saying is, HUMANS are how the PRi’s are powered.”
Blade: “In a way. You see, we take a human, extract their life force energy, and then use that same energy to power the Cartridge Balls and PRi’s. How else could the Pokémon have emotions?” Chase, Vik, and AJ were all sickened by what they found out.
AJ: “You’re team kills people just to bring Pokémon to life?”
Blade: “We don’t just kill anyone. We look around, find a homeless person, a teenager wishing to runaway, whoever thinks they have no purpose in life. Then we give them a purpose, we promise to end their misery in a way that will benefit the world. It’s not like we’re kidnapping the president’s children and turning them into Pokémon.”

Vik: “You dudes are sick and twisted!”
Chase: “I second that! You have no right to decide who lives and who dies!”
AJ: “I though kidnapping me and brainwashing me into believing I was Team Chaos Admin was low, but draining people’s life forces is just, I can’t even find the words to describe it!” Chase and his friends now knew what they must do, and they began to understand why Xero wanted Team Chaos destroyed in the first place.
Xero: “Glad to know you see things my way, however I see two solutions to the problems at hand.”
Gwen: “Forget it Xero, I’d rather quit Team Chaos then continue this madness.”
Xero: “Krystal, thanks for the flash drive.” Krystal gasped and remember Espedow and Dusknoir stealing her flash drive. Then Xero presented it to her from up his sleeve. “You can have it back but on one condition.” Krystal signed a few words at Xero while expressing her anger.

Chatot: “Rawk! Krystal says flash drive is hers and Xero has no right to have it. Give it back or else!”
Xero: “I’ll absorb the data on this flash drive and become the most powerful Pokémon of all time, or someone here must give up their life force energy and let me have their body.”
Chase: “What?”
Xero: “You see it’s nice being a Ditto, but I’d rather be human again and command my own Pokémon. I can never age and my skln always feels, as AJ as said, like silly putty. So I want to be human again and live the normal live I never had. Maybe I’ll take Lucas’ body. Oh yes, I can have a second childhood, and kill two birds with one stone. Since I know Gwen is a descendant of you Lucas, she’ll never exist. Hahaha.”

Lucas: “Over my dead body!” Xero’s right hand began to glow with an orange ball forming in front of it.
Xero: “That can be arranged. Imma firharin a Hyper Beam! Rah!” Much to everyone’s shock, he did shoot a Hyper Beam from his hand at it was aimed at Lucas.
Lucas: “WHAT THE H-”
AJ: “Get down!” AJ jumped and pushed Lucas out the way and they both slid across the floor. The Hyper Beam exploded as it hit the wall and Xero was laughing maniacally once again. The madness would just never stop.

Chapter 23

Chatot: “It’s sweet ‘n sour poffin time! Sweet ‘n sour Poffin Time! Sweet ‘n sour Poffin Time! Where’s it at? Where’s it at? Where’s it at? Where’s it at? Feed me now! Feed me now! Feed me now! Gimme sweet ‘n sour poffin, sweet ‘n sour poffin, sweet ‘n sour poffin with a snack attack! Gimme sweet ‘n sour poffin, sweet ‘n sour poffin, sweet ‘n sour poffin with a snack attack! Whoo!” Chatot continues dancing and singing.
Chase: “Uh… what the heck’s wrong with Chatot?”

Blade: “Hey, who drank the last of my Budweiser?” Chatot burps, then Jason walks over to the bird and picks it up.
Jason: “Krystal, Chatot is cross eyed.” Krystal sighs.
Chatot: “Sweet ‘n sour pof-fin. Sweet ‘n sour pof-fin.”
Chase: “All in favor of doing the next chapter without Chatot?”
Everyone (including Chatot): “I!” Krystal takes her PRi and recalls it.
AJ: “OK, let’s take our positions and give Pokegym another show.”

Chapter 23: Last Ditch Effort

The Hyper Beam Xero had fired hit the steel wall behind AJ and Lucas, who were lying on their stomachs on the ground. An explosion was heard and Xero was laughing maniacally. AJ and Lucas got up, and then Lucas remembered something. Gallade tried to use Psycho Cut on Xero before. Gallade knew Xero’s true identity!
Lucas (thinking): So that’s why Gallade wanted to cut Xero, and why Xero wanted to turn off Synchronize. Well that’s it. Lucas got up and brushed the few hair strands that hung over his eyes with his hand. Then he reached for his PRi.
AJ: “What are you doing Lucas?”

Lucas: “Xero’s a Ditto, so that means we can battle him. Gallade, go for it!” Lucas’ PRi flashed and Gallade emerged. It’s blade arms shined in the light.
Xero: “So you want to play games with me, huh?” Xero’s entire body glowed. He was using Transform and then he took the shape and form of a Gallade. Lucas’ Gallade stared right at its foe with a fierce look of determination. Xero stared right back.
Xero: “You have the first move.”
Chase: “How is he still talking?”

Xero: “I kept my human vocal chords so I can still talk. So bring it on Gallade. I know you’ve been wanting to hit me for days.”
Gallade: “Gallade Gal! Gal Gallade lade!” Gallade’s left arm glowed blue and then it swung it, sending a Psycho Cut attack right at Xero. Xero then used Teleport and then appeared right next to Gallade.
Xero: “Pathetic!” As a Gallade, Xero made both of its arms glow a dark purple, then slashed Lucas’ Gallade four times.
Blade: “That’s a Night Slash attack!”

