Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK South East Challenge 28 September 2003

From the "deck format" printable thing:

All cards are legal as soon as they are released somewhere in the world. Unless specified by TO’s before a tournament.

Seeing how Sandstorm is due on the 22nd of September in the US, would this mean it was legal for play on the 28th (assuming we could get hold of them!)?

Ben (the TO) has already stated elsewhere that Sandstorm will be legal if it is available for at least one week before the 28th.

So unless some product gets released and shipped in moderate quantity it seems unlikely that Sandstorm will be present in London.

The UK distributors just keeps telling us that they are expected 'next week'. :( Much like with WotC the UK has NO idea when or if product might arrive :( :(

SO if you do get some product in time for the 28th make sure that you let Ben know. He will probably want some for himself too ;)

I can confirm that unless Sandstorm is released in the UK by the 21st September that it will NOT be allowed in the Tourney.

But that doesn't stop you showing off between games with some of the cards if you have them ;)

Got any Target stores over there?? It seems they are selling Sandstorm a week prior to the official release date! J/K :D

Target .. over here they are a parcel post company that are known for throwing the parcel over your back gate if you're out!

Thinks do they have an internet site.. click

Another question. Will we be using WoTC rules or Nintendo rules?

I ask because it would be good practice to get into the practice of using Nintendo rules. And I'm not just saying that because I *love* the new 30 HP for self-hitting on confusion but no coin flip to retreat. I also like the first-player-skips-first-card-draw rule, and the only 1 extra card if you get a mulligan rule. The one-retreat per turn thing is a great help against decks that used to rely on that in the past, too. Go, go, Nintendo ruling!

this event will be 8 rounds of age modified Swiss using the Nintendo Rules and Rulings BUT will not include 2 on 2 battles.

I thought I had put it in here somewhere!

It's on the first page ;)

Neo Genesis onwards (except possibly Sandstorm)

A week and a half to go and I STILL haven't played a game against anyone in school... >_< I'm starting to wonder WHY the Harry Potter TCG failed if so many people enjoy it, at least here..
Have sorted out all the stuff I'm taking to London, and it can all fit in my backpack (so long as I don't add anymore stuff) and I can still lift it XD so I'm ready to go as soon as I get off the plane... and find my dad at the airport. 0.o (and go and see David Blaine, hehe)
Actually, I wish it would hurry up and be the 26th already, I can't be bothered with the next week and half of school. ^^;

Okay Guys and Gals as some of you have been asking me on email to confirm the format .. her eit is again it is:

Modified as you know and love it now .. that is Neo Gensis onwards including Legendary Collection and Southern Islands and promo's from 21 onwards.

Sneasel, Slowking remain banned along with Ancient Mew and Birthday Pikachu.

Ruby and Sapphire cards are also allowed but NO SANDSORM

The Rules will be Nintendo based so refresh yourselves on them at:

The clock is ticking 1 week to go to SE Challenge 4 ..

One week to go.Shaun and myself are well revved up for it.It looks like I will be bringing two other Norfolk league players with me so will probably not be able to pick up the Italian contingent from Stanstead if they come!

So since we wil be playing with a mixture of old and new here is how the interaction between Pokémon Powers, Poké-POWERs and Poké-BODYs will be rulled.

On the old Wotc cards without the Poké-BODY/POWER distinction. The Pokémon Power will be classified as a Poké-BODY if it IS NOT SHUT DOWN BY SPECIAL CONDITIONS. Thus the majority of old Pokémon Powers will be classified as Poké-POWERs for rules intepretation.

NO Sandstorm in Play at this Tournament but some may appear in Prize Pile for last place maybe? Spaghetti shapes and a Sandstorm booster ... maybe ;)

We will have Ruby and Sapphire and Sandstorm for sale at SE Challenge 4 get it while it is hot!!

*wibbles*

Only hours to go, my first ever time at a proper Pokémon leaguey-type thing! I can't wait, its just me and my best mate coming... I'm taking my deck, a few trades (incl. 2x Raichu EX) and my nearly-complete R/S set (all it needs is one more card ;))...

Oh, and some money...

Is there anything else I need to take?

That should do it Android 17a, I have tested Laptop, reporter and printer all a functioning so at least we can play... Goodies in the car and prizes ready... Lucky dip loaded yep SE Challenge is definitely go in T minus 10 hrs 44 mins and counting..

Good Luck to everyone attending!

It sounds like it is going to be a really good event! :D

Take Care,

Skywolf1

I like that definition.
