ONE kit? How many do you have attending, RR?

Well, as I posted way up above, my attendance numbers truly don't support 4 kits, but this could have been handled in other ways (since the rationale for matching kits to attendance is due to " a shortage of Gym Badges").

[rant]

I, for one, would gladly pay an offset along the lines with what was charged for kits under WotC. Or allow League Leaders to order more of just the items they need (like more cards, since they're packed as a seperate line item) or more posters or window clings. This would allow the League Leader to maintain an amount of flexibility in how the League is run...

Instead, we read "...your kit order has been reduced to an appropriate level. This is a necessary step in our endeavors to keep providing these league kits free of charge..."

They are not provided free of charge to many overseas locations. Most Leagues (mine excepted) charge players to attend, and could afford to pay a nominal fee (circa $5) for kits. I would pay out of pocket to have what I need (okay, what I think I need) to run my League.

I know, no one here can really do anything about it. But no one who can is likely to.

Alright, This is my imo, so yeah

I posted a topic about a month ago about a little pattern about League Promos. and we got this final thought - 3 Pokemon, 3 Energy and now 3 Trainers.
Before We start complaining on how this game is supposed to "die"> Wait out for a couple more months after the 3rd season of the trainers, then complain about no new promos. I for one is dispointed, but some won't be because they don't have enough Oran Berrys, or Potions, etc.

This makes no sense: sure, numbers-wise, one might report having an average of 15 players per week...but are they the SAME 15 players each week? Of course not!

So what am I supposed to do at the end of the season, if I only have one kit, but 20+ individual players to reward? Not to mention the odd 'leftover' card for the GL, who runs the league? Or any NEW PLAYERS who are starting to show up? Whose bright idea was THIS?! :nonono:

When you report your league attendance in your League Report, you post the total # of attendees for the month. So if you had 20 players, you should get 2 kits.

I agree about the skimping(although I do know that they do cost a pretty penny to make as MTM had told us in the past). You should always have more promos/badges than what your last attendance total was in case your League increases.

The promo of the 7 season is Oran Berry. The non winner stamp is from the Ruby/Saphire set so don't get to excited if you really want one.Your welcome everybody.

Thanks  even tho' it seems that's what Pokeplayer reported here (I could be wrong, of course)

I personally am not all that thrilled with the kit reductions. I understand the badges are not the cheapest thing in the world to have produced... but when for the last few months, I've reported about 17-19 players per month... yet I'm only alloud one kit? One kit... that's 16 promos playing promos, 8 winner promos, and 16 badges... Uh... so let me get this strait... PUI is telling me that, not everyone will be able to get a promo? At least all the players of my league are able to score one promo a month (assuming they are not a new player), which means everyone reaches 100 points. But then, players exceed past 100 points... some times from 200-400 is where my players finish in an adverage month (following the PUI score system), so that means some earn more than one, but no more than four. Okay, now with out touching the winner stash, I'm out by the time everyone (or most of) earns one. So... do I set an earning cap at one? Thats not in the instruction packet... "Each time a player earns 100 points, award that player 1 of the non-winner promo cards." Uh... I can't. For my league's size, I could go though maybe 3 kits a season... and the players are playing full games, even with some challenges I've set up for them.

I think a system where the parts of a league kit on the league store should be set up. Not by ordering by kit, but ordering the contense on its own. Like the window cling, poster, badges, promo packs(winner and non), instruction packet, etc. would be listed up on the store then we set the values. This way it would be a little more flexable. I mean, I need what, around 20 badges? But chances are, I will go over 20 promos... The system needs work.,. I hate to have to walk into the league next week and tell the players of these cut backs... I may just collect the oran berries from my own collection, take out the black sharpie and... generate a bunch of winner stamps ;)

Seems to work fine....

Or you could get some of those "winner" Basic energy cards. Or some of them "MA Prerelease Judges'" cards.

hey guys, i know that everyone thinks the oran berry NON WINENR promo is the same, but theres one point that no one has considered. Now i DONT KNOW THIS FOR SURE, SO A TO OR GYM LEADER WILL HAVE TO CHECK THIS FOR ME, but what about the id tag on the bottom? is it the same as the ruby and saphiere id tag? i dont know but i have a feeling that it isnt. some one please check this

o yea and if it is diffrent give credit where credit is due ;)

TJ, et al,

Even though we did kit reductions for this season, it does not mean you cannot contact me for an additional kit if need be.