Lucas: “But my Gallade doesn’t know Night Slash.” Lucas stared at the touch screen of his PRi, whish listed the attacks, Leaf Blade, Psycho Cut, Disable, and Teleport. Xero finished executing the forth slash and then let out another evil laugh.
Xero: “You so called ‘heroes’ are so pathetic! I’ve absorbed the data of every Pokémon ever created by Gamefreak. So I also have access to every attack they can learn.”

Vik: “Quit cheating and play fair! A Ditto should only use the same attacks its opponent knows.”
Xero: “Do you seriously think I care?” Xero asked this while one arm sparked with electricity. It was Thunder Punch and he was about to hit Gallade with it!
Lucas: “Use disable now!” Lucas’ Gallade stared at Xero and then he suddenly stopped moving. Xero grunted and struggle to break free of the invisible grip on him.

Blade: “Well done, now you’re finished Xero. Sceptile, Realize!” The boss of Team Chaos pulled out a PRi, and then a Sceptile appeared. The intimidating reptilian eyes locked onto Xero, who had his backed turned to it as he was focusing on Lucas and Gallade. Blade took one last puff of smoke from his cigar before issuing an attack command.
Blade: “Use Leaf Blade, now!” Sceptile leapt into the air with such grace. Blade had obviously fed it many poffins since its scales were so shiny and radiant. The leaves on both of its arms extended and began glowing bright green. Sceptile dove downward and prepared to strike.
Xero: “Blade, don’t.” Xero heard the attack command and knew what was coming. Blade discarded his cigar put it out with his boot.

Blade: “You brought this on yourself Xero. Now strike!” Sceptile’s Leaf Blade slashed downward and sliced Xero multiple times in the head, chest, and legs. Then the glowing green blades vanished and Xero fell to his knees. He breathed heavily.
Xero: “Why Blade? You saved my life. You’ve adopted me as your son.”
Blade: “Not anymore. You threatened our Team. You wish to destroy everything I’ve worked hard for. You even destroyed my base down on Earth and murdered our good friend Hunter. Now Sceptile, finish him off. Night Slash!”

Lucas: “Gallade, Psycho Cut!” Both Sceptile and Gallade moved in with their attacks. Then Xero’s body began to glow again.
Xero: “Playtime’s over!” He transformed again, this time into Espedow. It was the first time anyone ever saw Xero actually become the shadow Pokémon. Espedow immediately had his eyes glow bright red and looked right at Sceptile. Sceptile stopped in its tracks and then struggled to fight off Espedow, but it was no use. Sceptile’s eyes began glowing red just like Espedow’s. It leapt into the air and attacked Lucas’ Gallade instead.

Xero: “Ha ha, child’s play. You’ll never defeat me.” Sceptile used the blades on its arms to slash Gallade several times. Gallade yelled in pain and collapsed. Lucas saw Gallade’s entire HP drop to zero on his PRi screen.
Lucas: “Gallade return!” Lucas recalled his fateful Pokémon back into his PRi. Chase and Vik then stepped up.
Chase: “Ready to do this?”
Vik: “Let’s bring him down. Tyranitar, go!”

Chase: “Kingdra, let’s get ‘em!” Since they were in outer space, and the gravity was less intense as it was on Earth, Chase’s Kingdra had no problem hovering above the ground. Vik’s Tyranitar stared down at Espedow. Blade then pulled out a cartridge ball that had a Pokemon LeafGreen game linked to it.
Blade: “Xero, your time is up. Return.” The red retractor beam fired from the cartridge ball, but Xero saw it coming. As an Espedow, he Teleported away and appeared next to the Blade while charging a Dark Pulse attack in his two fingered hands.
Xero: “You really think I’m going back into that prison?” He fired the Dark Pulse and skillfully aimed it only at the Cartridge Ball in Blade’s hand. The Cartridge Ball shattered into fragments but the LeafGreen game was kept intact.

Gwen: “Oh no, that was the best chance we had of stopping Xero.” Xero then focused on Sceptile. Sceptile’s arm blades glowed with a dark aura and then a Night Slash attack was aimed at Chase’s Kingdra.
Chase: “Hydro Pump!” Kingdra squirted a massive jet stream of water from its mouth, but the pressure forced Kingdra to float backwards and toward Chase. Chase braced himself and held out his hands to intercept Kingdra and stop it from flying into him. Chase felt Kingdra’s scales vibrate on its body as it continued to pump out water.

Vik: “Tyranitar, Stone Edge!” Two energy rings appeared around Tyranitar and stone shards began to materialize within them. Then Tyranitar trusted its right arm forward and all the stone shards flew toward Xero, who was still transformed in Espedow’s body.
Xero: “Sceptile, use Detect to intercept the attack.” The unthinkable occurred. Blade’s Sceptile moved with such speed that it seemed to literally appear out of nowhere and absorbed the Stone Edge attack. As for Hydro Pump, it actually managed to hit Xero, but midway though receiving the attack he Teleported out of the stream of water and reappeared a couple feet to the left.
Vik: “But Detect protects the Pokémon.” Espedow’s body glowed and Xero resumed his human form once again. His silver died hair glistened as he up on a sinister face.

Xero: “This is the real world remember? Ever tried experimenting with what attacks actually do? Detect makes them sense where the attack is coming then the Pokémon move fast to dodge attacks, but in this case I decided to make Sceptile sense the attack and go straight to it instead. Protect creates barriers, so that would completely neutralize the attack.” Xero then presented a flash drive again. The Japanese Kanji written with black sharpie ink was all the proof everyone needed to know it was Krystal’s.
Gwen: “Give it back, Xero.”
Xero: “Or what?”

