Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

pokemon girls

I really like Jasmine and Misty due to her short shorts..... :D Jasmine has a good hairstyle and has an intelligent personality. I think that May's overall big-headedness and here general dislike of pokemon just turns me off of her. Coming in at honerable mention is Duplica and Sabrina...

Lorelei was pretty nice too. They called her something else on the cartoon, didn't they? Well, all I know is that she was very hot and her boobs were given a lot of screenspace

She was called Prima. I don't know why, but she was.

Meb - after a while, May began to like Pokémon. I think it was at the end of the first Advanced Generation episode. She got used to her Torchic. Or something like that happened. I forget.

1. Probably because Lorelei is another word for Siren (those weird things that'd sing on rocks in ancient Greece and lure sailors to their demise) and they didn't want that reference.

2. Haruka = ditz—we're talking Tsukino Usagi "ditz" here, although her english counterpart May might be a bit smarter. IIRC in the Japanese version she didn't even know what a Pokémon Center was. Not a good indication of girls and Pokémon, I'll tell you that right now.

Eh, I wouldn't know. Since I don't like watching the Japanese versions of shows. I can't stand Japanese voices much. But, that's just me.

And I can't remember the Pokémon Advanced Generation preview (from a while back) very well. So... yeah.

"...am i the only one who thinks it's kinda weird that the pokemon games and tv shows are swarming with teenage girls who are pokemon trainers, but in real life, there are uh.. virtually none... (and i'm talking about 15 and older, mind you...)"

Hey now, I'm 16 (17 in November ^_^ ) and I play pokemon and I've done =fairly= well in some major tournements. Cookieqween is 16 (right?) and is pretty good herself. Hiedi Craig ownz us ALL, and TR Shadow's one pretty good card player. There are others of course, but these are the ones that I've seen play in tourneys firsthand :).

And I still say Cassidy is the coolest poke female ;\

girls are some of the best players out there. i had a haymaker it olny lost like 3 times but it won match after match so 3 loses werent that bad and one was 2 a girl she beat my butt bad. it help that my entire deck had weakness to hers but she was still really good. its a shame more girls dont play pokemon (cause maybe i get a date for once but that doenst matter right now) the point is male or female people should play the game cause a person gender dont mean there you cant be good at a game. im a guy and i sux at magic and there are girls out there much better than me so we guys shouldnt have a monopoly on CCG's. but i think the reasson why most girls wont play tcgs or ccgs is cause they feel it's for dorky pimply face boys (i hate being object to being thought as this i've not seen one ccg player with a face full of pimples ) and they feel grils should be doing girl stuff insted of playing cards or stakeborading ect because of the way they were brought up to act like. i'll take a girl that knows how to have fun orther the prissy ones anyday. and thats my .02 take it or leave it.

Actually, MWW, it's because (1) there's a general disinterest among girls for TCGs/RPGs/whatever because it's not a "girl thing" to begin with, and... (2) when they DO try to get into such things, not only is it discouraged, a lot of guys act like either jerks or they too hard to help said girl.

Thankfully I didn't really go through that, but I've known girls who've been driven away from TCGs (well, okay, Magic) because of guys who pay too much attention to them and almost none to the actual game (in a game, that is).

i feel girls should be treated just like guys in a game no diffrent. when i sit across from some one wether they be white, black, male, female, fat, thin i dont see that i olny see on thing and that thing is JUST ANOTHER VICTIM.

if a guy sees a girl he likes while playing a game of magic i think they should keep it to them selfs till after that game and not make the girl feel weird thats just plain wrong for the guy to do. i mean if a guy was to do something were there all girls he wouldnt want them staring at him would he? and besides tcgs are made for anyone and everyone to play and they should all feel equaly comftable playing regardless of who or what they are.we as guys need to be able to take the 1st step into treating girls in these games with equal respect and not stare at them like its the 1st time we've ever seen a girl before keep that for after the game on your own time. cause the more girls that play the bigger play base we will get and more people you can call up to start a game with if olny we can get by that 1st hurdle. in the near furture i would like to see just as many female players for a card game as there are males. and thats the bottom line cause im monkey_without_wings boy.

Umm... I would. In fact I do things to get girls to stare at me all the time... I have no shame, no inhibitions. Being shy is a waste of time. Now if I could only find a girl that I don't scare away.

ok you would but im sure some people dont like being stared at. i know one guy dont like to have woment stare at thim cause he thinks there making fun of him behind his back.so not everyone like being stared. guys talk staring to a whole other level we let it be know were staring were as girls arent so open about it like we are.

My best friends are female pokemon TCG players and they're the best players I know. A lot better than I am.

And about pokemon girls: I'd say Flannery and Janine (Fuchsia gym leader in G/S/C)

well in that case, that's just the guy's problem. either way, im not like that at all. I tend to be more outgoing and nice and...oh, who am I kidding

Not when (1) the girl's getting all sorts of unwanted attention just because she's a girl, or (2) she's treated like a freakin' rare wildflower and given zero breathing room. It takes all the fun out of it when you don't feel like you really belong there for whichever reason.

hmmm... you got a point there

wow! I guess I dont know anything about girls after all

Hmmm...

Gonna have to go with the whole Jenny/Joy thing... something about a woman in uniform. :p

In all seriousness though, this isn't supposed to be. This was just a silly discussion. For one thing, most of the girls of Pokemon are carbon copies of eachother except for some background differences and usually one defining character feature.Take Misty, Casey, and Duplica. Different looks, different dress, different goals... but all have a gung-ho attitude and a lot of self-confidence... perhaps to much, as they are starting to all act like Ash in drag... *shudders* There are other "archetypes", the shy one, the professional one, etc. The other male characters seem to be better fleshed out. Ash has actually matured. Brock is Brock: an inspiration and role-model to most male players. James sadly may be a goofball, but while his "villaney-ness" has fallen, they have also made him seem a little... nicer (like the episode where Jessie got nuked with Stun Spore and Misty gave james and mewoth the Salveo weed they needed to heal her-James and Meowth both didn't want to try and ambush the "twerps", but Jessie made them). Tracey... was Brock lite, you got me there, and... you know, there isn't a lot of variety in the world of Pokemon, is there?

For all of you freaking out about eh whole Misty-obsession thing (and believe me, there are far worse cases out there), remember that she might be officially older now... In the comics books at least, they established her as being 12. I have been informed that Ash, who was 10 in the beginning, is now 12. Ergo, Misty is 14. Yeah, yeah, big improvement. Also, many of the obsessed were closer to her age originally: Pokemon is 5 years old in the states. When it hit the U.S., I was just 16... and those "disturing" 17 year old Misty fans were... 12, same as Misty. ;) The Pokemon cast are purposely "age ambiguous" as well.

Finally, as I stated earlier, this is just a silly excercise in silliness. The "girls of Pokemon" don't exist: thus they can't have their feelings hurt, they can't reject you, or accpet you. As a dateless wonder myself, I can tell you there is an odd comfort about that. Before I forget, there was a two-part article in the old Pojo Magazine covering the "Girls of Pokemon". It was by Brock, as told by Bret Larwick (who was the GL at our old League).

I think a majority of guys are in that boat. I know I am. The average guy and the average girl have such different styles of thinking, it's not even funny.
