Tornadus and Nature (PLEASE HELP)

My friend has been trying to catch a Tornadus w/ Naive Nature for 18 hours... he has a Munna with Synchronize w/ Naive nature in the first slot...

Everytime he catches the Tornadus it has a Naughty nature... He has been at it for 18 hours straight and has caught it countless times...

He is using soft reset ...

Why is it always the same nature?

The only thing I can think of is that he has attacked it down to a red HP bar and has it paralyzed from previous battles and saved after, is that the problem?

The Tornadus (like other roaming legends) has its stats set when you first encounter it, including nature.

To reset, you have to actually KO it, and then (I BELIEVE) defeat the Elite 4 again to cause it to roam the world again.

I don't know whether or not Synchronize actually helps; it's been a while since I worried about roaming legends. Serebii or Bulbapedia are probably good places to check.

Tornadus is one of those Pokemon that once you "release" or "activate it- the nature is set.
For future reference, you will need to save inside the house before you walk out. You'll then need to hunt down Tornadus without saving, at all. Period. Do not save! Once you encounter Tornadus, catch-check- Soft reset if you need to. You will start out inside the house, ready to chase again.
Synchronize does not work at all.
