Finally a thread I can relate to. I've always tried to get promos over most other cards. I have around 15 WotC promos all from trades and am starting to get more Japanese cards especially promos. Infact I ordered the Asokobita(sp?) Diglet and Dugtrio set last night and will soon be buying on an Ana Airlines Moltres and a CD which includes the 10 CD promos.

I also own holos from Base set through to Rising rivals except for the Expedition sets. I own around 100 holos which isn't that much considering I've been collecting since base set but then again I'm only 17 and don't have an eBay account. Also another rare I managed to get in a pack that is pretty rare was a Japanese Shining Raichu but I am currently trading that for a Grand Party Trainer and CD Promo Snorlax.

it means you shell out some bucks, send your cards to a grading company, they seal it in an acid free UV resistant and tamper proof container along with a grading stamp which tells you how perfect your card is on a scale from 1 to 10, and then they send it back to you.
 
Waynegg is the Trainer A and B set the Japanese Video set by any chance. Ie Bulbasaur and Squirtle Decks?
 
guess I should chime in. I am working on player sets of every card from every North American Release set, not including reprints. Currently my project is still getting my list together, but I am most likely going to be bringing it to worlds. 4 of each card is not an easy feat to do.

Nice dan the japanese promos are the best :cool: well maybe i have a bias but they are the most difficult and most sought after to collect. I have just about every one except for a few trophy promos, hopefully i can get some pictures up but i do have a trade thread if you or anyone else is interested actually i started this and didnt even put up my collection

Alright so there it is most of my collection i guess i should post this on the original post.
 
My collection is kind of out there, really. I used to be just a casual collector but now I thirst promos and ultra rares, mostly, as long as they suit my price range. Also, I rely mostly on luck; I usually always find cards at a fraction of their true values, which is awesome. I'd say my most valuable card is a Promo Tropical Wind Challenge Road from 1999 that I received AS A FREEBIE from an ebay purchase. Rare freebies like that happen a lot with me, which I am always grateful of.

Japanese Promos truly are the best. It's always sad for me when I see them being remade into really common American cards, or when I go to tournaments and people shun my cards just because they're Japanese and "not tournament legal soon".

I've been watching your stuff for ages PRguitarman, you have alot of nice stuff. Also smpratte your collection is HUGE. Any idea on how much you've spent on getting it to the size it it now? Also smpratte do you have any pictures of your collection? Also PRguitarman when you put your cards in there sleeves do you put them in individual card sleeves first by any chance?

no. they are very rare promo decks put out by wizards of the coast for use in the pokemon league during the first cycle of the league in1999. if you are looking to compare them to something, as far as contents go, it would be brock's deck and misty's deck. except in english. i only know of 6 deck a, well 7 now as i picked mine up from someone who didn't know what they had, and about 35 deck b that are still complete and mint. we opened ours, with gloves, and put them in acid free protectors and we are having a sealed shadowbox frame made to put then in for display along with the boxes and the sample card set.

And Dan, about 98.9% of my cards do get put in their own plastic sleeves before being put in the binder pages. I'm currently out of them at the moment so there are like 15 cards that need to be sleeved, but I'm planning a trip to the store to remedy that problem.

Anywho, all of you sound like you have amazing cards. I'm looking forward to actual images!

To crazypokemon and anyone else who would like uncut card sheets graded, it's not happening no grading company grades or authenticates uncut sheets, sorry just talked to PSA asking them that.
