How many GOOD Wailord decks you saw to not geting Top8? In Findland, Hyvinkää we got 2 Wailords in seniors (32 players) and both get top 8.
How Many deck can hit 110 Every turn?

    1. Broken means either play it or lose to it so its not Broken

    2. Which deck won the event?--was it Wailord

    3. 4 energy for 60: thats like 1 energy for 15 damage on a stage 1

    4. After gallade 2 shots a Wailord you are out of energy

    5. How many states/cities/BRs has it won

    6. uhh.....! COOKIES!

(Not trying to be mean just my 2 cents)

Wailord is almost as broken as Torterra .

Yeah, dude, it is a weak and slow card. Healing is a bad strategy. Just doesn't get you anywhere.

I actually like Wailord. It's not bad if you build it right. If you're running Holon WP it can be a major pain in the ***. Gallade will have to do a TON of work just to kill ONE. Not to say I think Wailord can beat Gallade much, but it's some fun to be had that I think could actually be fairly viable.

You need to give torterra more credit.

    1. I've never losed with Wailord if i've get a normal start.

    2. GG, because both of Wailord players lost without luck.... They taked our basiks out T2 and that's it. Wailord won every game if it started well.

    3. And 200 HP means that i have time for load 3 energy to each (DREs).

    4. Gallade can't use Sonic Blade because Wailord Plays Holon Energy WPs so yes, Gallade can 2HKO ONE of my Wailords (1. Psychic Cut 50 (DRE) 2. Psychic cut 170(all prizes over because Wailord's Leftovers heals 1 and if Wailord uses 1 Potion Gallade can't even 2HKO) If my opponent 2HKO my Wailord i can put something like Wailmer to my aktive pokemon, give him an Water and load a water to my benched Wailord, then SSU/Warp/Give it fall the active and come with Wailord least 2 energys attached (WP and Water) Then GG can hit 50-60 to it and i can heal (without Potions used) 20-40 damages in a turn and give my opponent my sleeps with Xatu.

    5. How many good players have played it?

BTW, I also have GG and i think it's not as powerful as Wailord. Gallade can do massive damage once, Wailord can bring in massive HPs like 6-10 to Game (4 Wailrods, 2 NM and 4 SSU)

Can you pull WP + water out faster than your opponent pulling out gallade w 2 energies?
  9. Ra2xse

    Ra2xse New Member

As fast as my opponent pull's 1/3 Fightings and Candy and Gallade, he have to pull 1 card more, and who said that it should be the firs Wailord with WP+Water? I play 4 WPs, so Gallade may Sonic Blade the firs Wailord (who haven't any energys) and then comes Wailord with energys that Gallade haves to take out without Sonic Blade and Wailord can SSU the guy with 50 HPs Left.... Yeah, Wailor pulls easier 1/4 St1 + 1/4 Energys + 1/6 energys... than Gallade 1/4 Candy + 1/4 DREs + 1/3 St2 and or 1/4 Candy and 1/3 Gallade and 1/3 Fightin + 1/12 energys... And even if Gaqllade (st2) is faster i can give him one guy whitout energys befor giving him 3-5 Wailords with WPs and Waters.

Sonic Blade forces you to switch: It is thus very hard to avoid Galade spreading lots of damage on your cards. Holon WP and a water energy will work but you are limited to how fast you can get a WP and a water onto each card you wish to protect.

You can be facing Sonic Blade from turn three onwards. Not every game it is true but unless you can have your WP in play for turn 3 as often as the Galade can get a single DRE or pair of energies onto their Galade you will most probably loose. Galade also plays Warp Point :(

In order to win, you have to restrict your opponent to the same damage output that you have, you have to have more HP remaining, and you have to not be so far behind on prizes that you can't catch up. Sentret-Furret would help get you the needed WPs. Unown G may slow Galade down a little, though with Pachirisu popular and waliord's x2 weakness it may be of little benefit. We no longer have the old fossil rule which would work well with Wailord so I guess that leaves Jumpluff. I hope you get your share of heads on Cotton Punch..

Wailord isn't broken. Its maximum damage output just isn't big enough to deal with Galade. It isn't unplayable either. Wailord ought to be able to give Magmortar a hard time.

If your metagame isn't filled with Galade then there is hope for Wailord and its massive 200HP.

Had it been released when Mary and the old fossil rule was around then maybe it would get a bit more respect.