I will be the first to admit that the report data we're getting right now is sub optimal, and I've only made the best attempt possible to fulfill EVERYONE's needs.

As is mentioned in the letter in the kits, our league is not a BattleZone format, and the kits are intended to be used for leagues, not tournament prize support.

We're working on a lot of new stuff for the leagues, as well as tournament support, and we absolutely must watch our bottom line of per user costs.

If you have more players than you received materials for, just drop me a line at [email protected] and state your case, you'd be surprised how nice I am.

After looking at all of the ones in my league kit, and the stack of soon to be changed into winner-marked Oran Berry, they all seem to have the same code:

OK. I've about had it with this.

Every season I make the same comment on the league report form: we need NEW promos.

I know that they had promos planned out and printed in advance, and that they couldn't just change course instantly...

But, so many people have been pointing out how the promo *yawn* fiasco is hurting attendance and killing enthusiasm that you'd think there would be a sign that someone was listening...

Apparently not. =/
I think your right we shold all report that we need new promos i started leagues a few weeks back and last reported about 10 players average and did not get a kit reductionso... And i think that they are going to give us all the promo cards from the WB promotion were you make your own card and they pick like 5 winners i am sure we are going to get those. I hope they dont reduce my kits cuz im geting more players fast.

I can't figure out why they think kids would join league to get a card they can get rather easily in packs of Ruby/Sapphire. Now I am stuck with a bunch of cards the kids don't want. Heck if us paying for league kits will get better promos I say charge away!!

Well, my worst fears were realized - 1 kit instead of 4...Pokeplayer neglected to quote the part of the letter that states "League Kits are not intended as prize support..."

so did anyone else get cut on kits?

We only got 2 kits, when 4 was ordered for our store.

Did anyone also notice that the winner stamp was just printed on the card and was not even stapmed on with the silver like the other ones?

Well I for one am encouraged by Prof Dav's words above - looking forward to some sort of small/League tourney prize support!!

Also good to hear that you can email them and ask for more if you really need it (I won't be, actually, because my attendance really doesn't support it) - marril2k hopefully that will help your situation!

farbsman, I think it will take the League Leadership continuing to provide feedback about what is effective which may drive change in the direction we think it should, rather than paying for the kits. Sort of two different issues here: (1) kit quantities reduced = busine$$ decision (2) kit contents decided in a vacuum??? - no creative juices going there :(.

GLB - yeah, I noticed :p - whatchgonnado? (I think that was the point of why we can use a Sharpie to create Winner Oran Berry out of the non-winer ones lol)

I haven't heard if my league has been reduced yet or not. However, while I do not have an abundance of extra promos... I seem to have an abundance of badges... since we are supposed to give them out for attendance once a month. Getting 4 league kits (1 per week) gives 60? badges for the month... If anything, I would reduce them to 8 per kit and keep the rest the same. That should cut the costs of the league kits right?

I would have to agree with reducing the amount of badges. Most of my older players don't like/care to have them. They would rather have promo cards (well when we get new ones.)

I think 8 badges per kit would be more then enough.

The winner promos were top dog against these. Let me correct myself, ALL of WotC promos were top dog over these. We had different pokemon, some repeated but very useful trainers, holo here, holo there, 5/6 of the promos were brand new cards. There was not 3 versions of any of the starters, and the only reason we had alot of pikachu was because pikachu is very popular. We didn't have 5 different versions of the same promo, or a potion or moo-moo milk as a promo. THe WotC promos 0wn3d the nintendo promos in every way.

"Well Nintendo hasn't been making pokemon cards for a year, so lay off of them!"

We don't need to wait a year for a professional company to start producing good material. If we had to, game companies would not release their best games with the release of the system. If you tell your customers to come back in a year when the good stuff comes out nobody will show up. Easy as that. Nintendo needs to make good promos because that is what makes the league, not badges. We have lived without badges, and the promos kept the league alive and active. Without the promos, people don't want to battle, and without battling, there is no league. We have badges, we have CC,SC,WC, good great, now don't slack and start giving us commons from every set with a painted on lame stamp and call it a promo.

Just my opinion.
