Do you often find yourself looking for a way to express your appreciation for a well-thought-out or useful post? Want to call attention to a brilliant idea? Sick of seeing "Quoted for truth" or "You win the thread" everywhere?

PokeGym is adding a new feature to the forums, the "Thanks" button. If you see a post that's really great, all you have to do is click the button, and a note will be added to the post, to let everyone know what you think.

Don't go around Thanking every cool post you see, though. Each member is limited to three Thanks per day.

If you find a better post to Thank once you've already use all three, you can remove your Thanks from another post, so there's no need to spend all day considering which posts are best.

I'll admit, the Thanks button seems...well, pointless, but I suppose if other people get a kick out of it...

I surprise myself sometimes with my hilarity.
 
Adding there needs to be a "hide thanks" option for those of us who don't feel like seeing the name of every person and date of the thanked post...kinda clutters the screen.

Agreed and thirded.

I find the cluttered and less prettyful screen more annoying than a few QFT posts, and I can work out for myself whether or not a post is useful.

Please, if technically possible, could we have a 'hide' option?
 
Unfortunately, there is not option to allow users to turn it off or on themselves.

It is either all on or all off for the site.

Sorry to those that aren't able to get used to the added text on the site.

LOL I'm sure I'll get used to it.

But it's like having a scratch on your Luxray X. It's still good and still playable, but it's also kind of ugly and you wish it wasn't there :lol:
 
The new Thanks feature seems cool. I'll definitely try it out.

One thing that concerns me is that when prodigal_fanboy makes one of his funny posts, there will probably be pages and pages of "thanks."

Agreed lol.

I know though, for a solution, how about after a week or 2, we have a nice big poll on the front page to determine whether to have it all on or all off? Let the community decide sorta thing. Because it looks so far like there's just as many people who don't care about this new "thanks" stuff.