We have some GGs, BTW have you tested Wailord against Gallade? And the damage done isn't a problem because my Cresselia (who heal my Wailord) can use it's power 3 times and i attack 2 times with my Wailord. 200 HP is always big, 60 Damage is normal but the energy cost is huge, how ever nobody 2HKO my Wailords WP attached so i have time to load the 3 energys.

    2. The Wailords probably lost because of inconsistent decklists, not poor luck
    3. And 200 HP means 150 from Sonic Blade, or snipefest for Fireball Bazooka

GG decks aren't simply about attacking with Galalde. You need to use Psychic Lock and Bring Down sometimes. :thumb:

I know... I play also GG. 150 SONIC BLADE? That's why Wailord Should play 4 Holon Energy WPs and 1-2 Unown Gs.... Snipe fests for Magmortar? Wailord 2HKO Magmortars easily so Magmoratr can't Snipe much... Maybe like 2-3 Prizes in a game...

Wailord/Wigglytuff with 4 holon circles and 4 SSU and some leftovers is the most lol deck ever. I love playing it at league just to get like 1 hour+ games.

I was going to make a Magnezone/Dialga Lv.X/Wailord deck but that would just be pathetic.

Gallade does not need to OHKO Wailord to win. Hitting it three times, with either Gallade or Gardy with PlusPowers is enough to match the KO rate wailord stacks against G&G. Difference is, G&G takes three energy, and works in many other situations in our current meta. Wailord sits there and does 60 each turn. There is no variation, and therefore almost any counter measure to the deck would easily be effective, as wailord cannot abuse any counter-counter measures. If you plan to get any Cresselia LvX out so that it's power heal your wailord, you waste more time, and more energy, just to fall into whatever trap your opponent is setting.

I tried the deck, and it just didn't work out for out current metagame. Sorry, but that's just the way the deck is right now.

I find it funny that you think G&G players are going to flip over all their Prizes to KO 1 Wailord. You know, they're probally only going to hit you for 80 or something, MAYBE 100. Once your in KO range, but they have to flip over all theor Prizes, any good G&G player won't fall for that. They'll be slowly taking you out, while perparing for a KO on Gallade, like setting up another Gallade, a Gardevoir, etc. Oh, and another thing - Sonic Blade does 150 damage. Wailords don't like that kind of damage, in case you don't know. Oh, right, you're going to draw into your unsearchable WP exactly when you need it! OF COURSE YOU ARE NOT! Luck is not a good thing to rely on. If it was, Slaking and Rotom and Dialga Lv.X would have been broken. Gardevoir means that you can't Cresselia OR Xatu, so you migt be stuck Sleeping for a turn. While taking 60 from Gardevoir. And then there's Dusknoir to consider, if they're using it. Late game, it comes up and hits for 100, while, OMG, Wailord is doing 60. Then, you do 100 again, Wailord has probally taken some damage from Gallade or Gardevoir, like 60, for the win. GG.

Don't forget that if wailord has 2DRE attached to it it does 40 damage.

Seriously, guys, TEST it. If you have 1 Cresellia lv.x on your bench and an active Wailord with Leftovers, Holon WP and water (which is not hard to achieve - 2 stage 1s, tool and 2 energies), you will heal 40-50 damage every turn. Now GG can Psychic Lock you which would mean you cant use Cress x but you still heal 30-40 which means they will take at least 6 turns to KO you (without DRE). Or they can use Psychic Cut - either flip everything leaving wailord with 20 HP (of course no one is going to actually do that) or slowly cutting away. If they averaged 80 damage per attack, it will still take them at least 5 turns to KO you. Your Wailord (with help of Cress X) 2HKOs everything in GG. Now tell me a possible way GG can win when Wailord is set up.

And that is not mentioning Super Scoop Up, Xatu to transfer sleep and Potions (which are not as bad an idea as they may sound). Test the matchup please.

I would be much more worried about random Lighting Rogues than GG with Wailord.

Yeah Metagross thats the way, test the mach up and try 4-4 Wailord 2-2 Claydol 1-1 Xatu and 1-1 Cresselia... If that get start... My opponent have taked only 2 prizes or less (like 2 times Blissey in States 6-0) and for lighting rogues... Rayquaza d HP.16 to take out weakness... No more of worry abaut lighting guys.
