Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The Top 16

I really dont expect blaz or gardy to be used that much. There is just too many better choices out there.

One being Magmar/Hoppip.

Magma?

I don't know what the ultimate breakdown was, but I'll bet nobody expected Team Magma decks to sweep all three divisions.

Too bad none of us even THOUGHT to mention team magma. That thing was Fast, evil and pretty much put us to shame :( The ultimate "tech" deck that hits when it looks like it can't. The only player who had anything for it was Chris P. Great job and great deck. Too bad your Blazes ended up where they did in the finals :( Bellossom was genious!

Kudo's to our friends in Japan! Wonderful people who sure can play Pokemon. And a nice, friendly culture of people that truley understand the word RESPECT. I had the best time Sunday attempting to trade cards with them ( language barrier). They had great stuff and were always fair to me. What a great event it was!

What in the world did those team magma decks have in them to win worlds?!
Please tell me it's not TM Houndoom...... please?!

Nope... Wasn't Houndoom.

The decks kicked ..... and will continue to. Only one card (Underground ???) wasn't from R/S on...

Decklists will be popping up soon (probably after the boards reopen)

Conventional Wisdom said:
Everything has been discovered.

Not to crack on the person who posted these words at all, because it is what the highly experienced players have been thinking.

Slaking/Gorebyss, Wailord EX/Amphy, BlazEspKing have surprised people this tourney season (did YOU earn an invite to worlds with your BAR/Rambo/Gardy...? surprise but two of these decks did). This is a small counter to the conventional wisdom.

However, I'm grateful to the Japanese players for coming and so much they shared with us. One major item was the destruction of the above quoted proverb with the TM Groudon deck.

Congrats to all the players & all the winners!

And, as I heard several in the main event hall say, Wait 'til next year!

I can't find the post, but I predicted

15+ - Magma deck
11-14 - Magma deck
10- - Magma deck

When I find it I'll post a link to it.

Man, I'm a GENIOUS!

I am so happy. Really I am. Alot of people on this board took it upon themselves to list what would and what would not win worlds, or come in the top 16. I, on the other hand, decided not too because I knew it was pretty stupid. I feel it cost people matches when they were pit against decks that they had greatly underestimated and thus not prepared for. I feel that if nobody had underestimated or overestimated certain decks, the americans would have done alittle better.

But I guess there is next year. I just hope people don't start making excuses for why the japanese sweeped Worlds like how they were lucky or how they stalled out alot.
I know for one thing, I'm going to try to earn myself a spot in worlds by next year. And I hope everyone else pushes themselves to become greater aswell. Maybe next year, the united states can sweep worlds.

Wait....I believe I heard that next year's Worlds will be held in Japan. That will be quite expensive to buy a plane ticket to.
