Chapter 1: The Tyrant

"So…this is our mission huh? To take this tiny town?” He said as he rose to his feet surveying the area.

He was clearly in charge, but of what? This boy looked no older than 18 and stood a mere 5’10”, short black hair tufted out and protruded just before his crystal blue eyes. The boy was in fair shape, bulky shoulders jutted out giving a sense that boy logged many hours of hard training. He was dressed in all green, with heavy black combat boots, and black leather gloves with the fingers cut off. Draped over his right shoulder was a leather belt that curved down his back and around his waist to his front where it met a large belt buckle marked with a “C”. Upon this belt rested an Ultra ball placed securely over his heart.

“Well let’s get this over with shall we?” The boy said as he took the Ultra ball from his chest. “By the books, keep to your training, take all prisoners.”

And with that 5 men appeared from the forest behind the boy all dressed in identical sandy colored army suits, all in heavy black combat boots, all with the same leather gloves on, each man holding a Poke-ball. The boy issued the order “Charge!” Suddenly all the men including the boy released their Pokémon. The 5 men each had the same Pokémon, 5 Machoke were instantly released. But from the boys Ultra ball came forth a large beast of a Pokémon, there leading the pack of Machoke was the boy’s Tyranitar. Then the five men including the boy dressed in green rushed down the hill toward the town with their respective Pokémon at their sides. As they came upon the town a sign read “Welcome to Baron Town. Population: 150”.

Baron town was a small town situated on the eastern coast of Sinnoh located somewhere between Hearthome City and Veilstone City. For year’s Baron town has been a place of interest to archeologists and Pokémon trainers a like. The town’s motto read “If adventures you seek follow the Baron.” Baron town was said to be founded numerous years ago by the extremely late Baron Von Noir, an avid adventurer and famed Ghost Pokémon trainer who claimed to have found a way of controlling Pokémon via Psychic waves. The great Baron often used his namesake town as a training ground to strengthen his mind and body. Though the town is small, a mere yearly population of 150 it relies on a heavy tourist flow of trainers and scholars who search for adventure and strength. On any given day 500-700 tourists can be found, training their Pokémon or skimming over the ancient ruins of the past. Or maybe just enjoying a refreshing drink, on a warm sunny, quiet day.

Bang! A large explosion was set off, followed by as mass of smoke that engulfed the small town. Yelling and screaming could be heard for miles. The town’s people panicked and ran back to their homes, Pokémon trainers stood tall, Pokémon at their sides ready for what ever appeared from the smoke. Through the chaos orders could be heard, attack orders.

“Machoke, Brick Break!”

“Cross Chop Machoke!”

Perhaps the loudest most authoritative order came from the boy in green. “Tyranitar, Earthquake!” and with that the town was taken.

The men and their Machoke wasted no time in rounding up the towns folk, placing them in the center of the town. The boy in green watched from the side, arms crossed, eyes closed, his work was done. His mission complete, all that was left now was to report to his superior. The boy reached to his right side and from all small pocket he took a hands free head set, pressed a small read button on the device and placed it on his head.

“Sir…this is Tyrant. The mission’s a success. We are awaiting your arrival. Over and out.”

pretty cool so far. kind of sounds like a story my main character told about himself in my story (see pokemon x) i look forward to more. I kind of wonder if these guys are good or bad... earthquaking a town doesn't make you bad... does it?

I guess it depends on if the town is full of criminals.

I personally think that it would have been cool if when Tyrannitar used Earthquake, the town was leveled so the tallest building was four feet tall.

Thank you guys. I like the idea of a leveled town so I went with it. I hope you don't mind. Great idea!

Chapter 2: The Ghost

The sky grew black as a massive storm front pushed in from the West. The air grew cold and damp. The town’s people huddled together for warmth. The trainers had been stripped of their Poke-balls as to crush any attempt at resistance. The invaders sit sprawled out on the ground, laughing and rejoicing their swift victory. All but the boy in green, his eyes remained fixed on the sky, as if waiting for the rain to come.

But there was no rain, no thunder, and no flashes of lighting. But there was a sound. A sound of rudders rapidly turning, and there was flashing, flashes of about two dozen high beam headlights, and there was a downpour, a downpour of at least twelve large helicopters quickly descending to the ground.

