Question, Carrington. When do the Pokemon with the "Spun Incorrectly" Power get returned to the hand? I suggest at the end of the turn -- let them exist one turn, then they're gone. Of course, even that could allow a loss by empty bench -- maybe put in a sentence that turns it off for the Active if every Pokemon on the field would be returned to the hand.

And a note about the Spun Incorrectly Poké-POWER on the Chao: It's a "coming-into-play" Power (which means LC Muk can't stop it), so it gets returned to the hand immediately if it is played like a traditional Basic Pokémon (before any other effect occurs, i.e. no Energy Transferring Energy onto a Chao before returning it). It's a fail-safe against all-Chao decks. They only exist like this because of the wording on the Chao Trainer card that all Chao must evolve from (it has a Poké-POWER that lets it evolve into ANY Sonic-series Basic). With your suggestion, dkates, I'd sense an LC Muk combo that'd keep them in play (a Chaomuk archetype).

Also, Spun Incorrectly does trigger after a revelation by Lt. Surge's Secret Plan, as it most decidedly did not evolve from Chao when it was put into play.

Chao Karate
Trainer card (Supporter)

If, when you attack, your Active Pokémon has Chao in its name, its attack does 10 additional damage for each Energy card attached to it but not used to pay for the attack's Energy cost. (Add damage even if the attack had no base damage to begin with.) You can't add more than 20 damage in this way.

Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Advance Link Cable
Trainer card

Play Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Advance Link Cable to your Bench. (It doesn't count as a Pokémon.) While Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Advance Link Cable remains on your Bench, one Pokémon with Chao in its name does not count towards the maximum Bench size. You may discard Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Advance Link Cable from play anytime.

Memory Card 59
Trainer card (Supporter)

Choose up to 3 Trainer cards in your discard pile. Shuffle those cards into your deck.

Memory Card 251
Trainer card (Supporter)

Choose up to 5 Trainer cards in your discard pile. Flip a coin. If heads, shuffle those cards into your deck; if tails, choose 3 of those cards and shuffle them into your deck (return the rest to the discard pile).

Sonic's Energy
Provides {RBW} Energy

You can only attach Sonic's Energy to a Pokémon with Sonic in its name. While in play, Sonic's Energy provides all types of Energy but provides only 1 unit of Energy at a time. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) If Sonic's Energy is ever attached to a Pokémon that doesn't have Sonic in its name, discard Sonic's Energy.

Tails's Energy
Provides {RBW} Energy

You can only attach Tails's Energy to a Pokémon with Tails in its name. While in play, Tails's Energy provides all types of Energy but provides only 1 unit of Energy at a time. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) If Tails's Energy is ever attached to a Pokémon that doesn't have Tails in its name, discard Tails's Energy.

Knuckles's Energy
Provides {RBW} Energy

You can only attach Knuckles's Energy to a Pokémon with Knuckles in its name. While in play, Knuckles's Energy provides all types of Energy but provides only 1 unit of Energy at a time. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) If Knuckles's Energy is ever attached to a Pokémon that doesn't have Knuckles in its name, discard Knuckles's Energy.

Shadow's Energy
Provides {RBW} Energy

You can only attach Shadow's Energy to a Pokémon with Shadow in its name. While in play, Shadow's Energy provides all types of Energy but provides only 1 unit of Energy at a time. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) If Shadow's Energy is ever attached to a Pokémon that doesn't have Shadow in its name, discard Shadow's Energy.

Eggman's Energy
Provides {RBW} Energy

You can only attach Eggman's Energy to a Pokémon with Eggman in its name. While in play, Eggman's Energy provides all types of Energy but provides only 1 unit of Energy at a time. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) If Eggman's Energy is ever attached to a Pokémon that doesn't have Eggman in its name, discard Eggman's Energy.

red face paint's Energy
Provides {RBW} Energy

You can only attach red face paint's Energy to a Pokémon with red face paint in its name. While in play, red face paint's Energy provides all types of Energy but provides only 1 unit of Energy at a time. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) If red face paint's Energy is ever attached to a Pokémon that doesn't have red face paint in its name, discard red face paint's Energy.

The following are the 9 reprint Trainer cards:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Trainer card

Each player shuffles his or her hand into his or her deck and then searches his or her deck for a number of Trainer cards equal to the number of cards that he or she had in his or her deck. Each player then shuffles his or her deck afterward.

Miles "Tails" Prower
Trainer card

Choose 1 of your Pokémon with Tails in its name. Return that Pokémon and all cards attached to it to your hand.

Knuckles the Echinda
Trainer card

Remove 2 damage counters from all of your Pokémon with Knuckles in its name.

Shadow the Hedgehog
Trainer card

Each player shuffles his or her hand into his or her deck and then searches his or her deck for a number of Trainer cards equal to the number of cards that he or she had in his or her deck. Each player then shuffles his or her deck afterward.

Dr. Eggman
Trainer card

For every Basic Pokémon with Eggman in its name that you have in play, search your deck for a card that evolves from that Pokémon, show it to your opponent, then put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.

red face paint the Bat
Trainer card

For every Pokémon with red face paint in its name that you have in play, draw a card.

Chaos Emerald
Trainer card (Supporter) (You can have up to 7 Chaos Emeralds in your deck.)

For your attack this turn, your Active Pokémon can use any attack from its Basic Pokémon card or any Evolution card attached to it. (You still have to pay for that attack’s Energy cost.)

