POKÉMON 2015 - 2016 VGC: PREMIER CHALLENGE (Sceptile Series) #1 Game Castle, Londonderry NH

LOCATION: Game Castle, 123 Nashua Road, Crossroads Mall, Londonderry NH 03053

DATE: Saturday, November 21, 2015

TIME: Onsite Registration 12:00 noon - 12:45 PM (Be certain to allow yourself time to complete the Team Registration Form if you do not bring one with you) Premier Challenge Event will begin at approximately 1:00 PM. Length of event will depend on attendance per age division which determines the number of total rounds.

FEE: $10.00/player – CASH ONLY – All Age Divisions

Players with any level of experience are welcome!

** I have posted a very comprehensive document for this event due to the fact that this is the first event of this kind that I have run in NH. Please review so that you know what to expect. **

REQUIREMENTS:

• Your Play! Pokémon Player ID#. Be certain that your account is activated and you have opted into Player Rankings to be awarded Play! Points and Championship Points.

 If you are 13 years old and older you may sign up for your own Pokémon Trainer Club account at www.pokemon.com Make sure to make note of your username & password so you can log back into your account. Once you have completely set up the Pokémon Trainer Club account, please log back in and go to your Play! Pokémon Settings page and either add a Play! Pokémon Player ID# you received at a previous event, or have a number assigned to you.

 If you are under 13 years old, you MUST have your parent set up a Pokémon Trainer Club account in his/her name first and then use the + ADD Child button to set up the Pokémon Trainer Club account for you as the child. Once that process is complete, then your parent can get you the Play! Pokémon Player ID# at your Play! Pokémon Settings page.

AGE DIVISIONS: (As of 7/13/15 - 2015-2016 season)
Junior Division - born in 2005 or later
Senior Division - born in 2001, 2002, 2003, or 2004
Masters Division - born in 2000 or earlier

PRIZE SUPPORT:

• Play! Points and Championship Points earned are for the 2015-2016 Season. For more details see the chart and information at this link: http://www.pokemon.com/us/play-poke...emon-tournaments/earn-championship-points-vg/

• Minimum of Top 4 Players in all 3 age divisions (depending on attendance) will receive prize support provided by the Premiere Tournament Organizer (PTO) which is supported in part by the entry fees.
PARTICIPATION AWARD: Players who attend Pokémon Premier Challenge Events with this PTO at Game Castle, Londonderry NH throughout the 2015-2016 Season, will be entered into a randomly drawn PTO Sponsored Participation Award. This is how it will work:

• Attend a Premier Challenge Event and play through to the minimum of final standings in your age division. If you drop from this event you will not earn participation credit.

• Bring a friend who is attending one of these Premier Challenge Events for the first time and you will earn an additional entry for yourself for each qualifying friend(s).

 In order to qualify, the friend MUST have a Pokémon Trainer Club activated account with a Play! Pokémon Player ID# set up prior to registering for this event.

 Your friend(s) will earn 1 entry for attending this event however they will also earn an additional entry at the following event.

 It is the player’s responsibility to notify me at the registration desk if you fall into this category.

 I will verify with my previous event files and add the player to the current event file.

• Bonus Entry for Sceptile Series: Bring a Complete, Legal and Legible Team Registration List with you that you have created prior to entering the venue, and be in the registration line before 12:20 PM. (Bonus Entry is subject to change per series.)

• Series Participation Award Qualifications:

 In order for the Series Participation Award to take place the total attendance for the series must reach at least 100 players. (Exception - Sceptile Series – Must reach 40 players since I am running only 1 event for this series.)

 For every 100 players per series there will be one Participation Award drawn randomly from all qualified entries. (All age divisions combined)

 If series attendance (Sceptile Series: September – November 2015) reaches 200 or more there will be two participation awards drawn randomly from all qualified entries. (Exception – Sceptile Series - Must reach 80 players since I am running only 1 event for this series)

 The Participation Award(s) for the Sceptile Series is from Pokémon Center.com

 The Participation Awards will be drawn and presented for all 3 Series at the Pokémon TCG & VG Regional Championships – New England event which will be held in May 2016. A Participation Award will only be awarded to you if you are present to accept it. If the person whose name is drawn is not present, another name will be drawn until the name of a player is drawn who IS in attendance.

 BONUS PARTICIPATION PLUSHIE AWARD(S) – If the total of participation entries at my Premier Challenge Events (November 2015 – May 2016) reaches 1000 players, I’ll award a BONUS PARTICIPATION AWARD to 1 player in each age division and it will be a plushie which I will choose from Pokémon Center.com.