The helicopters touched down causing massive updrafts which sent a thick cloud of dust into the air, choking at the lungs of the town’s people and their invaders a like. The lead copter’s door flung open and a petite young woman no older than the boy in green jumped out. She had hazel brown eyes, pale skin and long strawberry blonde hair that curled just before he shoulders. She was dressed in a long elegant red dress, with small white gloves that covered not only her hands but half her arm as well. On her feet she wore beautifully trimmed white moccasins laced with a tiny pink ribbon that wrapped around her foot and formed a bow. Draped around her neck hung a large sliver chained pendant with an etched “C” in the middle.

“Well…well…well this looks like your handy work Tyrant. Leave it to you to level the entire town but the center. You’re lucky I was sent a head before the boss, or you would be in some hot water.” She said placing her hands on her hips.

No one had noticed it…or maybe no one had mentioned it for fear of reprimand. The Towns people were forced to the town square because the tyrannical earthquake had taken out the majority of the buildings in Baron town. But the men knew it was best not to question Tyrant’s methods of operation. Many a henchmen hand found themselves in the Crunch of his Tyranitar.

“Huh? What are you talking about? I did what I was ordered to do.” Tyrant said crossing his arms with a big smirk on his face.

“Well…I don’t believe you were ordered to quake the entire city you big dummy! Hehe, isn’t that right Gengar?” Suddenly a flash of purple with glowing eyes appeared behind the girl “Gengar geng.” Said the translucent Pokémon. “I personally think Gengar and I should have gotten this mission…but I guess the boss thought it was best to send in rock for brains.” She said, softly petting Gengar.

“What?!” “What did you just say?!” Replied Tyrant, a fire burning is his eyes and throat causing him to almost choke on his words.

“You heard me block head! Nuuh!” Sticking her tongue out at Tyrant.

“Look Ghost…those are battling words…if you’re looking for a fight you’ve come to the right place.”

Their eyes widened, squaring off Gengar by Ghost’s side ready to fight.

“Sir! The boss’s chopper is arriving.” Reported one of Tyrants men.

“Teehee, you’re in for it now.” Laughed Ghost.

All who were present that day gasped at the gigantic sliver chopper slowly descending with in inches of the captive town’s folk. The shear size of the chopper was enough to silence anyone. The door slowly slid open and an older man, at least in is 50’s stepped out.

The man was tall and thin with very pale skin and piercing gray eyes. His hair was spiky, jutting out in all different directions, It looked out of place with the blackened sky. For his hair was as white as the driven snow on a freshy powdered mountain. His face was chiseled and scared, he had clearly faced the tests of time, and he had clearly fought many a battles. He wore a buttoned up white lab coat that covered most of his body, but cutting off just before the cuff of his pants. Beneath the labcoat, barely visable were silver white dresspants with wide bottoms that flapped in the strong breeze. His crisp gray loafers looked like they had never been worn before, not a spec of dirt could be detected. On the lab coat just over his left breast one could make out an embroidered black “C”. He was hunched over to one side, holding him self up with a silver and platinum cane.

Tyrant and Ghost kneeled to the man dressed in white. Their quarrel now quaffed by his presence. “Pro...Professor Cyprus…I have secured the town for you sir.” Whispered Tyrant his head down and his eyes fixed on the ground.

“Yeah daddy he only had to destroy half of the buildings this time. Hehe” Giggled Ghost

“Gengengen!” Chuckled Ghost's Gengar.

Professor Cyprus glanced over the ruined town then down at Tyrant. Tyrant began to shake, feeling the man’s eyes transfixed on him. “Good work Tyrant…as long as the town square is safe and the people are unharmed that is all that matters. Now…once Muscle arrives with his mission our plan can be put into action.” Tyrant sighed in relief, glad the Professor was not angry.

“But…but daddy! He totaled the town! Aren’t you going to punish him?” Ghost gave the man in white a big smile and batted her eyelashes.

“Oh…very well sweetie. Tyrant, set up camp and have the men begin construction on the Control Tower, feed the prisoners and tend to their needs.” Ordered Professor Cyprus.

