Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Prodigal_Fanboy's 1st Place BR Report! 10/11/09 @ The Port of LA!

I don't think that Cosmic Chaos with be able to compete in the format any longer with your recent Grovyle KeKeKe success.
Soon, the Grovyles will be netdecked even in the Senior division and the once-dreaded Claydol swarm will cease to be top tier once and for all. =[

Lies. Sceptile AoA is clearly inferior - it has a larger retreat cost and lacks the pro tip of Tail Shake which is integral to the strategy of Grovyle Rush:

1.) Intimidate.
2.) Shake your Tail.
3.) Use Slam.
4.) Flip Table.

No room for that Sceptile.

Hmm, I suppose tail shake is pretty important. You could always stick a Memory Berry on there. Using Sceptile's first attack to attach extra energy can also be helpful for table-flipping tech, as the more cards you have in play, the more effective the technique would be. Or so it would seem.

I can't try to argue with the master though.

As long as my Grovyles don't start playing with dolls, yeah. Intimidation + Velocigrovyles + hitting for weakness? Sorry bud. And yeah, Kayle, they'd eat the berry. Then spit it out, cuz carnivores don't fuss with fruits and vegetables.

Dude, you're going to let us know how Cities go, right?

Of course. I'm guessing there will be a tournament, a few rounds, and generally good players will win. And bad kids playing skill-less decks like Dunsparce/Sneasel.

Look for more mildly-offensive and utterly witless reports during Kwanzaa Break, when I will get the chance to actually GO to a tournament, instead of having to make one up.

Prodigial...
I must tell you that Froslass is CLEARLY an inferior tech.
Bibarel has an element to it which allows you to sweep your opponent's Arcanines.
I also think that Bibarel is much better for the intimidation factor of the Velocigrovyles.

Perhaps some testing would be necessary to select the better tech?

Bibarel requires WW to use its attack, not to mention it looks like food to VelociGrovyles.
Whereas a floating ghost is pure intimidation, second only to players wearing bandannas.

However in the situation where a hard game is being played, do you not agree that the Bibarel may provide that extra sustenance necessary to prevail through the arduous hour? Of course in a short game the Velocigrovyles could just eat the beaver anyway as a victory buffet.
With hindsight I do see that the raptors may become slightly fat due to the excessive consumption of blubbery beaver. Perhaps it would be best to put both Froslass and Bibarel in so that Froslass can moderate the waistlines of the raptors?

Perhaps raptors don't care about their waistlines, seeing as there is no raptor media to shove images of anorexic raptors down their throats and subconsciously bias their perceptions of what it is to be a beautiful raptor. That, or they're too busy snacking on Pidgeys and stuff to have any existential angst.

Need I say more? Could there not be an upgrade to the raptor lifestyle?