Blade: “Or this!” A researcher had appeared in the Life Force Chamber with a cart carrying several cartridge balls. Blade held another one with the LeafGreen game inserted in there.
Xero: “You really think calling me back into that game cartridge will stop me.”
Blade: “So long as I don’t have to worry about you trying to rampaging within my head quarters, it’s worth a shot.” The Boss of Team Chaos’ voice seemed to have gotten raspier. He had a look or both determination but also sadness on his face. He knew he had to defeat his adopted son.

Xero: “Do you even know what I am going to do with this flash drive Blade? I bet Krystal knows.” Xero looked over to Krystal who was scrambling with her PRi, obviously preparing to release a Pokémon. Xero’s other hand glowed dark purple and he fired a Dark Pulse attack, knocking the device out of her hands. Krystal mouthed something at Xero.
Gwen: “Xero, don’t do it.”
Xero (mocking): “‘Xero don’t do it.’ (normal) Please Gwen, I’m about to make Blade’s dream come true. Get ready to watch as I summon the ultimate legendary Pokémon, Arceus.” AJ and Lucas gasped as they remembered what Xero had told them earlier. He said that Team Chaos wanted to create an Arceus, but was it really Xero’s plan all along.

AJ: “You tricked us.”
Xero: “Why not? It was incredibly easy to manipulate you idiots. I knew with your steadfast attitudes you’d do anything to rescue your pathetic brother’s Pokémon, and then Chase would do anything to prevent harm from coming to you. I learned everything about the four of you from the first time you encountered Team Chaos. Remember that old base where you came to rescue AJ while he was brainwashed. I was there, disguised as a Team Chaos member because I knew there had to be someone during the time Pokemon was still popular who could actually defeat Team Chaos. Then like magic you and Vik appeared. I don’t know why you brought the kid along, but you two were perfect for my future plans of ridding this world of Team Chaos. I saw how valiant you were in your battles against Shade and Jason. So now the final part of my plan will come to fruition.”

Blade: “Enough! Xero, time to return!” The red retractor beam fired from the cartridge ball, but then Xero skillfully blocked it with only the flash drive he was holding.
Xero: “But Blade, I know just how badly you want to see an Arceus up close and personal. I’m going to make your dream come true, and it all starts with the Download ability I copied from Porygon-Z.” Krystal gasped and then signed something at Gwen.
Gwen: “Krystal, I don’t know that much sign language.” Krystal slapped herself on her forhead and instead ran over to where her PRi laid on the floor. Then Xero’s hand with the flash drive began glowing.
Xero: “And so it begins. Downloading, 5%.”

Gwen: “Chase, Vik, guys, do something.”
Chase: “Kingdra, Signal Beam!” Kingdra fired a bright green and pink beam that was aimed right at Xero.
Xero: “DoomBringer, assist me in my hour of need!” With his other hand Xero reactivated his PRi and his Shiny Spiritomb appeared. It absorbed the Signal Beam attack.
AJ: “What just happened?”
Vik: “DoomBringer has Wonder Guard hacked onto it. Regular attacks don’t work, but I got something that does. Tyranitar, activate Sand Stream Ability now!” Sand began to swirl around Tyranitar, and then Tyranitar let out a powerful roar and the dust devil turned into a full blown Sandstorm. DoomBringer began to struggle against the weather effect.

Blade: “Big mistake! With this Sandstorm I can’t recall Xero into the game cartridge.”
Xero: “Ha, Vik you are so foolish, but I might as well have some more fun while I’m at this. DoomBringer, use Trick Room! Let the attack only have effect on the Life Force Chamber and no other part of the Space Station.” DoomBringer generated a bizarre light that stretched from its body to all directions on the floor, then covered every wall, and then the ceiling. All the humans began feeling the effects of Trick Room as the gravity in the space station seemed to have been flipped. Everyone, including the Pokémon, levitated off the ground and then stuck to the ceiling.
Lucas: “Whoa, I’m flying!”

Jason: “Not quite. Trick Room is altering the gravity generated by the on board Clefables.” Everyone hit the ground, or rather ceiling, pretty hard. Vik and Chase landed on their heads, Jason and Lucas hitting the ceiling with their stomachs first, and Gwen, Krystal, Blade, and AJ landing awkwardly on their backs and legs. One by one they got up and rubbed the pain away from the body part they landed on. Xero and DoomBringer floated gently to the ceiling, and Xero hung onto the flash drive still absorbing the data from it.
Xero: “Now at 20% and counting. It won’t be long now.”

Vik: “Tyranitar, get moving!” Vik’s Tyranitar got up, but was moving in slow motion. It took at least a minute for it to lift itself off the ground and then take a battle stance.
Chase: “OK, who hit the frame-by-frame button on our Pokémon?” Chase looked over to his Kingdra, and it looked like it was beached as it lay on its belly on the ceiling. “Get up Kingdra!” Kingdra struggled, but the altered gravity made it impossible to get up.
Xero: “You fools can’t possible win now.” Chase reached for his PRi, and then hit a few buttons on the touch screen.

Chase: “Kingdra, return! Quaketail, let’s rock!” Kingdra was recalled and then replaced with Chase’s silver armadillo Pokémon, Quaketail. Quaketail then let out a cheerful cry as it slammed its sledgehammer shaped tail against the ceiling, smashing a light panel with the bulbs inside it in the process. It then stared down DoomBringer who was still generating the bizarre light that caused Trick Room.
Xero: “Ha ha, you’re fifth gen Pokémon will be short lived. DoomBringer, Shadow Ball!” Quaketail took the Shadow Ball head on. Chase saw that the attack only took away about 1/3 of its full HP.
Chase: “Quaketail, Earthquake.” Quaketail gave out a panic sounding cry and then shook its head. “You don’t know Earthquake, but you caused that crazy tremor earlier. How about Magnitude?” Quaketail shook its head again to tell everyone that it didn’t know either of the two attacks. “Then what do you know?”

