Hello!

I'm a player from Chile and im going on an study abroad program to Santa Fe University. I play a lot of Pokèmon TCG and i'm really sad of leaving the game for six months.

I was wondering if there was a community, league or people who play on this University (or near, on walk distance from the dorms, since I won't be able to bring my car for obvious reasons:tongue:) so I don't lose my practice and habit.

Thank you! And if this is not where this post should be, please move it where it corresponds.

Thank you!

We are having our first ever tournament in Santa Fe today. We hope to have a league up and running soon. I will let you know and please watch the Pokemon website for more info.

There is only 5 us currently that play and Santa Fe. Like said in the above post, we still don't don't have league yet but that doesn't stop us from meeting up and play testing! And with a hour train ride, there are leagues (and fall battle roads 2013) in Albuquerque, NM. Me and my friends are looking forward to meeting you!

Having a group to meet and play with is just what I wanted! And it's great to know it's close to Albuquerque, I hope to meet you soon.

I still don't know whether i'm going on August or January, depends on when the scholaship applies. I'll send you a PM as soon as I know so we can arrange a meeting or something, it'll be awesome if I have people to hang out with as soon as I arrive.

See you there!

Excuse me for hijacking this thread, but I was curious to know more about the vibe in your play group. I'll probably be moving to the area in August or September, and my ~6 year old son is insane for Pokemon. I played MTG pretty heavily for some time, and I'm having a lot fun playing Pokemon with him now. He and I have been playing with theme decks, although I'm going to introduce him to deck building soon. He's a bright kid and pretty good with basic strategy, but he may not do as well piloting a tournament-competitive deck. I'm not familiar with the Pokemon metagame, but if it's like MTG, the top decks are poor choices for younger, less-experience players. Basically, I'm trying to find out if there is organized play in the area where he would have fun, or if he'd just get creamed by competitive players with top decks. I'd appreciate any insight from you guys.

Hey there,

When we talk about tournaments most players are using top tier decks for them. As for Leagues that you can attend the atmosphere is more relaxed and you will find a lot more people playing "fun" decks.

You will find a league that just started in Santa Fe and there are a couple in Albuquerque.

Hello!

I just moved to the dorms in SFUAD. I know I made this post a long while ago but I hope the people who were organizing the league can check this out.

Please tell me when and where you gather to play. I really would love to not lose the practice and i'm really excited to be on a league or attend the prereleases over Albuquerque.

I'll be waiting for your answer.

Thanks!