POKÉMON VIDEO GAME TOURNAMENT RULES

Players are responsible for understanding and following the Play! Pokémon Rules in their entirety. Pokémon General Event Rules and Play! Pokémon VG Rules and Formats.

Highlights from the above documents are outlined and abbreviated below for quick reference.

GAME VERSIONS ALLOWED in Standard Format: ONLY legitimate versions of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire can be used in Play! Pokémon tournaments. This includes Game Cards and downloadable versions of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

GAME SYSTEMS ALLOWED: Players may use any system in the Nintendo 3DS™ family of systems during the event. This includes the Nintendo 3DS™, Nintendo 3DS XL™, and Nintendo 2DS™.

CHARGER: Players are responsible for bringing a charger that is compatible with their system and keeping their system charged for the duration of the event.

GAME PATCH and UPDATES: Players are responsible for ensuring their version of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire has the latest game patch downloaded prior to the start of the tournament.

TEAM RESTRICTIONS:

 Players may only use Pokémon that are legal for the tournament format.
 Players are responsible for ensuring that their team adheres to any restrictions set forth by the tournament format and the Official Pokémon Video Game Tournament Rules (see link listed above).
 A Player’s Battle Box may be checked at any time for illegal Pokémon. Any player who fails this check may be immediately disqualified and be unable to participate in the tournament.

TEAM REGISTRATION LIST:

 At Premier Challenge Tournaments Battle Boxes are not locked electronically therefore players are responsible for legibly and legally completing a physical “Team Registration List” at the time of onsite registration.

 A Team Registration List is attached as a document to this email for you to print, complete and bring with you. **(If you would like one of these, email me at the address listed at the end and request one. I'll reply and attach the document for you to print) Paper copies will also be available onsite.

 A player’s team must be placed in the Battle Box, and the team must match this team list at registration and during the tournament.

 Once the Team Registration List has been turned in, a player may not remove or move any Pokémon or items from the Battle Box.

TIME LIMIT FORMAT: Tournament Staff are responsible for running a timely event. We are dedicated to working very hard to accomplish this. We appreciate your cooperation to help reach this success.

 Swiss Rounds 15 minute Single-game matches. The number of Swiss Rounds is determined by attendance per age division and will be announced at the Player Meeting.

 Top Cut Rounds Best of 3 Matches – Each game in the match will be 15 minutes. The number of players and rounds in Top Cut is determined by attendance per age division and will be announced at the Player Meeting.

POKÉMON VIDEO GAME TOURNAMENT FORMATS:

STANDARD FORMAT STYLE:

 All sanctioned Pokémon video game tournaments require players to assemble a team of Pokémon, with items, prior to the start of the event.

 The Standard Format is the standard tournament format for all Play! Pokémon Premier video game events. Standard Format for all Play! Pokémon Premier tournaments is the Double Battle.

 Double Battle Each player selects four Pokémon from his or her party of six to battle with. At the start of the battle, players send out the first two Pokémon in their party, making a total of four Pokémon on the battlefield. Game play continues until a player makes all four of his or her opponent’s Pokémon faint.

STANDARD TEAM CONSTRUCTION RULES: When building a team for a Play! Pokémon tournament, all players must adhere to the standard construction rules which are outlined in detail in the Play! Pokémon VG Tournament Rules & Formats section 9 page 7.

THE FOLLOWING POKÉMON MAY BE ON A PLAYER’S TEAM: Players may use Pokémon from the National Pokédex, from Number 001-719, that are caught in the game, transferred from a previous Pokémon title, or received at an official event or distribution.

OTHER PREMIER EVENT STANDARD FORMAT TEAM CONSTRUCTION RULES:
 Pokémon must be placed in the Battle Box.
 Pokémon are allowed to Mega Evolve.
 Pokémon may not hold the item Soul Dew.
 Pokémon above Level 50 are permitted, but they are auto-leveled down to 50 for the duration of the battle.
 Players may use Pokémon with Hidden Abilities.
 Players may use items that have been officially released via Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, the Pokémon Global Link, or an official event or promotion.

BLUE PENTAGON: Pokémon used in the Standard Format must have a blue pentagon in the Pokémon summary screen. This indicates that the Pokémon was caught during regular game play, hatched from an Egg, obtained within the game, or was officially gifted in either Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.
