Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Professor Cup 2012? Any Info? Who won? Share your love! Share your glory!

Don't know who won, I ended 12th.
I really hope Dan will restrict the use of Archeops for the USA prof cup.
Not to much different decks due to that card.

Dark - Zoroark lots of them
Lightning Eels with Acelgor and sometimes a Hippothing.
Ninetales Cincinno
Eels Cincinno.
And a few Rounds decks, who can function when there is an Archeops in play.
NOT a single other stage 2 deck as far I have seen (but I can be wrong).

Top 8 decks are iirc:
1) Tobias T. - Eelektrik box
2) Richard C. - Excadrill + stuff
3) Silvia L. - Cinccino/Ninetales
4) Robert L. - Excadrill + stuff
5) Anna S. - Zebstrika/Eelektrik + stuff
6) Gawein W. - Zoroark + darkness
7) Matjis M. - Blissey + tanks
8) Doris D. - Cinccino/Ninetales

NOT a single other stage 2 deck as far I have seen (but I can be wrong).
I've seen an Eelektrik/Hydreigon deck, but that didn't do well cause most players teched Archeops.

btw, I've translated my report now (with list).

I wish that whoever is in charge of the Professor Cup (be it Dan or someone else) bans this thing after the European event, as I would hate to see the very spirit of the format, the playing of evolutions, diminished.

I asked Dan to restrict/ban it, but it's up to him.
We discussed about it, because you can also go for a ban of all revived fossils.

The tournament was fun, but it would have been way more fun if Archeops wasn't allowed.
I used Caracosta/Blissey/Tangrowth/Beartic and as long as you flip head you will have a great time with it.

It's interesting, but I'm beginning to have doubts about my earlier post, haha.

Indeed, it would be more fun without Archeops...But it seems like there are ways around it. To have such an easy target on the bench is something many of Archeops's best partners (tank cards) hates.

Perhaps a stage two can make it in this beast of a format...

There was a Seismitoad deck there too and without Archeops it could easily have swept.

I started with Archeops in one game and lost as a consequence.
My 100HP starting "basic" was donked one game before I even drew a card. ( like everyone else I don't like the new rule)

I don't think anyone was undefeated on the day.

Biggest trouble card wasn't Archeops but catcher. - but we all know that anyway.

I ended 11th place (4-2), out from top 8 due to my low tie-breaker.
I did play Round Deck (I love it!) and had a lot of fun.
I totally forgot that archeops could be used in this format, so against that deck it's very hard to play.
I did like a lot the Blissey-Tank deck, very flippy but strong!
It's been a fantastic day, meet all people and Professors from Europe. Many thanks to TPCI staff (Dan, Pete, Dave, Georgia) and Amigo Spiele (first of all Thorsten!) for giving us a lot of fun.
Here's my decklist, obviously you had to fix against Archeops!

4-4 Seimisitoad
4 Wiglytuff

Trainer 36
4 Dual ball
4 level ball
4 communication
4 Juniper
4 PONT
3 N
3 Switch
2 Super rod
4 Catcher
2 Eviolite
2 Heavy ball

4 DCE
8 Water

Good luck to all US Professors!!!

No jigglypuffs or rare candies?

The point of this tournament is that are no basics allowed. Stage 1s act as basics.

How common was espeon as a tech?

The deck I used for the pokegym no basic tournament was a pure eelektric aggceltor deck with a couple consistency techs.

Decks that don't play 3-4 switch have a real difficulty staying ahead. Of course decks that play espeon or have 4 switch usually have an easy time.

Is there any form of trainer lock in this tournament outside of zebstrika?

Gothitelle? I still think that Gardy/Goth has potential in the format. Just sucks that Archeops is so easy to get into play...