“Neeh!” Ghost stuck her tongue out at Tyrant.” “Have fun block head, remember I like my bed extra soft!”

Professor Cyprus linked arms with Ghost. “Come along Ghost; let us get acquainted with our new home.”

“One day Ghost…one day…you will be mine.” Whispered Tyrant as he watched Ghost and Professor Cyprus turn their backs and begin walking away. “All right you dogs! You heard the Professor, set up camp! Construct the C Tower and feed the prisoners! Let’s go!”

And with that the remaining choppers doors flung open and dozens of men all dressed identically in sandy army attire jumped out, each releasing a Machoke that immediately began setting up camp.

Each time a different character speaks, it should be a new paragraph. It's impossible to tell who's talking most of the time.

Show, don't tell. Work description into actions or movement. Talk about Ghost flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder, or having to lift up her dress in order to get out of the chopper. Anything other than just a list is good.

Right right...I'm usually strapped for time when I jot some if this stuff down. I know I should be going into more detailed details. Once I find the time...hopefully for chapter 3 I will write alot better. I have not written anything in a long time some I'm more than a little rusty. Thanks for the tip though.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

There I hope that format is a bit more easy to read. I understand how it was difficult to tell who was talking before. I hope that makes it a bit better?

Chapter 3: The Muscle

The camp was set up quickly as per the Professor’s orders. The men worked diligently under the close watch of Captain Tyrant. The storm had passed by with out a single drop of precipitation touching the taken ground. Though the clouds had parted the landscape was still covered in darkness.

“Sir, the camp is up and running. The radar, communications and other vital programs are now online.” Reported Tyrant as he moved the head tents flap out of the way and entered the dark tent. The tent was other wise lightless except for a white laptop that rapidly flashed blue with some sort of mathematic formula scanning across the screen. It took a minute for Tyrant’s eyes to adjust but when they did he could see Professor Cyprus with his hands behind is back, looking out one of the tents small nylon windows, deep in thought.

“Good. Now take your men and cover the south entrance. The town only has one main way in or out, I’m giving you the simple task of making sure no one comes snooping around.” Replied Cyprus still gazing out the small window.

“And what of the prisoner’s sir?” Questioned Tyrant.

“I say we line them up and use them for target practice.” Said a raspy voice veiled in shadows.

Both Tyrant’s and Cyprus’s eyes focused on the door to the tent. There, stood an outline of a tall balky man. Tyrant squinted to get a better look. But he knew who it was. The Muscle. The scourge of C-corp. The punch first ask questions later 3rd Captain.

“Ah Muscle my boy! I trust your mission was a success?” Where is it?” Begged Cyprus.

“Oh yeah, it was a success…follow me. It’s waiting for you outside. You come too Tyrant. I want you to see what success is.” Chuckled the bulky silhouette who was now opening the flap, allowing the bright light to cut the darkness.

Cyprus followed Muscle out into the light with Tyrant not too far behind. Cyprus stopped in his tracks, his eyes fixated on something. For there, in the middle of the camp was a large square metal box. With a Giant white “C” Painted on all four sides.

Tyrant could now see Muscle in full light. He hadn’t changed a bit thought Tyrant. Still a big dumb muscle for heir. Brains, Muscle might have been short on, but he was a credit to his name as Muscle’s muscles absolutely dwarfed Tyrant’s. Muscle was a real warrior, a true solider that got the job done and who didn’t mind getting dirty. And indeed Muscle was dirty, covered in mud from almost head to toe. His light blue tank top was ripped and torn in several places. His ice blue camouflage pants had the knees completely ripped out. And his boots were caked in mud with no sign of the actual color. Muscle’s face was scratched and scared and mud spotted. He had clearly had the more difficult of the missions. The only thing that wasn’t dirty was Muscle’s pride and joy, his light blue bandanna with the C-corp. “C” stitched on the forehead. He always kept it clean no matter how dirty or rough his missions were.

“Yes! Soon…soon you men will witness true control!” Shouted Professor Cyprus, This out burst forced everyone with in ear shot to drop what they were doing and gather around.

