Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon BW Sequels?!?

If Black/White:setsB2: is 3DS I will be a very happy guy.
I am NOT liking the cover forms. Tutors yes, more gen 5 DW abilitys yes, Kyurem forms no.

While I hope BW2 is for the 3ds, I don't think it will be. They are too dependent on sprites. They have really now 3d models from the 3d pokedex they won't use and a secon party made rumble blast not to mention the best possible pokemon game ever made is being released for the ds.

They just seem like lazy developers to me and that is irritating.

@Ulti: seeing "BW:setsB2:" again and the symbol being exclusive to this site is spanky-shweet looking- I think it'll catch on for reference to the sequals...... just say'n

@Vaporeon: well, to me it would seem alot of factors would have to be considered in discussion as to whether or not the games are 3DS or not..........

like how many more 3DS's sell between now and 6 months from now (my guess), and if the developers are in on pushing to help the 3DS sell more. Why put out a top selling game onto a system that has not been established without it being a game that supports the systems release? (Mario, Zelda, ect.... first party develpors that "hype" the next system's release)-- If a system has sold millions compared to thousands, and copies of the games sold in the millions with the system that sold in the millions- where would you invest in pocketing more cash?

From a business point of view, and what the current trend in the boost in support (downloads, DW online site, event pokies) and the current VGC scene, Pokemon has alot going for it right now to not risk to many major jumps that could possably "kill" the interest-- I would put the games out on the DS/DSI and if the game IS played on a 3DS it would have the option to make the game 3d like how you can have the C-gear on or off at the satrt. This is just a business/retail opinion point of view is all.

If it does go 3DS exclusive- I may not like it as much--

But Pokemon is one game I am "hardcore" about in many ways, I would purchase a 3DS just so that I can watch a full 360 degree stomping of my opponant.

For the record it has been stated that BW2 will be a DS title, but as BW did it will be enhanced by the DSi, DSi XL, and 3DS, though what the enhancements hasn't been confirmed.

Once again, reports of the 3DS's death have been greatly exaggerated. Relative to lifecycle, the 3DS has outsold the DS rather handily. Putting an instant Platinum-selling franchise like Pokemon on the 3DS is a good business move by Nintendo. There's already an established base of 16 million units, the price point is now where most people can grab one either New or Used, and Nintendo gets to further push their new platform. I think that it's riskier for Nintendo to continue pushing high-selling software onto the DS platform, as the hardware totals there are probably pretty darn close to saturation, while the 3DS still has tons of room for growth.

That's only if you consider that A) they had to cut the price by like 35% to move units (while the old DS was at its old msrp for how long?), and B) it's now the successor to the DS instead of a side gimmick, so they're phasing out the older ones now, and eventually all titles will be 3DS only.

That being said, even I want a 3DS now ironically, was at Fry's the other day and a Nintendo rep was demoing them, so I was expecting the same old spiel, but after trying some of those augmented reality games, it really is pretty fun.

A) The original price was silly. And, without adequate software at launch, it couldn't sell at all. The price drop coincided with fantastic software releases. You don't push new gaming hardware with hardware and price point alone. You need software. And now the 3DS has it. And now they're not giving it more software, they're going to sell less. It's a poor business decision.

B) It is the successor to the DS. You could not run MGS on a regular DS. You could not run a remade OoT on a regular DS. It is a superior system in virtually every possible way (except for the lack of GBA compatibility, but GBA is something like 15 years old anyway).

In terms of tech, I would be willing to bet you could port OoT on a regular DS, after all they redid SM64 for it and technically with 3 new characters too, so you can port N64 games to the DS. Something like MM is more debatable though since it needed the expansion pack back in the day, which is something the 3DS could probably do over the older DS. MGS, dunno much about it, but if we're talking PS1 level tech and not PS2, it probably could.

But yeah, I do agree otherwise the 3DS was definitely lacking in software at launch as well, it's not that good of a story if your bestseller back then was what, the SF4 port right? But with all the upcoming titles they should've had ready back then coming up now, it's definitely more of a buy than it was before.
