Okay, I heard that WotC was supposed to release a 4th Pokemon-e set. It was something like Jamboree. I cant remember. Anyways, my question is if the set was released in Japan, even though it was never released here due to the change of companies.

Nope. It was a WotC set that got cancelled.

Specifically, a set of cards designed by WotC.
While they will never see the light of day, I'm told that some of the effects and mechanics of the cards have started to show up in the EX cards.

Well the cards were legally owned by Nintendo (even though Wizards made it themselves). I wouldn't put it past Nintendo canibalizing them (in a good way) to produce the EX cards. ... In fact, that might be why the EX sets are SO good :D

If I remember the conversation with MTM correctly at Origins, Jamboree was going to have about 30% Vending, 30% WotC made, and 40% something (sorry can't go that far back in memory). It really was a shame that these cards were never made. Well good luck with WotC's Neopets, Simpsons, and Risk 2210.