Vik: “Quit messing around with the Prototype Pokemon, Chase! Tyranitar, keep up the Sand Stream!” Tyranitar’s Sand Stream kicked the sandstorm back up and slowly started chiseling away at DoomBringer’s HP. Then Vik noticed something else, Xero had an HP bar on the PRi’s top screen too, next to Doombringer’s. It was as if they were in a double battle. His HP was dwindling because of the Sandstorm as well.
Xero: “Downloaded 33%. You fools are almost out of time.”
Vik: “Maybe not! You’re a pokemon as well Xero, so that means I’m not holding back! Tryranitar, Stone Edge on Xero!” Tyranitar materialized stone shards and then fired them in Xero’s direction. This time Doombringer jumped and intercepted the attack, and Wonder Guard rendered the attack useless.

Chase: “Quaketail, Iron Tail. Aim for the flash drive!” Quaketail used it’s tail as a springboard and launched itself into the air and as propelled in Xero’s direction. Quaketail’s tail glowed while and then it did a front flip and the Iron Tail came swinging downward. Xero then side stepped to the right and the attack missed, but he stepped away rather quickly for a human.
Xero: “Trick Room’s still in effect and too bad Iron Tail’s not that good on accuracy. DoomBringer, Silver Wind! Combine it with the Sandstorm and do some real damage to Tyranitar!” A swirl of silver powdered wind exploded in the room, and then started blowing toward Tyranitar. Vik’s PRi showed the message “a Critical Hit!” and Tyranitar lost 2/3 of its max HP. Vik sighed.
Vik: “I guess it’s a good thing DoomBringer doesn’t have perfect stats.”

Xero: “Where would be the fun in having a Pokemon with perfect stats, right Jason?” Xero looked through the sandstorm toward Jason, who grunted.
Jason: “Blade, shouldn’t we do something?”
Blade: “Sceptile is knocked out, and the Sandstorm’s too harsh for me to call Xero back into a cartridge ball. I hate to say it, but we’ll have to rely on Chase and his friends to defeat Xero.” Xero stood on the ceiling and then checked his PRi top screen. Doombringer’s max HP was down by a quarter. He looked over to DoomBringer, who soon stopped projecting the bizarre light that covered the walls, ceiling, and floor of the entire room. Soon Chase and the others began falling off the ceiling.

Lucas: “Wait, we’re falling?”
Gwen: “Trick Room wore off.” Blade then hit a button on his Bluetooth device and spoke loud and clear.
Blade: “All Pokemon using Gravity, please stop. Take a break! Repeat, stop all Gravity attacks. Stop all Gravity attacks.” Blade’s voice echoed through the PA system in the entire space station. Everyone was falling but soon slowed down and gently bumped the ground. Chase tried to thrust his body upward but found it difficult to get his body to stay in one position or in one area. He and his friends were floating around the room in different directions and the ongoing Sandstorm was getting sand in his clothes.
Chase: “Quaketail, go after Xero!” Chase loked over to Quaketail, who scrambled around uselessly in the zero gravity. It couldn't steer its body anywhere toward Xero. Then another Shadow Ball appeared through the Sandstorm and hit it, sending Quaketail spinning toward the wall. Chase watched his PRi screen as Quaketail’s HP dropped into the red quarter part of the bar.

Lucas: “Wait, I got this! Smojinn, go!” Lucas brought out his PRi and then his big, purple genie Pokémon appeared from it. “Will-O-Wisp on DoomBringer, Smojinn!” Blue fireballs appeared all around Smojinns hands and then it pointed one hand twoard DoomBringer and they floated toward the Shiny Pokémon. DoomBringer found it nearly hard to move since there no longer was any gravity. All the blue fire balls hit it and inflicted a burn.
AJ: “Yes! Nice shot bro.” AJ said that as he used his legs to bounce of the staircase that ran along the wall of the Life Force chamber to one of its exits. Then he launched himself into the sandstorm and was hoping to find Xero.
Xero: “Enough of this. Dusknoir, it’s you turn my good friend.” Xero released his Dusknoir from his PRi and it appeared next to him. Doombringer had a noticeable black burn on its keystone and it drained it of even more HP with the Sandstorm.

Jason: “Sir, when do you plan on restoring the artificial gravity?”
Blade: “When the time is right, I’ll command the onboard Clefable and Jirachi to do so.” Just then Blade felt something grab his arm, then he looked behind him and saw Dusknoir grabbing him.
Jason: “Boss! Hypno, I choose you.” Jason brought out his PRi. The sandstorm began raging once again, and it blew sand into his eyeglasses temporarly blinding him.
Blade: “Jason, hurry.”
Jason: “Hypno, make Dusknoir let go with Psychic.”

Xero: “Dusknoir, use Shadow Punch on Hypno. DoomBringer, Dark Pulse on Smojinn!” DoomBringer fired a black beam right at Smojinn. It was a direct hit and was taken out in one shot since it was at a much lower level then DoomBringer. Dusknoir then fired a shadow punch from one of its hands and it hit Jason’s Hypno pretty hard. Hypno then shook it off and then concentrated on Dusknoir. Dusknoir then struggled to break free from Hypno’s grip. Blade tried to hit Dusknoir himself but since it was a ghost it was no use. Vik then concentrated on defeating DoomBringer and Xero.
Vik: “Finish them off. Another Stone Edge!”

