Nintendo has announced that the newest X and Y games have an issue where the game can glitch.

My advice- save your game outside of the town for now until the patch is issued to repair this issue.

Well at least they're proactive. When I first got there I saved outside the pokecenter. Guess I got lucky.

if you have both games, you will have to dl the patch for each game.
