Okay, I had this deck in beta form before The Supes posted his “Soviet Engine”. I already had 2-2 Porygon2 so I added a somewhat slimmed down version of the Soviet. You may think this deck has too many Pokemon in it, but read the Strategy before you bash/flame.

    Pokemon: 28

    4 Pachrisu GE

    3-3-2-1 Torterra lv X

    3-2-2 Sceptile

    2-2 Illumise/Volbeat

    2-2 Porygon2

    Trainers/ Supporters: 21

    2 Night Maintinece

    2 Roseannes’s Reasearch

    3 Bebe’s

    3 Celio’s

    2 Scott

    3 Mr. Stones

    4 Quick Ball

    2 Rare Candy

    Energy: 11

    11 :grass:Energy

Instead of a T1, T2 strategy guide I’ve included a priority checklist for playing this deck.

#1. Start with Pachy to get Porygon, Illumese and Volbeat.

#2. Get Porygon2 running on T2!!! This is key to this deck working!

#3. Use Illumese/Pachy To get Treeko T2 and Turtwig if possible.
#4. Ultimate Get-What-You-Want Phase begins, use Volbeat to recycle any Celio’s Or Mr. Stones to power up on the bench. Use Download to get Complete evolutions or energy and evolutions in one turn.

#5. If all goes well you should have Sceppy and Torterra by T3 and be able to hit with Torterra. Continue Downloading to get more energy for Sceppy, as he is your finisher.

#6. Hit for Teh big money with Torterra X on T4.

Okay, I’m done… what do you think? The problems are that you,

    A, never have 2 Torterras

    B, Pory, And vol/illumes are Snipe/Gardy bait

Help?? Should I Play this at States instead of my previously posted Raivire?

I built a very similar deck. I don't think you need the Pachirisu because you have lots of methods to grab Pokemon with Illumise's power, Celio's, Bebe's, and Roseanne's. If you take those out, you will need a few Windstorms to counter Cessation Crystals and Battle Frontiers and maybe run some Crystal Beaches yourself. And removing Pachirisu frees up a bench space for preparing another Torterra.

Also, I play draw supporters like Prof Oak's Visit instead of Quick Ball.

Thanks for the reply but I think I'll stick to my guns on Pachy, the main reason being that any of the other Pokemon in the deck are horrible starters(I could do Turtwig, but its kinda meh) and pretty much all of them are neccesary to keep my strategy going. -4 Quick for Prof Oak is interesting, especially since its re-useable with volbeat.

    More posts plz!!

Illumise only searches for Basics. You might need to change around some of those Evo lines in order to get this thing working right...

Well... yes, if that was the point of illumese but that wasn't my idea. In my strategy Illumese is there merely to activate volbeats poke-power. Its fine if you end up using illumese to get an extra pokemon, but Pachy does just fine with that. Sorry about the confusion, I guess I did put Illumese in my strategy guide, but he's more of a back-up than a staple of the deck.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

However, if you do have suggestions for switching the lines around I would like to hear them. I was considering Meganium MT for the fire-counteratack, but it lacks the obvious power and brawn of Torterra.

Tell me what you think guys!

Im not sure quick balls are such a good choice with all the different pokemon lines in your deck.

Quick Ball is for desperate pokemon searches, Porygon2 and Volbeat insure that I can always get what I want by recycling Celio's.

More Help!! States are drawing close!

More along the lines of, I don't think you need 6 Evo searchers in this deck. You can get by with 4 (Celio) like most other decks, especially with the nice recursion you have going around. Notice that Volbeat puts the Supporters on *top* of your deck, and not into your hand, so you're going to need some straight draw (such as POV), and probably 2 Volbeat in play in order to recurse properly. Stone is an interesting choice here. I'd be a little bit more concerned with your Pokemon getting thrown to the wind in this deck. Magmortar is an INCREDIBLY popular deck choice due to its insane damage potential and almost infinite recursion and recovery abilities. There's got to be some way to lessen the impact on this deck from Mag, Typh, and Ape. Earlier, I was referring to your numbers of evolutions. You can VERY easily go 3-2-3 on both of those lines, and find some way to get 4 Candy into the deck, probably by reducing your Supporters to 2 each. Keep in mind that, even with 4 Pachi here, you probably won't start with him in most of your games with 12 other Basics. Your Basic count is 16, and only 4 of them are truly viable starters. It's quite difficult to get the starter you need when you can't Mulligan out of a not-so-good hand. It's part of the principle that's pushing me to have 6 Starters in my Delusions of Gallantry deck, with 10 Basics total. Work with the ratios as much as you can so that you can maximize your good starts while also maximizing your speed and strength.

Oh, Okay, I see what you meant now. Yes, Mag is this decks worst nightmare, especially since this takes a while to set up, meaning that Mag has ahd plenty of time to get insane power. I really don't know what to do with the Pachy prob unless I'm going to stack my deck (which is cheating:lol:) I don't know how to get pachy and not ruin the strategy. Unfortunatley there isn't a Holon Energy GG like FF and WP:lol: My only idea is to add more playable starters. If I did this does anybody have Ideas?

First of all, I'm honored you're choosing U.S.S.P.C.R.'s Soviet Engine.
Secondly, I agree with Bullados. If you weren't play the Volbeat and Illumise, I'd say go for it, but since you recycle your supporters...

I've been playing with this deck...but I'm considering dropping it, just because of Magmortar's use. This deck does well against Gardy---but pales to Magmortar...I have to say too, I'm deeply disappointed that it is not going well.

Yeah... *Sniff* I wish Mag was some horrible card like beedrill GE, then I could run my Scepterra deck in peace and utilize the awesomeness of Illumese/Volbeat. My only question is: Should I run this deck, or my previously posted Raivire? I could try to impliment the Soviet into it which may make it even faster than it already is (Its uber-fast). The problem is Raivire is Electric(Weak to Gardylade) and Scepterra is grass(Weak to Magmotar), I buy cards whenever I can, but I am somewhat limited. Does this mean I'm doomed to do horribly at states? My only other option is a somewhat weak WigglyRai deck.

I would be immensley grateful for anyone's opinion on this and I will try to post SovietVire:wink: and WigglyRai before too long.

Ehhh. How is one supposed to use a Stage 2 Water Pokemon that really needs Water energy to do any damage into a Grass deck? Not to mention to fit it in there.

I think he meant putting the Soviet into Tsunami, not trying to fit Gator into Scepterra. The only problem being that I don't have the cards nessesary to build Tsunami. :frown: Now that the Lv. X tins are coming out on Feb. 27, I might try to roll with a 'Rai deck and Teh Soviet.

You could play 2 Corsola so that you would the have "6" Pachi =/

Something like, Gastrodon/ Scramble or Gyarados would help against Mag.

    Electipwner New Member

Yeah, the corsola is actually a good idea. I don't know how to fit the anti-mag in though, maybe cut the Roseannes and do a 1-1 line...:frown: These are the times when you wish you could have 70 cards instead of 60. Hope fully I'll have some kind of bad*** deck for Regionals because I'm getting a booster box soon(w00t)
