    2007-2008 City Championships
The 2007-2008 Pokémon TCG City Championships are the first event in the Championship Series, culminating at the 2008 World Championships in Orlando, Florida. Each City Championship is part of a title event series where players in each of the three POP-recognized age divisions (Junior, Senior, and Masters) compete to earn the title of Champion! These events will be held in hundreds of cities across the world. Results of the City Championships count toward your Premier Rating, so get ready to light up your city!

    What are the prizes?

Prizes are awarded to the top 4 players in each age group.

    Our age groups are:

Junior Division: Born 1997 or later

    Senior Division: Born in 1993, 1994, 1995, or 1996

Masters Division: Born in 1992 or earlier

Participants will receive an exclusive City Championships promo card and a commemorative pin, while supplies last..

Top 4 finishers in each of the three age categories receive the following prizes:

    1st Place

    18 Pokémon TCG booster packs
    A City Champion medal
Prize kit containing cool Pokémon merchandise!

    2nd Place

    10 Pokémon booster packs

    3rd & 4th Place

    4 Pokémon TCG booster packs

The tournament is run using the Modified Constructed Format and Age Modified Swiss pairings. See the Pokémon Tournament Rules for information about the Modified Format and Swiss. The number of Swiss rounds run will depend on total attendance at the event. Age groups with at least six, and less than twelve players will have a top two single elimination final. Age groups with twelve or more players will have a top four single elimination final.

The sets legal in the Modified format have recently been updated. Please make sure you’re ready with a legal deck by reviewing the legal sets for the Modified Format here. please visit http://www.go-pokemon.com/op/premierevents/championshipseries/city/info/07-08/answers.html

The City Championships series will have a K-Value of 16. For more information on how the K-Value affects your Premier Rating, please see the Ratings and Rankings FAQ.
