Umbreon & Espeon Gold Star Odds

What are the odds of pulling Umbreon or Espeon from a POP Series 5 booster pack? Is it the same as other Gold Star cards (roughly 1 in 108 from what I've heard)? People seem to pull them quite often on Youtube. The last Umbreon for auction ended at about $90. I've got the Espeon but I need the Umbreon and I'm wondering if I should try to buy it or get some packs. I don't care about the other cards in the set really. Thanks!
 
Id say you would be better off getting the single instead...
However, if you are a gambler (like me) :lol:
You could spend the same amount of money that you would on the single, and you could buy packs with that to possibly get 1+
 
Buy the single. Odds of getting a * in the packs are very low, and getting the one you need out of two will be twice as hard. Since POP5 packs are actually fairly expensive, you're definitely better of just buying the card.
 
Yeah they are about 1/30-40 packs they ebay for a pretty penny for collectors items.
I have seen them go for $40+ depending on when they are sold.

last time I checked they were 40-50 guess the demand went up?
 
Yeah they were $40-50 a couple years ago. Recently they have been more but it depends on the seller/buyer.

Anyway, thanks for the answers guys! I've only seen one place with packs and they are $4.99 which is too much for what will most likely be 2 common cards. I will just have to be patient.

I guess there were different odds in different shipments then. I was counting back then and they were 1/10-15 packs at the 3 leagues I went to. Back then about half of the league players around here had at least one of them. I even had 5 of each Umbreon and Espeon because they were so easy to pull around my leagues.

You had a glitched shipment.

Card's aren't $80/ea and uber sought-after if they're 1/15 packs.
 
I had the same thing too at league, after getting 15 packs, but I don't think that defines the probability completely. I mean is there a POP Pack booster box? It's a little harder to calculate the probability without.
 
Being a League Owner who had quite a bit of supplies left over well after those seasons, the one in forty I gave is pretty accurate.
 
Some sites say they were randomly inserted in packs. That is probably pokemon lingo for really rare. Wayne I think 1 per 40 packs sounds reasonably accurate. I have seen more and less. Unfortunately I don't think I can bring myself to spend more than $70 for the Umbreon.

Well if all 3 leagues I went to can have "glitched shipments" then I guess you're right. But the odds of that happening are quite high, don't you think? If there were 3 seperite glitched shipments then the odds are there were others, corrent? Does anyone know (or are allowed to say) what order shipments are done in? If they have seprate "lots" of packs going to each area then that would explain what happened. If not then I'll just assume that different shipments of POP5 had completely different odds.

And how easy cards are to get doesn't always effect what they are worth. Look at the Japanese Charizard ex that came from a starter deck and Pikachu M Lv.X that came from a $20 gift set. They were released at a pretty cheap price but went for $50 each almost immediately.