“Daddy I’m trying to nap! What are you going on about you old fool?!” It was Ghost, she stumbled out of her tent dressed in red flannel pajamas with tiny pink hearts, her hair a mess, and a plush Ghastly in her hand, she rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

Wow, thought Tyrant, even with frizzy bead head she’s beautiful. But that thought was quickly jolted from his head.

“Huh? Oh! Mu-Muscle…eep! Don’t look at me!” Screeched Ghost as she quickly ran back into her tent dropping her plush Ghastly.

Tyrant quickly scurried over and picked it up, hiding the plush behind his back before Cyprus could see him. What am I? Chopped liver? He thought.

“Uh…is she going to be alright?” Asked Muscle with a clueless look on his face.

“She is fine! Now let us see my prizeee!” Yelled Cyprus, his fists clenched in anticipation.

“Uh right…Machamp! Give me a hand with this will you?” Muscle said as he released his Machamp from its ultra ball. “Now! Feast your eyes on the prize, the one the only…Uxie!” Said Muscle as he and his Machamp lifted the door on the metallic box. A Cute little noise could be heard with in the box then out floated one of the three lake guardians. The legendary Uxie.

No way thought Tyrant. Uxie? The legendary Pokémon? But this Uxie seemed different. For around Uxie’s neck was a collar with a blue flashing “C” on it. “Sir…wha-what’s that around Uxie’s neck?” Asked Tyrant, still amazed at the legendary sight before him.

“That is my second greatest invention, the “C-collar”. Answered Cyprus crossing his arms and bringing one hand up to his chin. “Yes…you see this collar allows me to control Uxie…and through this collar I shall bring forth the great loss of both Pokémon and Human’s a like. I will have total control!” Cyprus’s eyes grew wide as did his grin. He looked sinister…more so than usual.

“Shut up Daddy!” Screamed Ghost now dressed in her lush red dress. Her hair still slightly a mess. “You know I need my beauty sleep! Hehe, hi there Muscle…aren’t you a dirty boy!”

“Uh…well…” Mumbled Muscle.

“Gyaah!” Said Tyrant as he hit the ground face first.

Muscle, Cyprus and Ghost all looking at Tyrant who quickly picked himself up. “Huh…I tripped on a…a root…umm yeah! Damn root! I could have been killed!” Blushed Tyrant, hoping Ghost hadn’t seen him fall.

“Right…” Snickered Ghost.

“Enough goofing around! We must test my theory! Come along Uxie.” Cyprus said as he pressed a button on a small handheld device. “We shall convene in the test tent in 20 minutes. Don’t be late!” Cyprus headed toward the largest tent Uxie slowly hovering behind him.

“Well…whatcha’ think of that Tyrant old pal?” Said Muscle slapping Tyrant on the back. “Betcha never seen a legend before…except for me.”

“Yeah right…how great you are that you can throw a piece of plastic over the neck of a legendary Pokémon.” Mumbled Tyrant his arms now crossed, Ghost’s plush Ghastly now visible.

“Hey! My plushy! Heh Thanks for picking it up for me Tyrant!” Ghost said as she took it from him hugging it, her sweet scent of Cherrim #5 drifting around Tyrant making him nervous.

“Uh...yeah n-no problem…y-you smell g-good.” Muttered Tyrant.

“Huh? What was that?” Giggled Ghost.

"N-nothing! I uh…didn’t say anything.” Keep it together Tyrant…not in front of Muscle…show no weakness, thought Tyrant.

“Man you sure are weird block head, Teehee. Now let’s go see what my Daddy is doing with that cute little Uxie.” Said Ghost as she linked arms with Muscle. “Come on Musy, you can escort me there.”

Tyrant looked up at the sky. What could he be doing with Uxie? Hmm I’m not sure if I like what is going on here. And Ghost…what are you doing with Muscle? Things just don’t seem right.

Chapter 4: Test of Emotions

Sunlight had finally broken the overcast of dark clouds, and from the darkness shot forth a giant silver tower. Constructed by man and Pokémon the tower loomed over Baron Town. 18 stories of metal and glass each adorned with a “C”, 18 stories of power, 18 stories of glory. Atop the tower was a large ominous satellite aimed toward the sky.

The towns people are now shackled, their poke-balls still out of their reach. They knew not what they are about to witness. They knew not that they are about to be part of something…something big, something monumental, for better or worse…something.

