Also, I have a question. Is there any way I will be able to sign up for a Play! ID at the event? Or would I need one prior to playing? My local league doesn't have any player registration cards at the moment, and I would really like to get one so that I can become a professor again.
 
I can get you ID'd up in Warrenton. If you have a really old one, it was probably purged from the TPCi database if it's been inactive for a while.
 
Just a heads up, I haven't used my POP ID since '08, but I was told by my friends that if I contact The Pokemon Company customer service, they can reactivate my original POP ID and link it to my Pokemon account. I would recommend contacting them soon.
 
totoro would know more than me on the topic, but I did not think any ID numbers were "purged" but what likely happened was you were opted-out of the website permissions.

Your old ID is still usable if you would still like using it for whatever reason. An ID can act independantly of the My Pokemon Account but this means you do not get player rewards, do not show up on the rankings, cannot review your league/tournament history, can't run league or tournaments.

Posted HERE is an announcement on Virginia Pokémon about this. It applies to all players. Within the last 2 years (posted on June 2, 2012), if you have not logged into pokemon.com and agreed to the new terms of service, you were most likely opted-out of the permissions. It doesn't require getting a new ID but more like you need to "wake up" your account. You will also need to agree to other permissions relevant to what you want to do with your account. If you play games on your account, you need to agree to the games terms; if you want to be in player rewards and the ranking system, you have to agree to those terms, etc.
 
Nope, they were purged. My daughter's original ID is now gone for good. She needed a new ID for her to log in to the website for travel to Nats last year.
 
Looking forward to this weekend. If it was colder I would do some sort of player styled shenanigans, but perhaps if I play in any cities or Philly's regionals.
 
TeaAndCookies I will be running deck checks and judging at VA Beach event as the younger of the two judges be sure to say "Hi." If you're a leaguer at the VA Beach location you've probably already met me however.
 
Wait, wait. There is another league in virginia beach? I attend the one at Atlantis, if there is another one I should know about because the attendance there is rather low.

I didn't think that they had a league there anymore, but I haven't checked in a year or two, I could be mistaken.

Final Autumn BR is this Sunday at Hobbytown, USA, in Virginia Beach. There WILL be a Japanese Keldeo deckbox giveaway... someone WILL win this item! In addition, if there are 44 or more players in attendance, I will throw in a FULL set of matching Keldeo sleeves. These were purchased directly from the Pokémon Center, Tokyo, by yours truly last summer! Great reason to come..... plus, it's the BEACH! :thumb:
 
First time event attender, and overall PTCG newb where I lose a lot, but I just love to see others play and have a chance to play. I usually play at the Newport News ACE on Saturdays with my 6 year old. I'll be bringing him along. He's a bit on the hyper-active/forgetful side, and he's been looking forward to this all week long.
 
Don't forget your player ID. I won't have any way of retrieving it if you haven't played in any of my events before. Of course, I can issue new IDs, but that makes league leaders (and TPCi) go a little bananas.