Power Ring
Trainer card (Pokémon Tool)

Attach Power Ring to 1 of your Pokémon that doesn't already have a Pokémon Tool attached to it. If that Pokémon is Knocked Out, discard this card.

If the Pokémon Power Ring is attached to would be Knocked Out by an attack, that Pokémon is not Knocked Out and its remaining HP is 10 instead. When this effect is triggered, discard Power Ring.

Chao Transporter
Trainer card (Supporter)

Count the number of Trainer cards in your discard pile, then flip a coin. If heads, you may shuffle any number of Trainer cards in your discard pile up to half the number of Trainer cards in your discard pile (rounded down to the nearest card).

The e-Reader strips work a little differently in this expansion. All the data, Pokédex and game data, are in the same strip this time around. (All Pokémon have nonholo versions, especially in the theme decks, coming a bit later. Nonholo versions of holo cards are just as rare as their holo counterparts. This is used to balance the number of holos out.)

Scan the strips of all the Pokémon from this set with Sonic in its name and a character Trainer (from either SA2B set; the G/S and R/S versions of the character Trainer are compatible) to play a new zone with the classic Sonic the Hedgehog 3 feel. Other stages are accessed by doing the same with the Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Eggman, and red face paint cards. (Make sure the e-Reader isn't connected to a Gamecube or GBA title.)

The controls for this stage are as follows: For everyone, A once is jump. B once is jump for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and red face paint; it's Fire Weapon for Eggman.

The secondary controls are more diverse. Double-A/Double-B with Sonic and Shadow depends on which shield is equipped. If Sonic/Shadow doesn't have a shield, a shield is generated for a split second; Water Shield, bounce; Fire Shield, horizontal dash; Lightning Shield, sparks fly with a double jump. (Note: Fire Shield makes user invulnerable to flame, no matter who wears it; Lightning Shield attracts Rings; Water Shield allows user to breathe underwater.) For Tails, multiple presses of A or B allows Tails to fly for a short time (swim in water). Knuckles and red face paint can both glide with A or B in midair. Eggman simply double-jumps with A in midair. All characters can use Down on the Control Pad and rapid presses of A or, except in Eggman's case, B to do the famous spin-dash. Eggman can hold Down and rapidly press B to shoot a special laser.

The Control Pad moves the character, and allows Knuckles/red face paint to climb walls.

Scan a Pokémon (R/S cards only), then a certain Trainer (also R/S cards only), into Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire and you'll get a chance to battle that Pokémon at L5 in Mystery Event. If you capture that Pokémon, you can then teach that Pokémon any move it can't normally learn that corresponds to a type in a card you scanned. The corresponding Trainers and their types are: Sonic the Hedgehog (Water and Ice, R/S Version card only), Miles "Tails" Prower (Grass and Rock, R/S Version card only), Knuckles the Echidna (Fire and Fighting, R/S Version card only), Shadow the Hedgehog (Ground and Dark, R/S Version card only), Dr. Eggman (Normal and Dragon, R/S Version card only), red face paint the Bat (Poison and Flying, R/S Version card only), Metal Sonic (Electric, Bug, and Steel), and Amy Rose (Psychic and Ghost). Scan the certain Trainer alone and you can teach one of your existing Pokémon a move of the types pertaining to the Trainer you scanned. Only one Pokémon per Pokémon card and only one move per certain Trainer each day.

While linked to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, or Sonic Pinball Party, scanning a Chao puts that Chao in the corresponding game's Chao Garden. In addition, Tropical Chao and Arctic Chao scanned into Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg will give a special power to the creature inside the egg.

While connected to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle ONLY, scanning a Boss card and then a character Trainer will allow you to battle the boss as the character. Simply activate Boss Fight Mode and scan the cards in, then select the boss in SA2B and prepare to fight.

The character Trainers serve the same purpose while connected to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, and Sonic Pinball Party as they did in the first set. In addition, the Amy Rose Trainer card can be scanned into Sonic Adventure DX the same way, to allow Amy to play any level.

The R/S versions (except Eggman) have a new use, though. You can scan the card into one of the games in Sonic Mega Collection to play that game with that character. If you scan Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, or red face paint into Sonic 1, you can play Sonic 1 as that character. (Knuckles and red face paint get their gliding ability, but otherwise all characters are the same as Sonic). Scanning Shadow or red face paint into Sonic 2 allows play as that character (red face paint gets all Knuckles's abilities, while Shadow is similar to Sonic.) Scanning Shadow or red face paint into Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, or Sonic 3 and Knuckles allows you to play a "no-save" game as Shadow or red face paint, with the same abilities as with the e-Zones (note with Sonic and Knuckles: the character you scan replaces its Hero Story counterpart on the title screen. Simply scan Sonic (if Shadow) or Knuckles (if red face paint) to get them back while keeping the power on). You can also play as them in Blue Spheres--scan the card and the bumper color will change to the character you scanned, pressing a toggle button will change the character back, so careful!

The six Energy cards in the expansion, when scanned together into Sonic Pinball Party, gives you a new table, which is also compatible with Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire.

The rest of the Trainer cards in the expansion, when scanned into Phantasy Star Collection, adds a new level to Phantasy Star III. Completing this level will yield a bonus Omochao Chao for the Chao Garden, which is saved to the e-Reader (you must transmit the Chao manually).