“Yes! The time has come! Now gaze upon my greatest solution!” Cackled Professor Cyprus as he stood at a control panel inside a dimly lit room, in which Muscle, Ghost, and Tyrant all stood wide eyed and transfixed on a small 10”x10” glass window in a metal divider that divided the control room with the test facility. In the center of the test portion of the room laid Uxie, eyes still closed tightly, shackled and harnessed to a metal table. The C-collar still clamped around its neck.

“Are you ready? To witness a power not seen for thousands of years?” Asked Cyprus with a maniacal grin on his face.

“Yes Daddy! Hurry up! I have better things to do then watch you play Arceus.” Huffed Ghost her arm still linked with Muscle.

“Uhh…yeah! Let’s do it!” Grumbled Muscle.

Tyrant said nothing, instead he opted to stand quietly off to the side, arms crossed, watching and waiting for Cyprus’s plan to come full circle. Then he would make his decision as to whether or not he liked being associated with this type of oddity.

Cyprus hunched over at the controls, viciously typing something in. “Now would be the time to put on your two-way mirror protective goggles.” Laughed Cyprus. Each captain taking Cyprus’s advice and fixing a pair of protective goggles over their eyes, each captain waiting in anticipation as Cyprus pressed the stereotypical large red button.

With that a door on the other end of the test room opposite to Uxie opened up. Tyrant squinted peering into through the small window, but only darkness could be seen. And then…from the darkness two angled blue eyes shone brightly as a ruffled old Alakazam stepped out with two tattered bent spoons in its hand.
“Good, step one is complete…now for step two, the forcing of emotions.” Whispered Cyprus as he rabidly typed away at the controls, **** bent on completing his mission. “There…”

The metal table Uxie was strapped to now angled to face the oncoming Alakazam. As the table angled two lean robotic hands jutted out from the wall taking their respective places on either side of Uxie’s face. At the same time a pointed probe lowered from the ceiling and rested just above Uxie’s forehead.

“Oh Daddy Hurry up!” Screeched and inpatient Ghost.

“Silence! Enough chatter! Now is not the time for your interruptions Ghost.” Demanded Cyprus. Ghost lowered her head in shame.

Tyrant gazed at Cyprus in disbelief. He had never seen Cyprus take that tone with Ghost….his own daughter, his pride and joy. This was a side of Cyprus unknown to anyone, the hard driven control freak.
Tyrant’s thoughts were quickly dispersed as Cyprus pressed another red button. Causing the robotic hands to grip onto Uxie’s eyes forcing them open, at the same time an electric shock was administered from the pointed probe.

Uxie let out a terrible scream “Uxxxxx!” as a rainbow colored swirling light shot from its eyes.
“Wait for it! Wait for it!! N-now Alakazam! Control Uxie’s memory loss ability with Psychic. With Cyprus’s command Alakazam crossed its spoons and its eyes turned red, “Al-ala-Alakazammmm!” Mumbled the weathered Pokémon as the beams from Uxie’s eyes were concentrated into a swilling ball. “Ala-la” mumbled Alakazam struggling to hold onto Uxie’s power.

“Yes! I have done it! The text’s were right! Through a Psychic Pokémon I can control others!” Smirked Cyprus as he pressed another button, stopping the electric shocks and closing Uxie’s eyes.

“Ala-ka” Gasped Alakazam still holding on to Uxie’s power.

“Good work Alakazam Now for the final test. Bring her in.”

A common soldier dressed in a sandy uniform entered the room. Through his protective glasses Tyrant could see that the soldier was not alone, he was leading a shackled girl into the dark room.

From what Tyrant could see the girl was no older than him.“Sir…what-what is she for?” Questioned Tyrant…hoping she was not part of this test.

“You see Tyrant…this girl’s name is Jennifer…she is a Pokémon trainer. And she is about to witness first hand the power of Uxie. Now…if you will Jennifer, be a good girl and take a look through this small viewing window.” Sweetly ordered Cyprus.

Muscle and Ghost stood looking at the girl…wondering if she would comply with their bosses order.
“No…that’s enough. This show has gone far enough” Said Tyrant unfolding his arms and reaching for his ultra ball.

