Sour Grapes: People who ASKED for concessions.

Oh Pshaw.

Who is the person in Florida? Did he/she cost YOU a trip to worlds?

Say no if someone wants the win after they lost. And be done with it.

SotG is for the most part gone now so you can't do anything to punish or prevent this.

If someone wants to concede then it should be there right to they can't control that you can/cannot concede.

I knew it was Ryan all along.

Seriously though, you can't make it a rule not to be able to say that. yelling OMG FIRE is bad but hey man, wanna sign as a loss? No. Just say no. It's really quite simple.

Should concessions exist? Yes. POP should not encourage concessions, but it should be legal, or else you will have a ton of "under the table" concessions. A ban would do nothing, and make it more difficult for people to actually forfeit when they want to.

Should a player be looked into if he/she received a whole lot of wins based off of concessions, or if he/she was reportedly going around begging a LOT of people for those wins? Most definitely.

What Steve seems to be hoping for is a flat solution, but it's virtually impossible to do that. Case-by-case basis is the only legitimate way for POP to solve problems of collusion, etc.

If someone would ask me to concede to them just so they could win an invite, I'm going to flat out ignore them because I think that's completely stupid for them to ask me that. I literally have no respect for people who want easy wins just so they could get a shot at Worlds. Usually the people who ask for concessions from my perspective are complete morons because they don't even care about you, or anyone but themselves. I would know since I've seen stuff like this before.

the only time i did a concesion was for my sister at jacksonville city's
i had no losses, and was condifent i wouldnt get any
in the mean time, i wanted my sister to get in, so i scooped vs her
she lost her next round match, and i went undefeated until top two

This is one of the most idiotic threads I have ever seen on the Gym.
You play to win or not at all. Do or do not, there is no try,
You do not play to win and then sign a slip saying otherwise. If you want to concede, then don't even show up.
This is one of the reasons I am leaving this game after 8 years. With my 1500 (or maybe less) ranking and I beat someone over 1800 and they ask me to concede? Ha, Ha. I'll sign it in the brightest color pen available, say good game, and offer my hand!

You probably don't have any business playing pokemon(or any game for that matter..) if something like that could deter you from the game, even a little bit.

I don't see why you would feel so vengeful over a simple request, you don't have to say yes, so just move on.

I think some people view it as an insult.

If it is any of your business, I play Pokemon for fun, and because I am competitive. You are probably one of the ones looking for the free ride..."Can I have the win?"
I'm sorry, that makes me sick.

You put words in my mouth, ect.

As Cyrus said it, yeah chances are you will encounter at least one person in your pokemon playing career who asks for a concession so there no use getting bent out of shape from it.I realize your issues with the game go much deeper than opponents asking for concessions, but someone asking simply for you to concede should not be one of them.

I remember at one of my Battle Roads or something, one of my opponent's donked turn 1ed me. He offered to give me the win because he was very low and I was fairly high rated. I ignored him and signed the slip that I lost.

It's obvious that Beatlerat has more reasons to not want to play anymore than this. This could be just only one of many things.

However, Beatlerat just put words in Moltres' beak =x. All he's saying is that it's an inevitable thing that exists in the game, and someone out there is doing it. There's no way we can prevent everyone from conceding games, so there's no use in getting mad over it (unless of course concession evolves into collusion).

Fixed.

IMHO, there is nothing wrong with accepting a concession. Or for that matter offering one.
But when you ask for one, because you think you're going to lose to a lower ranked person, then that's wrong.
If you're high ranked, you should be able to beat most of the people you play against, particuarly the lower ranked ones (either they're bad, or simplely out of practice). Sure you could get donked, and that happens a lot. But take your losses like a man (or very strong woman) and go undefeated the rest of the season.

Anyway, as long as you don't ask for a concession, I beleive there is nothing wrong with them.

Btw, OMG, Patriarch is Cyris now :X
