Last night, on my way home from New Hampshire, I tried to drive straight through... the full 16 hours back to Detroit. That didnt work, as I fell asleep at the wheel and skidded my car into a ditch/median with trees. Luckily I woke up as I started to twist and was able to hit the breaks in time before I smashed into the tree...
And the of course I needed to get my car towed out of the ditch, which cost $135 for 10 minutes of work... what a rip. I was able to drive the vehicle without a problem, which is very good. I'm still a bit shaken up whenever I veer toward the curb at all, but I'm fine.
So, I just wanted to warn everyone that if you are driving and get tired, PULL OVER! It'll save you a lot of time, money and pain. Resting for 3 hours is better than having to pay $100 or more, and waiting for 2 hours before you can start moving again.