Xero: “Hold that thought! Dusknoir now you use Gravity!” Dusknoir’s only eye began glowing and then its entire body began glowing with a dark energy. Everyone began to hit the ground. Vik grabbed onto Tyranitar and it took the force of the fall. Chase and Lucas were already near the ground so they didn’t get hurt. Everyone else except for Xero and Blade ended up landing awkwardly. Dusknoir floated to the ground while still holding onto Blade. Xero then approached him while still holding onto the flash drive. Jason’s Hypno had lost its concentration from the sudden return of artificial Gravity and hurt itself while hitting the stair case.
Xero: “I’ve absorbed 83% of Arceus’ data. You sure you don’t want to stick around for the main event Blade? If not my Dusknoir and I will be glad to send you on a painful trip to hell.” Blade stopped trying to escape from Dusknoir’s grip. He still held the cartridge ball with the Pokémon LeafGreen game in it. Xero reached over and yanked the cartridge out.

Blade: “Put that back, Xero.” The sandstorm raged on once again. Xero held it out in a way that the sand would scratch the circuits that linked the cartridge with a Gameboy.
Xero: “I’d destroy this game, but then that’d make me a wild Ditto and available for capture. It’s better off if I hang onto his.” Xero slid it up his sleeve and it stuck to his Ditto-like flesh underneath the cloak. Just then Xero found it hard to move.
Jason: “Let him have it Hypno!” Jason and his Hypno were at the bottom of the staircase. Hypno swung its pendulum and whichever way it swung was the same way Xero flew and hit the rounded wall in the chamber.

Xero: “Jason, let me go!”
Jason: “Not a chance.”
Chase: “Quaketail, let Xero have it. Iron Tail!” Chase’s Quaketail ran to where Xero was pinned against the wall. Then it once again used its huge tail as a spring to launch it into the air and did a front flip with the tail about to hit it.
Lucas: “Here it comes!”
AJ: “It’s about time someone hit that jerk.” Quaketail was about to complete its front flip and slam it’s tail downward toward Xero then it got hit with a Shadow Ball and sent it flying against the wall as well. DoomBringer had fired one last attack.

Xero: “Nice try, but you pathetic excuse for heroes are still only second best. Oh, and I now have 91% of Arceus’ data. Better think fast! Ah.” Xero yelled in pain as he was lifted from the wall and slammed against it again with Hypno’s psychic powers. Then the Sandstorm raged again and he could feel himself becoming weak. Chase’s Quaketail then got up on all fours again. It had its left eye closed tight, showing its pain.
Chase: “Well if anything you tried hard, Quaketail.”
Vik: “I told you not to use a Prototype Pokémon.”

Chase: “Where’s the fun in using my usual Pokémon? Quaketail, time to return.” Chase’s Quaketail then slammed it’s right foreleg with the claw sinking into the steel ground.
Quaketail: “Quaketail! Quake!” It’s entire body lit up and it started glowing.
Chase: “Oh, no way!”
Xero: “No not now.”
Lucas: “Is it evolving?” Krystal nodded her head and showed Gwen something on her laptop. It was Quaketail’s pokedex page along with its evolution and what it was about to evolve into. She typed something in English so Gwen could inform everyone.

Gwen: “Yes, Quaketail’s evolving!” Quaketail nearly tripled in size, its four claws it walked on grew to huge, rounded legs with shorter claws on the ends, the body became bulky and resembled that of a stegosaurus without the big plated spikes on top, and the tail maintained it’s sledgehammer shape but also sprouted spikes on it. The head also maintained the main armadillo shape, and the shell was now colored a darker grey. The light of evolution wore off. Even though the dim grey was the mail color on its shell and body, it had bands around its legs that were goldenrod colored and the sledgehammer tail had also obtained the goldenrod coloring.
Gwen: “According to Krystal’s lap top, Quaketail just evolved into Golquake!” Golquake then looked up at Xero who was still pinned to the wall and still attempting to absorb all of Arceus’ data.
Xero: “Oh crud.”

Chase: “Sweet! Golquake, let’s get ‘im!” Golquake surprised everyone as it stood up on its hind legs with its right claw sparked with electricity. It then swiped it across Xero and destroyed the flash drive. Xero yelled in agony as the electricity from the attack surged through his body.
Vik: “Was that Thunder Punch?” Krystal typed something in English while Gwen read it off.
Gwen: “No, that’s Lightning Claw. A new TM move from the unfinished Generation 5 games. Krystal says it has high Critical Hit ratio and a chance at causing paralysis.”
Xero: “Good thing I also have Limber ability.” Xero spat out blood and tightened his grip on the damaged flash drive. He was actually bleeding from the cuts on his face from Golquake’s attack. Then he found himself unable to use the flash drive anymore. It was now useless. DoomBringer lost its remaining HP to the Sandstorm and Burn effect. Dusknoir was still holding Blade captive.

Blade: “It’s over Xero. You tried, but didn’t try hard enough.”
Xero: “So long as I’m breathing, so long as my soul wonders this world, it’s never over! Dusknoir, finish him off. Do whatever you please!” Dusknoir opened the second mouth on its chest. Blade looked inside and saw an infinite abyss of darkness inside the Pokémon. Dusknoir lifted him up and was preparing to bring Blade in.
Xero: “You’re choice Jason, it’s me or your beloved Boss.” Hypno was still holding Xero using Psychic, so Jason had to decide if he wanted to do.
Jason: “You killed my father, so allow me to return the favor.”

