Some "Official" news

My best guess, and IMO this is very likely is that:

NATIONALS of each country that has one will have a TRIP (or probably more trips for the USA, like top 4 of each age group)

No trip was expected for City or Stadium...
Nationals of each country?!?!?!?! wow that is new, so u mean that nationals for US is just for US and that there will be Nationals at other countries? such as Mexico, England, Italy etc?

Was there any word on the number of byes for the CC winners at States?

In my opinion it is now too late to change what is already posted on pokemontcg.com, that is, "City Champions receive a first round bye at their local State Championships."

If they change this now, after some (one?) CC has already been played, then they give the impression that they are looking to see who won before deciding how many byes to award. (I'm not saying that this is what's happening, but I'm not saying that it is not what's happening either.)

[email protected] Everyone should e-mail them and argue the free trips to worlds for NCs and SCs! We are all, usually, heavy spenders on nintendo merchandise and not providing trips is blatantly unfair.

Geeze... I hope the intent of the post wasnt the way I read it.
As soon as they announce a format there is a rush to argue with them.
That attitude will not get a positive responce.

I also havent seen info that states they wont pay? (I could have missed something.)

But I still stand on a Give them a chance and help make it better with participation and communication. Arguing wont solve a damn thing

Well, my question would be if CC's are in feb. & March, and St. C in April & May, and Origins will be in June, when are the gym's & stadium challanges & Worlds going to take place?

We could see them after June later in the year. It is nice to think that there could be tournaments planned for most of the year, instead of just once or twice a year. Plus we are seening more being put on the local level with the help of PUI.

good job sensei

Sensei,
Nice job on the info you pulled together. :D I am glad to see nintendo is coming along fast and ill have to wait to hear more on the nationals. i just purchased my ticket forn the tournamnet so i cant wait to see what the format and prize structure will be this year. See ya all ot origins 2004.
Remmeber there are 268 slots for the tournmant so if you want the seat claim it fast because this year niontendo is limiting it and im guessing 50 if them will be reserved for winners of the state tournmant internatinally and nationally. :pokeball:

Everyone, you do realise that Nationals are for each country? That's why they are called Nationals. I don't think they are intended for people outside of the country, although I'm sure visitors can enter...

Ian, when i said the top 4 of each age group, I was talking about the USA... :) And thay is assuming they had no trips for GCs of SCs...

niceness, so i wont have to spend tons of money to go to the US for Nationals, thats really really nice, I really hope i do well in those tourneys :). Do u people have any idea when Nationals info will be released? i guess it will be after the State Champs, but im just too hyped up about Nationals here :).

One update to add:We were told that a Penalty Guideline is being worked on but no time frame was given. So look for it sometime in the near future.:)
