Sami, obviously. He always wins.

Sami wont win. He has his trip already from Worlds last yr. He will aid someone in getting the paid trip IMO. The only way he wins is if his group of friend(s) isnt on the other side and he makes the finals.

I agree with lawman, Sami is going to scoop to anyone of his friends in top cut to make an attempt to get the trip. If none of his friends are in cut, then he might try to go for the win/make someone's day.

I would have picked Sami, and he of course won. I am not sure, but while invites don't pass down this year, I am fairly sure that trips do. I know that in previous years, if a person already had a trip it would get passed down at the event ONLY. So since they already knew that Sami had an invite, that the second place player may have gotten the trip to Worlds.

The trip did pass down to the player who got 2nd, I'm guessing thats why Sami went for 1st.

I think it was 2005 the last time a non-sekkoum ( Sami or Yacine ) won Nationals in Masters, they're always the favourites.

Didnt know if the trip would pass down due to no pass downs on the invites via ranking, but there was pass downs here bc the scholarship money is different for 1st and 2nd. Therefore, I would have said Sami too, since he seems to win every yr.

He played LuxChomp.
But he didn't want to, he wanted to play Jumpluff, but he built Jumpluff decks for loads of friends and family that showed (like 4 or 5 different people) and he ran out of Jumpluffs.

For what it's worth, my proverbial money is almost always on Pooka or some Pooka-built list. He's absolutely broken US Nats two of the last four years, even though he's only won it once. Plus, he's been on a TEAR this year with wins at both States and Regionals, and another T4 (T2?) at States. I don't think he'll win it this year, as people are gunning for him. But I think somebody will take one of his lists, tweak it for their own purposes, and run roughshot over the field.

Uh, this was for UK Nats. Dont think Pooka has done anything over the big pond.
