For those unfamiliar with the card, it was originally intended to be distributed as a Promotional card in the Nintendo magazine that was issued around the time that the original Team Rocket Pokémon TCG set was released. The promo was delayed for what was an unknowed reason at the time. It turns out that the card had been printed without any HP! The stock of the card was to be destroyed and new cards were printed to be given as promos in a later issue of NP.Within the last couple of years, the card had been selling on eBay in the low double digits (US$20.00 or so) primarily because of a seller that had access to a relatively large number of the cards and was selling them on a regular basis. It is presumed that this seller had access to the card at the printing plant because WotC representatives had destroyed most copies of the card that they had in their posession. Once this seller ran out, the card has been scarce and seldom seen on auction sites.

An auction for another card is ending shortly ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50319&item=5951901618&rd=1 ) and is currently closing in on $500.00. Even a Base Set Error Diglett (with the sideways energy symbol) has sold for $50.00.
It's good to see that not just new cards are selling for high prices.

Well THERE goes my chances of EVER getting one... NOT at those prices...

What about the Holy Grail of them all? The one that does not exist...
