:dark:Welcome to another level in PokeGym history! We are updating our reference system with a new way of leaving references for members who you have made trades, sales or purchases with. This new system is fairly simple as it is very similar to Ebay's feedback system.

You don't have to go back and record your old trades in the new system, but we encourage you to do so. The old trader refs list will remain locked and stickied for a year or so, during the transition. You aren't required to use this new system to record your references for others, but wouldn't you feel great to see your number under your avatar grow, to the point of being past the point that you will be allowed to sell here on the gym? How do you think your traders would feel about that? We're sure they'd like it too. If you find that people you've traded with haven't updated you on the new itrader system, you can give them a polite private message asking them if they'd like to check out the new iTrader system, and give you a ref while they are there.

Here is how it will work:

1. You both need to have the deal posted on one of your trading/selling/buying threads and to leave a reference you need to copy the url from the thread it was made on. Trades done over PMs need to be posted on either members thread for it to count.

2. Click the number beside "iTrader" , example : iTrader: (0) , located under the user's avatar and it will take you to that member's references.

3. Select Submit Feedback for this member.

4. You need to then paste the thread url to where the deal was made into the space provided. If you don't put a deal url in it will not submit the reference.

5. Choose from the drop down if you were the:

A. trader
B. buyer
C. seller

6. You must then leave a short quote of how your trade/sale/purchase went.

7. You must leave a complete reply to how your trade/sale/purchase was and if you where happy or disappointed with the trade/sale/purchase in the larger comment box. It doesn't have to be a paragraph, but a short note is necessary.

8. Finally submit it and you have left a reference for the person you just dealt with.

So as you can see it is a fairly simple process.

9. If you notice abuse of the system, profanity, or unnecessary rudeness in a ref, you can (and should!) report it using the triangular report button, the same as posts.

10. If you happen to get a bad ref, and you disagree with the assessment, you can appeal to the mods about this by reporting the ref.

We will be locking the current "Da'Gym's rules & Good/Bad Traders List" thread which was used for displaying the current refs and rules of the site and leave it there for a determined period of time. After a while we will allow that thread to dwindle into the pages of the trading forum once everyone has converted over to the new system.

iTrader will go up Friday October 10th.

Thanks, PokeGym Staff.

Any questions?

I don't think they will be reset because you can input them into the new system. But it might be a pain doing that.

Oh well, great idea, and doesn't sound too complicated or annoying to use. Hope it works out well, seems like a good system!

The Staff has been testing the system for a while now. To sum it up, anyone with experience using either Pojo's system or eBay will be able to use this.

Really, this is a far better system than we have now, as it requires the deals be made in public, and therefore gives better tracking in-case an investigation is needed.

Also, it makes researching a trader much easier.

And yes, you can add old refs to the system, as they can give you refs. You just have to be able to give the URL for the topic the trade was agreed upon. It will be hard to get refs from old traders that are no longer here, but it will be a better system in the long run.

When will that Custom Avatar day be? I remember seeing you post something about it a while ago, but I don't remember when you said it will be.

DarthPika,
In honor of Prime & P_A's birthdays, from Friday, October 3rd, 9PM PDT to Sunday, October 6th 9PM PDT, members will be able to upload a custom avatar.

Azure Kite,
No, I think it's:
Arrange trade, either publically or over PMs
If arranged over PM, post final trade
Exchange addresses over PMs as always

So does this mean that the exchanging of addresses will be made publicly?

No, trades will be conducted as they are now.

The trade can be worked out via trade topic or PM, however, the final trade must be made in the public view.

After that addresses will be traded via PM to continue to protect that information.