Xero: “So be it. Goodbye Blade, let me know how it’s like in there.” Dusknoir was about to drop Blade into the Abyss in its body when a String Shot attack came in from nowhere and wrapped around Blade. A Shiny Ariados appeared on the wall and then it pulled Blade in.
Shade: “Now Ariados, Shadow Sneak!” Shade came in running from the main entrance on the ground floor and Ariados’ shadow grew and slid over to Dusknoir. It was hit hard but still not enough to knock it out.
Brad: “Skarmory, Steel Wing!” A shiny Skarmory then flew in and glided toward Dusknoir. It was a direct hit, the blades sliced Dusknoir and it finally gave in and was knocked out. Xero looked on with disappointment.

Vik: “Whoa, great timing Brad.”
Brad: “Thanks.” He said this as his shiny Skarmory landed next to him. Blade stood next to Shade and lit another cigar. After puffing some smoke he spoke once again in a slightly raspy voice. Xero was still pinned against the wall from Psychic.
Blade: “It’s over Xero. Hand over the LeafGreen game and we’ll end this peacefully.”
Xero: “Let me down first.” Xero looked on with anger in his eyes, and a drop of blood clawing its way right above his left eyebrow and then down the side of his face. Golquake, Skarmory and Tyranitar each gave an intimidating cry while the Sandstorm finally subsided.

Jason: “OK Hypno, you extract the LeafGreen game with your Psychic.” The LeafGreen game flew out of Xero’s cloak and then into Blade’s hand. Amy then ran into the room and joined Brad. Blade took out his last cartridge ball and hooked the LeafGreen game into it.
Blade: “You brought this upon yourself Xero. Time to return!” Before Blade hit the button on the cartridge ball Xero chuckled evilly.
Shade: “What’s so funny, Xero?”
Xero: “Ha ha ha, you think you’ve won?” Xero’s voice was suddenly changing. He sounded a bit deeper, and more insane.

Vik: “Let’s see, we just defeated your WonderTomb and your Dusknoir is KO’d. Not to mention you lost to a Prototype Pokémon. I'd say the heroes win this battle.” Xero’s body began glowing.
Xero: “Well then, can you win against THIS?!” Xero somehow broke free from Hypno’s grip and then temporarily Transformed into Espedow and Teleported away.
Chase: “What happened?”
Gwen: “Did Xero absorb all of Arceus’ data?”
Blade: “If he did, then we’re all in grave danger.” The boss of Team Chaos then brought the cigar up to his lips and let out another puff of smoke.

Vik: “So Brad, where were you and Amy and how’d you get the shiny Skarmory?”
Brad: “Oh yeah, you’ll love this. You see-“ Just then the entire Space Station shook rather violently.
Lucas: “Earthquake!”
AJ: “How can we have an Earthquake? We’re in outer space!” The shaking continued for thirty seconds and then stopped as suddenly as it started. Gwen pressed a button to make a steel covering slide to reveal a large window that was ten feet in width and length. She then gasped at what she saw.
Gwen: “You guys have to see this. There, outside the space station!” Everyone looked out into the fastness of space and saw it. Xero made another transformation.

Thank you. The Trick Room/Zero Gravity scenes were tricky 'cause I kept forgetting where all the characters were, but I'm glad I pulled it off the way I did.

Chapter 24

When the new 5th gen Pokemon Zoroark was revealed, I simply couldn't resist having it make a cameo. So then I had to edit and rearrange a lot more then I'm used to for one chapter. Anyway, hope everyone who's inclined to read will enjoy this.

Chapter 24: Psycho Drive

If a person on Earth was to take a telescope and look up into the night sky, they’d see the many satellites and space stations that orbited the earth, along with the various stars in the galaxy. However, a new creature appeared outside the Team Chaos Space Station. Team Chaos’ Space station was made up of three spherical chambers with a loading dock in the center of them. Outside of the lower chamber there was a giant white creature floating outside with ugly arches attached to its body. Everyone onboard the Team Chaos Space Station looked out a large window toward it.
Brad: “I don’t believe it, Arceus.”

Amy: “But it’s not the same colors as the one in the Ken Sugimori artwork.” This Arceus had pink rings around its eyes with a pink dot below each one. Its stomach and back of its tail were colored a dim grey instead of the usual yellow colors. The Arcs were an olive green color. A chatot flew onto Amy’s shoulder and then spoke.
Chatot: “Krystal says It’s because this Arceus is the ‘Question-Mark Type’ secretly programmed into the games.” Amy squealed when Chatot stopped talking. Then Chatot flew back onto Krystal’s shoulder.
Lucas: “What’s Chatot doing back here again?”

Chatot: “Chatot feels better now. Time to bring pain to Xero right where it hurts.” Everyone looked back at the Arceus floating outside the Space station. It stayed motionless for at least five minutes.
Chase: “So far it hasn’t done anything. Maybe Xero suffered a glitch when Golquake hit him with Lightning Claw.” Blade walked right up to the window and looked outward toward the Arceus. He looked at it for a good minute while a string of smoke curled upward from his cigar. Suddenly the Arceus tilted its head and stared right back at Blade.
Blade: “Ah, it lives!” Blade took a step back and then something else began to happen. 16 orbs of light appeared and began to take form. Soon they took the form of 16 different plates, each one a different color.

