Sevii Island League "Premier Trainer"?

We ran our first session of the new league last Saturday and it was a great hit with the kids. After reading the Read Me First documents several times, I am stuck on the awarding of the "Premier Trainer "status each week, and I hope someone can help me out or clarify the instructions. First week our player with the most points at the end of the session had 140, so he's the first Premier Trainer. Ok so far. For the second week of this season, do we award the next Premier Trainer status based on cumulative points for the first and second weeks of play in total, or do we count just the number of points earned during the second week of play?

The Read me First says" One Premier Trainer sticker should be awarded at the end of the week to the player with the most points. If the player that earned the most points during that week is already a Premier Trainer, the sticker should be passed to the person with the next highest points." Does anyone know if it is Cumulative points or weekly points? Thanks for any help you guys can give me. I just want everyone at league to be clear so there's no confusion as to why this one got the sticker and this one didn't.

At my league, I track how many points they earned at the league that week. Since the first thing kids want is the attendance stamp I put a date down in the lower section of the book rather than a stamp. At the end of the session, I go through and see who earned the most stamps that evening. That person becomes a premier trainer.

I've been doing it cumulatively, since the person with the most stamps from the first week is ALREADY premier trainer and it would 'drop down' to the next person should they be in first again. So the way I did it tonight was the person with the most stamps in their book (from both weeks) was the newest premier trainer.

Since i was reading the instructions both ways, i emailed and Mike Liesik replied:
The sticker should be awarded to the player with the most points for the week. If that’s too hard to track, feel free to give it to the player with the most total points at the end of the week.

Yeah I would track my League Members points weekly. I would mark a line to show the last stamp they had from last week. Then the next week I will know where to start counting the Weekly Points from, real easy for me. :)

Or you can go to Michaels or any craft store and get a multi colored ink pad. Just use a different color each week. :)

I agree that the Read Me doc could be interpreted either way, and I was concerned about this as well. However, the league books themselves contain the definitive answer. On page 3 "Prize Information" surrounding the Weepingbell, "Premier Trainer Sticker--Score the most league points in one week " (my emphasis)
Mom, have any players (or their parents) disputed your ruling of awarding the sticker on cumulative points?

I think either method will work - I, too, marked the point with a pen where they ended at the first session, so will be able to track who earns the most during session 2. Lots of players did the word search during the 1st session, so those who didn't will be able to get a 'quick 50' points tomorrow :)!

No.

Two players were TIED at the end of week one, with 14 stamps each; they played a game first thing at week two to see who would get the sticker/premier trainer title. The player who lost that game ended up getting 12 stamps in week 2 and was clearly the player with the largest amount of stamps BOTH for that week AND cumulative...so is the week 2 premier trainer.

I'll be counting stamps per week from now on for premier trainer.

Thank you all for your responses to this question! Today, I drew a line with a pen where last week ended and this week began when I stamped for attendance and it was easy enough to track for the second week. "Premier Trainer" status created a lot of excitement among some of the players, so it was great to reward one who was enthusiastic about it! The new league structure is going great!
