or hyperbole, or exageration. If someone is going to make a negative comparison they should make sure that their facts are correct. Just look to politics for what happens when there is a constant repetition of what is thought to be true rather than what is actually the case.

FWIW I don't believe that "My Battle Roads are larger than your Nationals 90% of the time." meets your definition to be a figure of speech. just what is the specialized meaning? Words can mean what they say, English is a literal language too that is capable of making clear statements.