Blade: “The 16 plates that give Arceus its power.”
Chase: “I remember finding them in the games, but I didn’t think they were that huge.” The 16 plates orbited Arceus like rings on a planet. Each plate was about the same height from Arceus’ head down to where its neck connected to its torso. Arceus still stared down at Blade. Then the plates began glowing.
Vik: “Should we do something? Like battle it?” Orbs of light appeared from the plates and then Arceus moved its head forward. 16 orbs of life then fired from the plates and hit the Space Station. The whole station shock violently and everyone fell onto the ground. Once the shaking stopped an alarm blared.
Blade: “That was a Judgement attack.”
Gwen: “Oh no, are we knocked out of orbit.”
Shade: “Someone contact the engineer on board.”

Blade: “I’ll take care of this. Shade, Gwen, you and our…” Blade looked back at Chase and his friends, put the cigar to his lips and puffed out some more smoke, and then turned back to Shade and Gwen. “… ‘honoured guests’ take care of this Arceus. I’ll go the bridge and see if an evacuation is necessary.” Suddenly everyone heard a voice echo though the room and in their heads.
Arceus: “No one is going anywhere!” It sounded like Xero’s voice, but there was a mechanical tone in there, making his voice sound distorted and it echoed with echoed syllable.
Chase: “Xero! Come out of hiding and face us like a real Trainer would.” The Arceus looked down at Chase and then fired a just a single energy ball of Judgement from one of its plates. The shockwave of the explosion from Judgement hitting the wall of the Space Station knocked Chase off his feet.

Arceus: “I am no longer Xero, or Jared! I am Arceus X, the ultimate Pokémon. The overlord of all things in this world! I can create it as I see fit.” Suddenly a black hole appeared in the Life Force Chamber.
Amy: “What’s happening?” She wrapped her arms around Brad, becoming terrified of what might happen. Then the black hole took form, and sprouted claws, a muzzle, legs with three red claws at the end of the feet, and then a huge mane ending in a ponytail. It looked like a werewolf.
Arceus X: “You see, I took a little trip to Japan before visiting Chase. I knew we slightly altered the future Team Chaos lives in and Ken and Jun from Gamefreak did infact create one new Pokémon. Zoroark, attack!” The werewolf Pokémon quickly ran on all fours toward Chase’s Golquake.

Chase: “Quick Golquake, use Rollout!” Golquake rolled into a ball and charged right at Zoroark! Then it rolled right through the werewolf Pokémon. Everyone gasped in shock. It was an illusion.
Arceus X: “Now my feral creation, strike back with Brick Break!” Seemingly out of nowhere, Zoroark leaped toward Golquake and then hit it hard with its claw. Golquake cried out in pain and then collapsed. On Chase’s PRi screen he saw that its’ HP had fallen from about ¼ of its Max HP to 0.
Gwen: “It took on too much damage from battling Spiritomb earlier. Call it back Chase.”
Brad: “Skarmory, get in there with Brave Bird!” Brad’s shiny Skarmory took off and flew right at Zoroark! Skarmory’s body was surrounded in what looked like blue flames and it flew right into Zoraork’s body but it disappeared again.
Arceus X: “Zoroark is the ‘ruler of illusions’ so you cannot win against it.” Krystal then gasped and got an idea. She reached for her PRi and then summoned Lucario and Chatot.

Chatot: “Rawk! Chatot’s feeling better and back in chapters again!”
Lucas & AJ (quietly): “Oh no.” Krystal signed a few things and Chatot got back to its job of being her interpreter.
Chatot: “Aura Sphere can track the real Zoroark. Go get him, Lucario!”
Brad: “Skarmory, follow the Aura Sphere and hit Zoroark with Brave Bird!” Krystal’s Lucario charged up an Aura Sphere in it paws, then fired the blue ball. The Aura Sphere curved toward the left and hit the real Zoroark. Brad’s Shin Skarmory then followed up with another Brave Bird and delivered the finishing blow.
Brad: “Bull’s eye!”
Vik: “Direct hit.” Zoroark was knocked over on its back and then gave out a cry in pain. Then it semmingly turned black and faded away.

Arceus X: “Impressive. Fine, I guess I have no choice but to battle you pests myself!” Xero’s distorted voice echoed as two more Judgement attacks struck the Space Station. The alarm blared once again. Then Gwen heard beeping in her blue tooth and answered it.
Gwen: “This is Gwennyth Beltran. Report!”
Blade (Over phone): “Engines 3 and 2 are down. I can’t properly steer the ship. This space station is drifting but will still orbit the earth. Finish the battle and then I’ll contact NASA to send an emergency repair team.”
Gwen: “Understood, we’ll – Ah!” Another Judgement attack hit the Life Force Chamber where everyone was. Once again everyone fell onto the ground.

Brad: “Let’s battle! Skarmory and I are ready!”
Vik: “Hey Boss, you never explained how your Skarmory turned into a Shiny Pokemon.” Amy reached into her purse and pulled out a device that looked very similar to an Action Replay.
Brad: “I had a bit of help from Shade here to reprogram this. I call it the ‘Psycho Drive.’ Just insert this into your PRi and any Pokémon you send out will have perfect stats and as a cool side effect, become shiny.”
Vik: “You HACKED your Skarmory?”
Brad: “Do you want to beat Xero or not?” Brad said this as he handed the Action Replay over to Vik. Vik stared at it and then looked over to Chase and AJ. They both nodded.

