Why did I have to take the Professor Exam again?

I checked my Play! Pokemon account and noticed that I had the option to join the Professor Program again. I toom the test again and failed. However, I'm certain that I was within the six month period for the first test that I took. So why did I have to take it again? I hadn't even done anything as a Professor so I don't think I would've been kicked out of the program.

There was a change to the Professor Program. Maybe because you were not an active Professor you were not migrated over successfully. Did you keep the email notification you should have received when you took it the first time?