“I don’t think you want to do that Ty ole’ buddy.” Chirped Muscle stepping in front of Cyprus. “Make this easy on yourself, let her look.”

“There is no need to force this innocent girl to loose her memory. That’s not right. Your test is successful, Alakazam can control Uxie’s memory loss ability, don’t go ruining this girls mind in the name of your mad ambitions.” Cringed Tyrant.

“Perhaps your right…it is unfair to damage our bargaining tokens. Tyrant…take this girl back to the other prisoners…then take your men and secure the South entrance like I ordered. It’s only a matter of time before the authorities get wind of our…hostile takeover.” Requested Cyprus.

Tyrant took the girl by the arm and turned to leave. “Oh…and Tyrant I never want to see another outburst like that again…understand me?”

“Sir…” Nodded Tyrant in agreement as he left with the girl.

Cyprus turned his attention back to the test room “That’s enough…disperse the Uxie energy Alakazam.”
“Ala-ka-ka-zam!” Alakazam released the energy, severely weakened it retreated back into the darkness”

“Did-did you see that sir? Tyrant has a bit of rebellion still left in him.” Muttered Muscle.

“Yes…I had hoped that trait was squashed after the last incident. Ghost…you and Gengar keep a close watch on our friend Tyrant…I wouldn’t want him doing something crazy now would I?

“Yes Daddy” Ghost said as she left the room.

“Muscle take your men and set up a perimeter around the Control tower. I plan to move in right away. If everything goes according to plan…with a few more tests I will be able to use Uxie’s energy on a mass level.”

“Yes sir!” Replied Muscle saluting Cyprus and leaving the room.

___________________________________________________________________________

“Th-thank you for getting me out of there.” Whispered the small girl. Now in the sunlight Tyrant could fully see her. She was a bit shorter then him. She was thin, and her white skin was nicely tanned, no doubt from her hard Pokémon training sessions. Her long brown hair gleamed in the sunlight. She began to shiver and her tanned skin goose bumped. Her tattered white t-shirt, pink mini-skirt, and white slip on sandals were not enough to keep her warm in the sunny but cool summer breeze.

“Here…take my flak-jacket. It’s not much but it will keep warm.” Said Tyrant slipping of his flak-jacket and handing it to the girl. “Listen…I need you to do me a favour. I’m going to let you go…I’ll give you back your Pokémon, but in return I need to got tell Officer Jenny. Tell her Baron town is under siege, and it has been taken over by Professor Cyprus…there should be a record on him. Tell her that please…hopefully she will know what to do.

“B-but why would you do this? You work for them…how can I trust you?” Questioned the girl looking strait into Tyrant eyes searching for a hint of a lie.

“Because…I have tested my emotions…I can’t let them do this, it’s not right. Uxie…you…and the other prisoners must be set free. I’m sorry for getting you involved…now let’s go get your Pokémon and get you out of here.” Tyrant said leading the girl into the Pokémon armory.

“Captain Tyrant…what do you need sir?” Asked the soldier behind the desk.

“I need you to leave…you are relived for now. Get out…or I will Crunch you.”

“Uh…yes sir!” Said the soldier, dropping everything and running out of the armory.

“Here.” Said Tyrant unlocking the girls shackles. “Jennifer is it? Get your Pokémon and get out of here.”

“Please…call me Jen” She said looking through the shelves of poke-balls. “Umm…these two! These are mine!” She took two poke-balls marked with small pink hearts. “Thank you so much! I will go tell Officer Jenny…but before I go…what’s your name?”

“Uh…I’m Tyrant.”

“No silly…your real name.”

It had been a long time since someone had asked Tyrant’s real name. He had almost forgotten it. “Umm…I was once called…Rusty.”

“Rusty eh? Nice name.” She said reaching out and hugging Tyrant. “Okay. I’m gonna go now…why don’t you come with me Rusty?”

“Nuh…no”. Said Tyrant pushing her off him. I must stay here…I have to keep an eye on things. You get going.”

“Okay…I will…you take care.” She said as she released a Pidgeot from one of her poke-balls, then climbing on it’s back. “Good bye” She whispered as she took off.

“Yeah you take care too…Jen.” Tyrant whispered to himself as he watched her take off.