Chase: “It’s the only chance we have. No telling what Xero is up to in Arceus’ body.”
AJ: “After all, if the boss of Team Rocket is willing to hack his Pokémon, shouldn’t the Team Rocket Prodigy be willing to do the same?” Vik then ejected his Pokémon Pearl Game and then inserted the Action Replay.
Vik: “Here goes. Scizor come on out!” A bright flash came from Vik’s PRi and then a green Scizor emerged from it.
Lucas: “Wow, it looks so cool.”
Vik: “So dude, how long does the Psycho Drive effect last?”
Brad: “Until either it faints or when you call it back. Once it returns to the DS game it’ll be back to its normal stats and coloring.”

Amy: “By the way, you don’t need to keep the Psycho Drive in your PRi to keep the effect active. Go ahead and give it to AJ or his cute little brother.” Lucas blushed to hear an older girl call him cute.
Vik passed the Action Replay over to AJ.
AJ: “Oh this is going to be sweet. Salamance, I choose you!” After inserting the Action Replay in his PRi, his Salamance appeared with green colors instead of blue. Then he gave the device to his brother.
Lucas: “Alright, time for round two. Let’s go Gallade!” After the bright flash of light, Lucas’ Galalde appear with a blue helmet and chest instead of green. Then he handed it over to Chase.
Chase: “Alright. Nidoking, let’s get ‘em!” After inserting the Action Replay into his PRi, Chase’s blue Nidoking appeared and gave out a roar to share its enthusiasm to battle. After calling out his Pokémon he gave the device to Gwen.

Gwen: “Gardevoir, it’s payback time!” A Gardevoir with blue “hair” and blue chest appeared. After calling out her Pokémon gave the device to her friend Krystal. Krystal recalled her Lucario and then inserted the action replay into her PRi.
Chatot: “Krystal’s calling out Lucario AGAIN? Krystal needs to train new Pokémon.” Chatot’s comment earned him a tail feather being yanked. As Chatot cried in pain a Shiny Lucario appeared from Krystal’s game. Then she gave to Action Replay to Shade.
Shade: “I’ve been waiting a long time to do this. Darkrai, action time!” Shade watched as a dark blue Darkrai appeared. For him seeing a Shiny Darkrai in person was awe inspiring.

Arceus X: “Are you insects done with your pretty little light show?”
Chase: “You’re not enjoying this Xero? You’re part of it after all.”
Gwen: “Gardevoir…”
Lucas: “And Gallade…”
Gwen & Lucas: “Use Teleport!” Gardevoir and Gallade transported all the Shiny Pokémon outside of the space station.

Arceus X: “Ha! It doesn’t how many Pokémon you send out. It’s not good enough to defeat me!” Arceus X then summoned more energy blasts from its 16 plates and then fired them all at the Pokémon.
Chase: “Everyone, get moving!” All the trainers watched as 16 orbs of energy flew around trying to hit all the Pokemon. Three of the orbs hit the Space Station and caused it shake again. Chase’s Nidoking was hit and sent flying and Crashing into the upper sphere above the Life Force chamber. Gardevoir and Gallade kept Teleporting to avoid Arceus X’s attack.
Shade: “Darkrai, put it to sleep with Dark Void!” Shade’s Darkrai charged a ball of dark energy and then surrounded Arceus with it. The attack hit, but it seemed to have no effect on Arceus on it.
Gwen: “Why isn’t it working.” Xero’s voice was letting out an evil laugh.

Arceus X: “Ha ha, you fools! I suspected you would try something like this, so I reprogrammed Arceus to have two abilities. In that five minute interval I found one of the on board Clefables and used Ditto’s ability to Transform to copy Magic Guard Ability. Now I can only take damage! I still have access to Multi-type as well. So I can do this!” The Purple plate glowed and Arceus X changed colors to match its Ghost type form.
Brad: “Now Skarmory, hit it with Night Slash!” Brad’s Shiny Skarmory flew toward Arceus with one of its wings glowing with a dark aura.
Arceus X: “Oh no you don’t.” The yellow plate glowed and Arceus changed into its electric type. Then it fired a yellow ball of Judgement and hit Skarmory.

Amy & Brad: “Oh no, Skarmoy!”
Chase: “Nidoking quick, land an Earthquake on him.” Nidoking began floating its way toward Arceus X.
Arceus X: “Oh you’re just desperate now!” Arceus X changed into its Flying form and then with amazing speed dodge Nidoking’s attempt to strike him. Then Arceus summoned a swirl of energy around Nidoking.
Chase: “Nidoking, get out of there!”
Arceus X: “Too late Chase! Take this; Spacial Rend!” Nidoking was sucked into a dark purple vortex that twisted around it and severly damaged it. Then suddenly Nidoking disappeared.

Chase: “Where’d Nidoking go?”
Gwen: “Xero must’ve used Palkia’s powers of Spacial Distortion to transport Nidoking somewhere!” All the Pokémon outside looked around but then suddenly a portal opened and Nidoking flew out and hit Krystal’s Lucario.
Arceus X: “It seems to me that your so called ‘Psycho Drive’ program has failed you.” Arceus X let out another evil laugh.
Chase: “Gr, Xero you jerk. We’ll find a way to defeat you once and for all.”

Arceus X: “Then you better find a way before you all die in the emptiness of space!” Xero said this as he formed 16 orbs for his Judgement attack and then fired them all. This time all the orbs missed the Pokémon and headed right for the Space Station. All 16 seemed to be concentrated on one area, the very center of the Space Station!
Gwen: “Xero, don’t!”
Shade: “It’s too late!” There was a deafening explosion when the attack hit. Afraid to find out what happened, everyone kept their eyes shut while the space station vibrated.
